  1. Hi,

I had a FUT HT around 10 years back, would have preferred FUE if it was available then.  It did help me to a good extent at that point and over the years i continued to lose more hair and didnot actually pay too much attention. I never took minoxidl or finesteride etc post HT as well all these years...just that was wary about the side-effects....and scalp itchness when i had initially used...

Now  I need a suggestion.... I feel am at the point of hair loss where i can shave off my head....and given covid conditions I did shave.....but main concern is clearly visible scar.... am attaching pictures here... can doctors or experts here suggest best options for me...

It might need a lot of FUE follicles to cover up the scar alone? Instead of covering the scar...these follicles can be used to add some frontal hairline...?

Or is there any other applicants etc which can conceal the scar to some extent assuming i shave my head...

    Appreciate your suggestion...

  2. Hi,

I read this in todays newspaper. Looks to be a miracle technique if this works:

A medical couple in Hyderabad, Debraj Shome and Rinky Kapoor, claim that their home-grown invention, QR 678, could arrest the most stubborn cases of hairfall ...

The couple say their invention required four years of research, passing through various stages of development in the laboratories of the Tata Memorial Hospital, IIT Mumbai and Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. "If there is no research paper on it yet," says Dr Shome, "it is only because we have still not patented the molecule, which is basically a mix of many growth factors ...

(see the "Times of India" for more information)

thoughts on this? Have you heard about this before? Any experiences ?

    Suresh.

  3. I had my surgery in Dec 09 and I see same results too.Even am wondering wether all the pain was worth it.

    Guys,

BTW I used to apply minoxidil about a year back but had stopped it bcoz fo itching. Post surgery when I informed the same to Dr.Madhu he said its better to avoid if itching was seen.

Recently I got tugain 2% and applied it before sleep, but next morning I see more hairs coming off and hence stopped it. I have heard applying minox initally causes some hairfall....what are you experiences with minoxidil pre and post surgery?

  4. Based on the confidence on this forum and speaking to few forum members here who had got it done from Dr. Madhu, I zeroed upon Dr. Madhu

and got my HT done on dec 24th. I got 2420 grafts in a single strip. I have attached pre and post op pics. Please do comment what you feel

about the HT.( not expecting standard answers saying u'll see the result in 10 months, but comments as to how the hairline looks after HT, about

num of grafts, can i expect good density as hairs grow etc). There are few grafts transplanted on sides too(but not seen in the pic)

I only remember the initial strip cutting part and the final cleaning part with continuous spray of some saline solution. Was unconscious

for the rest of time. So not exactly sure as to who among the docs did my HTicon_frown.gif Also mine took around 4 hours and I see pple saying min 5-6 hrs here..

Crown area which is thinning remains a concern to me. Maybe 1 more session is needed in future. I think it would have been better to go for one more strip like Pratik at a shot and avoid this entire process in future.

PS: Didnot wanted to start one more thread so posting here. Pls do drop in your comments.

  5. I went for a consultation with DR Sreedhar recently. Had a satisfactory experience. I saw 2 guys already got done transplants abt 3 days back and had come there for checkup or maybe i guess removal of stiches.Transplant looked pretty decent, except I felt there were lot of spaces b/w hairs transplanted ( maybe thats the way it is expected to be at initial stages)

Speaking to people around I came to know that he does 2 to 3 transplants daily and around 7-8 consultations a day ( this is what i heard ).
