  1. Wow I was surprised to see this thread was still alive. We'll to be honest after 4.5 year of consistent use of Proscar I can say overall I'am satisfied with the results. It definitely has help me keep the hair I have, but as far as new growth, I would say it's non-existent. Nothing really works on a receding hairline

about 2 months ago I started using Kirkland 5% minoxidil which I ordered off amazon.com and this stuff is amazing and very inexpensive. No I'm serious, in about 2 months minoxidil completely filled in my crown area. The stuff really works. You have to be discipline and make sure to apply it twice a day.

For me, the only thing left on my hair journey is to restore my recessed hairline. I have a date with Dr. Rahal on June 11th for 3600 graft transplant. Can't wait, I'm very excited.

  2. Just completed 6 months on Fin and I couldn't be happier. Re-growth is quite dramatic. I must be really lucky because I haven't experienced any side effects (yet)

Also, I went from taking propecia which costs about $2.00 a day to taking a 1/4 proscar which costs about $0.55 a day. What a savings. Thanks Doc!!!

Anyways, I was thinking off adding Rogaine to the mix because I'am getting hair greedy! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!

    Couple quick questions.

    1) Will rogaine help even more when combined with propecia?

    2) What shampoo should I be using to compliment the two

    3) Can you still use hair gel after applying rogine? Since my hair line has filled in significantly, I like to rock the slciked hair!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

  3. I'll stay on the fin for 6 months to a year before doing the HT. But I heard Fin is not very effective on a receeding hairline??? My crown is in pretty good shape for 26 years old, so my hair line is my main concern. I'm still going to visit dr. jones and dr. Mckenzie to further my knowledge. Consultations are free so I have nothing to lose.

  4. What a wealth of information. This site is unbelieveable. I'm going to visit Dr. Mckenzie and Dr. Robert Jones. Since they are close to my home and come highly recommended. I'll make my decision after the consultations.

  5. Wow it's a lot worse then I thought. I didn't know the crown was this bad. I just hope Fin can bring back what time has taken away from me. Anyway this is week 1 of Fin. I'll take new pics once a month and let you guys be the judge.

I'm definitely getting a HT in Spring. I'm going to see Dr. Seager and Dr. Jones. I appreciate any feedback on these two doctors.
