  1. Patrick,

First off, I am in no way in debating mode, yet. Secondly, no members opinion is more valuable than another's. The purpose of any forum is an open discussion of issues, each participant offering his views in a structured manner. Seniority does not make one member more qualified than another, nor does his number of posts, this is purely indicative of the amount of leisure time one possesses. The only factor of relevancy is accuracy and knowledge of said discussions. Unfortunately, in the post I have referred to, neither was accomplished. I am confident no malice was intended, but as of yet no response has been posted by Fireman, this would be indicative that he may have taken offense to remarks made. This is purely conjecture, and I hope I am incorrect in my assumption, but only time will tell. I hope you personally will take the time to respond to my thoughts, since I am disinterested in continuing this discussion with obtrusive members, though for what I have heard, you seem to side step issues, so I will not hold my breath.

Fireman, I would be glad to discuss this matter, one on one, if you wish, just PM me.

  2. Bill,

First, I appreciate your response to my rebuttal, secondly I am pleased you have retracted your previous statement indicating the use of mini/micro grafts due to the erroneous impressions you initially voiced. Honesty, as you stated, is the best policy, but one must be cautious in voicing it until all the fact are in, to do so prematurely, as you have, diminishes its validity. In my opinion, it would have been more prudent to illicit more information from this poster of his procedure to determine certain aspects of his transplant before judging it as a success or failure. It appears that HK500, in his post previous to yours, was attempting this before offering his opinion.

I understand that your intentions were not to unfairly criticize his photo, noted by your disclaimer of not having him take it personally, but this in no way can ameliorate the impact of your criticism, the end result being identical. Hopefully Fireman has not viewed your comments before your retraction, and regretted his efforts of making his experience public. We all make mistakes, to err is human, but many can be avoided by not making haste.

    B spot,

Yours is the prudent approach, obtain additional information first, then offer an evaluation one way or another. We are not privy to certain thoughts or intentions Fireman has concerning his transplant and the possibility of future transplants, if any. I hope Fireman will take the time to inform us of these facts, so informed opinions can then be offered.

See above. No one is asking you to lie to this individual, but it is imperative that further information be gathered before an informed opinion can be properly generated.

    Pushing 40,

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt" (AL), words I believe you should live by.

  3. Bill,

I believe your comments are uncalled for and very rude. As a senior member on this forum I believe you should know better than to make such derogatory statements. Obviously this new member has taken the time to post his experience with members of this forum and the last thing he wishes to hear is such poor remarks.

I believe that we should be offering words of encouragement on his decision to make changes, not telling him his procedure was performed using " old school" technology. Obviously your initial transplants were less than optimum, hence your decision for further transplants to augment it. Would it have been fair for others to comment that your first transplants were woefully inadequate for your state of hair loss? I am sure you would not have been amused at such remarks.

Since he states "first HT", it would be prudent to assume that he intends in obtaining additional procedures to accomplish his intentions. Perhaps I am wrong in this assumption, and this was his desires. Whichever the case, it his decision. His progression over 5 months shows healing went along very well, and appears quite natural. I believe your assumption that it was performed using mini or micro grafts was incorrect. If you had concerns over the surgery, I believe it would have been more tactful to illicit further information from him before your criticism. It seems you jumped the gun on this one, Bill. I hope you have not alienated a prospective member by your hasty comments.

  4. Kamin, my poor misguided friend. Your choice of icon is appropriate. Your habitual use of recreational drugs obviously has taken it toll on you. Was it perhaps prescribed by one of your hair transplant doctors in lieu of propecia, no doubt a cutting edge DHT suppressant.

I would not rely on any constructive replies from a number of members of this forum, they seem more adept in insulting newer members that do not reflect their personal feelings. I, like you, have found very few highly qualified doctors here, in my case I believe HW, as you do, may be one of a handful that are worth considering. Do not allow your self to be pushed around by anyone. I for one will not.

  6. buzz, I am just like my father, he was at my stage when he was 22, now at 59 his is still the same, early loss in my family is common, but no one goes further, so I am sure mine will not change either, its been the same since I was 22.

I prefer to do this now at a young age so I can enjoy the most important part of my life, why wait like nick until I am in my 40's and married, life is pretty much over by then. Too bad he could not have done this 20 years ago instead of suffering so long. I feel bad for him, but better late than never.

  7. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your hairpiece looks pretty obvious. I am sure your friends are being too kind in not saying anything, but I am sure they know what is going on. I think you should reconsider a transplant instead of looking foolish.

  8. I am a diffuse thinner, 25 y/o, and have been taking Propecia for about 1.5 years, but I am considering ending that regimen as I am unfortunately being affected by its sexual side effects, and the constant urination sucks.

Would it be too early for a HT right now?

If not how much work do you think I need, and any recommendations from personal experience on a good doctor to do this. I am currently in the Florida area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
