  1. October 2018

I thought I'd update my album and plus, I got a new haircut that I really liked, so win-win.
Keep in mind that these photos are 20 years after I got my first hair transplant (I'm 51 years old now) and you haven't read anything else in my profile, I've had a total of 6 hair transplants.
My medication and supplement regime consists of: Propecia (I've been on it for at least 15 years) and taking daily supplements of biotin, zinc, iron and folic acid.
My hair care routine is: a shampoo for color treated hair, because, yes, my hair is dyed and about once a week, I work in a use of Nizoral shampoo as well.

Occasionally, I will use warm olive oil as a hair treatment (put some in the microwave, apply it through the hair with a comb and keep it in overnight).  I also use castor oil sometimes too (put a little bit in your hair, comb it through and leave it in overnight).  At one point, I was using the castor oil treatment two or three times a week and while some may disagree, it seemed to help make my hair a slight bit thicker.

  2. Hair photos

I don't have photos prior to the one in 2004 that accurately show hair loss but I was approximately norwood level 3 and the temple area thinning had started to become aggresive prior to my first hair transplant surgery. 2200 grafts in 15 years, the last surgery was 2002.

  4. 1520 grafts, 10/19/2012

After the last transplant, the front of my hairline wasn't as dense as I wanted it to be. I asked Dr. Aronivitz to bring my hairline down a bit, as well as giving me additional density.

On 10/19/2012, he put 1520 grafts in the front and sides of my hair line.

  5. 11/02/2012

Here are some photos from today, 11/02/2012

These are photos of what my hair looks like to date, through my fourth surgery.

Because I use gel and hair spray, I'm able to conceal thin spots but it takes a bit of work to do that. I wanted to be able to avoid having to do so much work to hide those spots (as well all know, insecurity about balding is hell). Therefore, I opted for a 5th transplant.

My fifth transplant was on 10/19/2012. I wanted more density and to bring my hairline down a bit.

You can't tell from these pictures but there are still a few scabs in the temple area. To bring the hairline down and look natural, it was necessary to move the temple area a bit forward as well.

I'm very anxious to see the results and I'll post those results, when they grow in.

With any luck, I'm done having transplants for a very long time, if I ever have to do them again.

  6. July 16th, 2015. 6th & final transplant

On July 16th, 2015, I had my 6th and final hair transplant. On this date, 1117 grafts were transplanted.

This is my final hair transplant because I'm now out of donor area but overall, I'm happy with my hairline anyway.

This final transplant was strictly for density. There were a couple of thinner spots that I noticed, although no one else seemed to notice them.

The photos are two days post op. I couldn't wash my hair the day following surgery and these were taken just after I did wash it. I've tried to comb it back as best I can to give you a good view of where the grafts are.
