If it was just a linear scar, I think i would still have shaved. I opted for 2 repair procedures with Dr. Wong instead. I must say that my results were mixed. My hair certainly looks better then before, but I still don't feel like i look very good and don't have the freedom that I would have liked. I have to use lots of hair gel to keep the hair together as it is so thin and patchy. Wow, do i wish i could just shave it all off, but between the linear scar (which goes temple to temple) and the open donor scars, there is no way. I def recommend people at least try to shave before doing an HT.

This post here is what it's all about.

I realize that many do not want to shave their head, although it's not as bad as many of you think, and it is quite liberating when you do so.

BUT, here is my motivation for making my post the first time.

What if you get a botched job? Then your options are severly limited for the rest of your life.

I know I'm not going to change anybody's mind, but hopefully I would have sparked a thought about what somebody suffering from MPB might give it a try before going for surgery.

most of you are adults about this subject, and I know how traumatic this is to many, a few were childish, telling me to go away.

I wish you all the best of luck in your search for the head of hair that makes YOU happy, or gives you confidence... although I feel I have a ton of confidence and I shave my head every morning, even though I don't have to.... Hair doesn't give you confidence, it comes from within.

  2. The last thing I want anybody to think that I am mocking anybody.

I am not, and I don't wish hairloss on anybody (except myself)

yes, there are plenty of hair removal products that burn your skin.

laser hair removal is not guranteed permenant and can be quite expensive.

    it's just personal preference

  3. I hear you there.

It's too bad that all the sites / information out there starts it's 'pitch' with "Confidence", and shows photos of ladies being attracted to this guy with his new hair.

but many (not all) do find bald attractive..

Do any of the trasnplant doctors mention that they might just look good shaving it all off?

  4. you've got it right there!

trying a head shave first and sport it for a month.

since I shaved my head, I feel I have more confidence even though I wasn't losing my hair in the first place.

It takes a confident guy to shave all the hair off and walk around like it doesn't matter. It's not easy in the beginning, but I have nothing but positive comments on it.

  5. Thank you.

I found this site because I recently started shaving earlier this month, and I'm always looking for information on head shaving (different techniques / products, etc) and I stubled across somebody's BLOG on Hair Club for Men, and somehow I stubled on this site.

I had a ton of anxiety about shaving my head, I've never been happy with my hair, always hating it being curly etc...

I tried it earlier this month and I love it..

I found a website similar to this that is all about being bald. Many of the guys there are suffereing from Male Pattern Baldness and are quite happy that they shave their head.. and most are quite surprised how good they look with a shaved head... and all the anxiety disappears when you don't have to worry about who might discover that they have a "piece" or using cover up, or the scars from plugs / transplants.

Imagine how much money you could save by simply giving up trying to cover it up or reversing it and simply embrasing your baldness and shaving it all off... you'll be much happier

  6. I don't have any bad comments to make, and hopefully this won't be deleted..

I must say after reading all about hair loss and the surgeries, money, heartache etc.

I'm sure just about all of you would look fine if you just simply shaved your head bald.

I shave my head every day, and I have a full head of hair.

You are putting a ton of cash out there and treated terribly by some of the physicans that do the transplants.

Shaving your head is very liberating, and it's not as bad as you think it is.

take care, I wish the best for all of you
