Hey Buddy
I too am 23 and had my HT of 1500 grafts a bit over 2 months ago and in my state of mind I was going to do it, I had done my research, Thought it over and I have not looked back.
Dr Martinick and I talked about the future and did bring up my age but seen that I had a mature approach to it and we decided on a Reasonable hairline which im happy with and left enough donor hair so that at worst I may have a bald patch on the back of my head when im older which does not bother me at all.
I use toppik and its so easy and helps alot, I wore it out the other night I left it on to see what it looked like in the sun cause people say it looks weird and it does, looks like someone put flower through your hair (Can anyone confirm my thoughts?)
To me your hairline doesnt seem too bad, Some good photo`s with a flash would be good to get a proper idea
Hope this helps

I know everyones said this to you mate but your still only six months out , be patient I know its hard
I do hope things will work out for you Mate
I must admit i do look upto in regards to Transplants
Has your hair started growing back since you shaved it?
-
Hey Robonick
sorry to be a bit late on the uptake Im 23 and had my HT done a month and a half ago and I havent looked back i think I even have some sprouters already
I shaved my head for 2.5 years and after doing that I will never go back for one I looked older and two how many girls our age are interested in a bald guy? I know there`s more to a relationship than attraction but honestly it is the basis for it
the way I looked at it was that no matter what become from it aslong as it was approached Properly, Realistictly and Performed Properly I was going to be in a much better situation then I was and at that point I was not even comfortable going out with my mates
Directly after making the date getting on Propecia) and more after having the surgery (despite all the scaps and stuff) I felt alot more better , because I went and did somthing about the one thing that made me down about myself
I too have lost time and friends from my hairloss but now ive taken the first to making my life better and most importantly me happier

Dont stress too much about it, The morning of the op is the worst but just soldier on youll be fine and you will feel much better after it
Wishing you all the best

I had my HT 3 weeks ago with DR Martinick in Sydney Australia i had the same thing, since i had alot of 1`s and 2`s and very few 3`s and 4`s she put 1`s and 2`s together to make 3`s and 4`s i was lucky too went in for 1500 grafts got 1700, BOO YA!!! now my question is when sge did the op for 1500 grafts, before the procedure she asked for 2500 FU`s can anyone shed some light on the difference?
-
well hopefully the propecia will help that area out i still have 4500 hairs to chuck up there if need be , i got my stitches out yesterday very happy now i just have to wait for some growth patience is the only option
-
I took holidays and told them i was going on a road trip so i didnt have to give too much detail, and just for the record i actually did go for the road trip hope this helps
-
jump on the propecia band wagon thatll stop it hopefully , if your keepin your hairline it should help you out

The hairs that fell out looked like they had the black bulb and the white surrounding (im guessing thats the follicle) so im just hoping thats not the follicle will post photo`s
The density i got was 40/cm2 at the front about 1cm and 20/cm2 behind that not sure what she did about density on top im guessing she probably filled in the gaps with what was left over from the hairline, lookin at it now im dont think that 20/cm2 will be the density i want but can only wait and see i will be better off then i was i will post more photo`s soon im actually on the road to Mackay (north queensland) at the moment so its a bit hard all the scabs have come away already just waiting for the hairs to fall out how long should that take? i have been shampooing daily but not much has been coming out
take care
-
Cheers for the support lads
the whole procedure cost about $14500AU im just hoping that i get the density i want, most of the scabs are gone now off the recipient area its still a lil pinkish i think i might have lost a few grafts too, but anyhow theres still plenty up there the hairs are still in there but i think they are already starting to come out some came with the scabs, the donor area is still a lil tender but i can sleep on it

Hi all
I finally had my H/t on Monday morning with Dr Martinick and her Team, Must say to begin with that the overall experience was quite pleasent (for a H/T) I was sedated most of the time while I was awake I was able to have a good chat with her and her team about things, I am currently recovering while in actual fact im not in a great deal of pain the most pain I had was the night of the surgery which I was able to relieve with some panadine forte that night and have not needed anything since ,I could not help but keep looking at the job in the mirror im very pleased with the hairline we decided on and cant wait for the growth, the night after the procedure I actually found it to be considerablie more easier to sleep then the night before (Fear of the unknown) i found the hotel lounge pillow (one of those cylinder lookin ones anout 4" in diameter and about 15") the best thing to sleep on just popped it underneath my neck and zzzz time, Today I finally got to wash it for the first time which felt great , my scalp feels tight still but should loosin up after the stiches are removed from the donor site. so obviously overall the experience was quite pleasent although I could not go out in public like this it has certainly boosted my self esteem, 2 steps forward 1 back i have posted pictures on my blog browny217 ,finally thanks everyone for the support and information it has helped alot if anyone has any questions please ask.

Cheers for the Comments Guys
I went in for 1500 ended up with 1720 I think
I could not find anything bad about Dr Martinick only that she doesnt do dense packing but as she pointed out its like planting vegtables too close together,Ill be going back in the near future for another pass for a bit of density. she did 40cm2 of grafts for the first cm then 25 back in to give the deception of a wall of hair as she said the challenge is trying to make it look like you still have the 20 somthing thousand hairs on your head
I lost those grafts I was getting in the Car and bumped my head with my hat on bled a bit and cursed I did
Hope your as happy with yours so far CooleyFied as I am with mine the way I looked at it I have to be way better off than I was
