Again, I think your focus should be on having your hair and scalp examined by a professional and getting a diagnosis/monitoring.

Continue doing transplant research if you like, but keep that as a distant option at this time. You have lots of hair and it looks good.

Your hairline looks very normal. 

Stay on the medication, and I would say try and seek out a dermatologist or trichologist if you can to track your progress on medication. Not sure if either of the surgeons would do it, but the may be willing to do so for you.

I don't think you need a hair transplant at this time.

There are also scenarios where some people have procedures done, but aren't properly informed on medication use prior and may not start until post surgery only to find out they have side effects or they are one of the percentage of people it doesn't work for.

Topical can be cost prohibitive, as well it can go systemic and produce side effects.

Acceptance isn't giving up and quitting.

It's confident because you are taking ownership of the situation, you are not letting it control you anymore and you are no longer hiding or trying to cover up anymore.

Repair? Laser/Electrolysis? Shave?

Am curious how this might factor into repairs. Often people need hairs moved from the hairline and with FUE there is always the risk of scarring, but it appears verteporfin might prevent that scarring from happening. Or in this scenario, where a transplanted hair is being moved again, would the verteporfin actually regenerate another hair follicle in the place where the transplanted hair follicle was moved from in the front of the head?

Aside from that, work on being a good person, put in work at school if you are in it, travel, explore new hobbies, meet new people, develop your own personal style, accept yourself. Do all the things that matter.

As well, you should seek out a doctor, preferably a dermatologist who is versed in hair loss, who can give you a proper in person evaluation and diagnosis.

It's definitely of benefit to have it fail sparsely. 

However, if verteporfin ends up healing scars completely as apparently it does in animal models (not for hair regrowth, merely for restoring the skin itself) and some successful laser hair removal you could end up essentially undoing the procedure in favorable cases.

It's too bad electrolysis of transplanted hair can lead to bumpy and uneven skin.

Has anyone ever developed side effects to finasteride or dutasteride years into taking it?

Has anyone ever seen or known  an older gentleman, say 70+, who has had a hair transplant previously? How does it look? How do they feel about it now?

Losing hair and not being eligible for a hair transplant does not make you f#ed. 

Give it all a shave and see how you feel. Being diffuse and having a hairline, I bet it looks great. It sucks when you're young and it's scary and you feel a certain kind of way about it, but become comfortable with yourself. Maybe eventually you still want to do something about it, but you might be surprised and at least will appreciate how you got there.

How well would it be at just treating previous fue scars on terms of rejuvenating that skin after puncturing it again?

Also, any idea how well or long the the new hair follicles regenerated will grow/last? Are they possibly just not as robust and maybe couldn't handle being transplanted?

Any idea how many times the verteporfin could work to rejuvenate the same area?
