@luckyg Thanks for the write up, really helps. I’m also worried the post-procedure recovery might get a bit difficult. People have described the donor area feeling a sensation of being too close to fire without being able to get away. Did you find anything that helped soothe that pain? How long did it last? And, sorry last question, does your donor feel fine/back to usual now? Thanks again, I’m going in a week and I’ve been ridiculously curious.

I found aloe Vera gel from the fridge soothes it. Think about it, it's like the back of your head was scraped along gravel. 4k cuts in my case ! So I say it's not bad considering. It's easing now on day 10, once I can sleep on side I'm grand. But it is still tender and will be for awhile more. I'm older so maybe longer for my healing.

Last thing, regarding original poster, it's his thread, do update your situation. I'm not making any judgement here on how it went down but I hope u are getting on well your hair growth and this clinic is supporting you through it. Regards.

@luckygHow was your experience? How was the pain? Did you leave the day after the surgery? Thanks

Hi htus, I found it efficent and organised. Interaction with Dr Turan is not ideal as there's a language barrier but with interpreter u get your message across. I told them pack the front, I'm nw5a and I'm 6'2", no one sees my crown ! I can go back for 2nd op.

Pain is a sting, no biggie. It's the sleeping on your back, for me my donor felt  like sunburn. Sleep a disaster.

I left day after, Istanbul was wet and cold and who wants stared gazes at your beaming red skin head!

Time will tell if its a success but so far so good, scabs all gone on day 9.

  3. Looking good. I was there last week and don't think Ill be as scab free as you are. I daren't leave the house !

I'll be keeping on eye as you're just a week on from me. I am Norwood 5a so need to go back for crown. Like yourself, I was happy and will see what the following months bring.

I do notice price is rising a lot every year. While Fuecappilar are very reasonable, I think rate of increases is far outstripping average inflation and in time this clinic will be out of reach for a lot of us.

hi guys I visited FUE on December 13th. Pretty happy with my results, I definitely wouldn’t worry. The work he does is pretty good. As for standards of practice hygiene etc it’s probably about as good as you can expect from Turkey and not USA/UK clinic. If you’de like more pictures or info then let me know. I got 3660 grafts. Was quoted 2.5-3.5k grafts I believe.

    my brother also got 4,000

    ~grafts the next day.

if you want pictures or more info then let me know. Callum889dt@yahoo.co.uk is my email since I probably won’t check this thread.

Thanks good to know. I'm actually going to be there in exactly 2 weeks ! I'm glad FUECapilar are not shying away from this thread and addressing the OPs concerns . I'm going to trust in Dr Turan and his team. His work comes recommended by mods here and others like Callum here.

I'm getting a lot of work done and it's a big deal for me and everyone here who puts themselves through this. I'm a stubborn middle aged man and want to feel that everyone in that surgery is focused on making this the best experience and result for me.

I'll report back but I'm confident I'm in good hands.

  5. Long tine lurker here for reseach purposes and have Dr Turan booked  for February. This is not good to read and I'm now concerned and on verge of cancelling. It seems that the patient is treated like another number, no personal attention. Doctor doesn't want to be there

I wish someone from a recent visit could allay my fears. A doctor is only as good as their last operation so what reputation that is built up is immediately forgotten for a doctor who seems to not care anymore.
