  1. Janna,

Thanks for the input. I'm trying to avoid the strip cut again. Isn't there a way to go in and remove the hairs to be transplanted one at a time and insert them where they are needed?

I'm not looking at the cost side of things when I ask this (I am not adverse to paying three sessions worth of costs, if this procedure would take three times as long), I'm more interested in knowing whether it can be done first (then I want to explore the cost side of things)

    Your thoughts?

  2. Thanks fellas,

I agree with the "you can always lower it later" comment.

Can you give me your top two Doc recommendations based on what you see (my pic, my age, my thoughts). I see that some of you have 100s of posts, so I think in your mind you have an opinion as to which Doc (or two) I should talk to. I will still do the research work, but a point in the right direction can't hurt.

You guys must know. So..........Lay it on me, my brothers!

  3. I'm 46 years old. Had a marginal job with Dr. Anderson in Bellevue WA (he's out of the business I hear).

I have long hair. Long as in down my back.

I don't want to cut it off to do another procedure. Anyone have exp. with no shaving the area and putting in small grafts between the existing hairs. I heard that the existing hairs fall out, it that a high likelihood.

Any guideance (and doctor recommendations) would be appreciated.

This is a killer site. I wish I would have run across it prior to my first procedure.

  5. I had 700 grafts done by Dr Anderson in Bellevue Washington on 11/2003. I still have numbness around the strip area (sometimes some light pain).

I did not know about this forum prior to making my decision to go to, in my opinion, THE BUTCHER.

    Good luck.

  6. I wanted to ask if there were any of you out there that have had a HT procedure and kept your long hair?

I have hair down to my sholders and was wondering if anyone knows of a good HT doc that can work around the long hair.

Without sounding too much like a rich ***hole, money is not a concern. Finding a doc that can work around the long hair, is.

    Thanks to everyone.

  8. I had a small 700 graft session on 11/03 with marginal satisfaction. The Doctor was Dr. Anderson out of Bellevue Washington. Would not recommend (in fact, I don't think he is even doing HT any longer).

I am looking for a recommendation for the best HT doc. While a local doc would be preferable, travel is fine.

Also, is there a doc in the country that has had success with the one-at-a-time removal and placement (instead of the strip removal then placement)?

Any guidance would be appreciated. I want to nail it this time.

  10. JCWHair,

10 weeks and no shock loss. STUD! Good for you.

What Doc did your HT work?

Jotronic, are there predictable directions that hair grows on a head? If so, could your Docs carefully place FUs in the predicted angle? Time in the chair or cost does not concern me. I am like Sampson.....All my strength comes from my long hair.

  11. Thanks Jotonic,

A question? Have you heard of much success in placing HT hairs in between existing hairs. Most of the conversation and pictures are guys with bald areas on top of their heads. I have hair, just thinned out. I have heard that their is a high probability of damaging existing hairs when trying to place HT hairs in between existing ones.

What you do know about this?

    Thanks.

  12. Has anyone heard at what age hairloss typically begins and typically ends?

It seems that if someone is going to naturally maintain a full head of hair, they never lose any hair, while a man that starts to lose some hair, eventually loses all? I.E. Do men go from a Norwood 3 to a Norwood 6 regardless, or do some stop at a Norwood 3 and never advance?

The reason for my question is that I am a 43 year old male. I am at a Norwood 3-4 and have been for 10 years. I have had one HT and will probably do one more. My concern is this: The consensus of this forum is that one should wait until his hair loss stablizes, because you don't want future hair loss to impair your HT hairs (as your hair continues to fall out, you will get bare spots behind the transplanted hair).

  14. A bald man,

    I thoroughly enjoyed your composition.

This forum has become a limb of my life these past few weeks. I secretly scan the prose to find answers to my own questions.

People are evil and the great American has become a superfical follower, incapable of self-direction or thought.

Write on and I shall continue to learn.

    Wookie.

P.S. While it is true that baldness defines you today, I do not believe that the condition of your appearance will define you tomorrow.
