Yes it leaves scars. You need to be on medication to keep the rest of your hair.

Hi @Melvin- Admin - what about if hair loss is at Norwood 7? With just a few miniaturised on mid scalp a d some normal hair maybe. Do you think medication is still required?

I have asked a few clinics about medication. Dr yaman says medication is not required but he says you can use multivitamins instead. Eugenix said finasteride must be taken as it can help the miniaturised hair on mid scalp.

I'm curious how/why clinics differ on this subject. I'm considering a procedure as a Norwood 7 but don't want to take finasteride or minoxidil and would only rely on multivitamins.

I had surgery with Dr. Yaman last year, and I can't say enough good things about him. He's a skilled surgeon who genuinely cares about his patients' well-being. My advice would be to follow his pre-op instructions, ask any questions you have, and trust that you're in capable hands. Wishing you a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery!

Hi @Cayden - I'm curious, what are his pre op instructions? Except taking finasteride ofcourse

Hi, I will post the donor soon. I've got the band on due to swelling.

Looking forward to seeing more pics especially of the donor. Thanks for sharing.

Did Dr Yaman say anything about needing future procedures to get full coverage? I'm curious as to get full coverage with just over 6000 grafts would be impressive.

Or did he say the crown will remain a bit thin or something?

I have a very tight work schedule and the possibility of a second appointment again was not an option.  This is why I chose the two day session.

I did not request the manual extraction.  That was what Dr. Yaman and his team chose.

I don’t have any scars, none visible any way.

I will post some pictures this weekend.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.  If you choose Dr. Yaman, you will not be sorry.  Very professional and skilled with his work.  I’d do it again.  Best decision I’ve ever made.

Thank you... looking forward to seeing your pics!

  5. Hi @Bald47 - do you have any updates & pics to share please?

I also have some questions which I'd really appreciate if you could answer...

    1. Were there any advantages/disadvantages to doing both sessions on 2 consecutive days? I would have thought doing the 2nd session 1 year or so later would be less risky?

    2. You mentioned extractions were done via manual punch - was this because you chose to do it on 2 consecutive days? I thought Dr Yaman usually use motorised extractions, especially if they need to save time over the 2 days. What was the reason manual extraction was done?

    3. How are your scars looking on the donor area and beard? I've heard manual extraction has less scarring.

    Many thanks!
