Good stuff, I agree with most, I would take issue with the idea that you canā€™t grow new follicles with minoxidil though - thatā€™s what it does! See the Reddit link in my previous post on this thread for a huge amount of evidence of that. Although itā€™s true if thereā€™s no hair there at all thereā€™s less chance of getting a good result on the beard with minox.

@New_Barnet_PleaseĀ Would you mind sharing results? and clinic you used?Ā Ā :)Ā

    Hey everyone, my update:

I tried minoxidil and dermarolling for a year. I was super consistent, religiously applying twice a day. And in the end, I just didn't see much new hair growth in the cheeks, where I wanted it the most. My chin and mustache did get a bit thicker though, so that's nice. So I'm basically back where I was before. I agree with you all that scalp-to-beard is probably not the smartest use of hair, and that I should instead find someone who transplants neck beard hair to the cheeks. I've reached out to Eugenix, where Dr. Bensal does beard transplants, for a cost estimate. Earlier in this post, Melvin also recommendedĀ Dr. Mwamba in Atlanta, True and Dorin in New York, and Umar as well in California.Ā

Let me know if you all have any other recommendations for drs who have performed beard-to-beard transplants. I'm open to looking outside the US as well. If the price is decent, I might even get some FUE on my temples from the back of my scalp. This was something I had in mind reaching out to Eugenix. Thanks again!

Update? Iā€™m in the same boat šŸ˜Š @BeardHopeful

  3. Objective: Get your recommendation on Turkish clinics I have narrowed down for a Beard Transplantation (taking donor grafts from the back of my head)

Situation:Ā Hello everyone! Something I've considered myself blessed with in my life is a decent head of hair - something I've considered myself cursed with is terrible facial hair. what i have can be summarized asĀ

    • I have a strong moustache and a patchy goatee
    • Negligible amount of mature hair follicles in lower part of 'would be' sideburns andĀ almost nothing on my cheeks

After thorough research on clinics in Turkey, I've grouped them as follows. I've either found them due to their highly reputed Surgeon OR because I saw at least one decent beard transplant before/after photo/video

    1. High priced: HLC, Asmed, AHD, Bicer, Civas & Hair of Istanbul (yet to get assessment from FUE Capilar)Ā
    2. Medium-High: Smile, Vera, Cinik, Cosmedica, Este Medical Group, Bayer
    3. Medium-Low: Hermest, ElitHair, Dr.T, Panaroma Hair, Hair Center of Turkey, Turkey Hair Transplant, EsteNove
    4. Low Priced: NIMclinic, EvaEsthetic (and other not so well known clinics)Ā

    Challenges:Ā

    • While some of the High priced clinics have excellent reputation in general on Hair restoration, only HLC and AHD could provide decent before/after photos of beard transplant cases they have done beforeĀ
    • Medium-High/Low category clinics have mixed reviews: some great and then some really scary onesĀ
    • Medium-Lows also seem to have very low physician involvement in the entire procedureĀ
    • Low-priced clinics have a bit of all of the above challenges. e.g., Evaesthetic provided great before/after photos but little to no doctor involvementĀ

I would REALLY appreciate your thoughts as to

    • which category should I go with if I could afford it all?
    • go with DHI or Sapphire? or doesn't matter?Ā
    • should i even consider the medium-lows and low-priced clinics?Ā

Thanks in advance for your insights!!!Ā
