How’s it looking now bud given all scabs should be off and donor largely healed. Have you got some pics to share?

Indeed - was waiting to go over the one month mark to make the updates. I think i ve entered the shedding phase- scabs have all come off and I havent seen much redness (?) but probably because London s been quite gloomy for the last 10 days or so lol56666C08-DF1C-4FD2-AFDF-FCDF042BF224.thumb.jpeg.c0583536e8d82b5ee2053cc0e7999972.jpeg39494913-ED77-4C03-8669-699FAC356522.thumb.jpeg.882b34c69db77985de423017641c245a.jpeg01452318-63BE-436D-8977-5998770BE7D7.thumb.jpeg.464d502eaf8f6825846f887d633e2048.jpeg

Mate looks flawless… face has been framed perfectly. Donor is practically undetectable. This is typical Dr Mittal work. I wouldn’t worry about the singles. His team won’t implant grafts that won’t take. Looks like you’ve got good Retention of implanted hairs including the singles. You’ll get a spectacular result just make sure you take finasteride to prevent further loss.

Have you been in touch with the clinic post op. Has Dr M’ steam been helpful in guiding you?

Thanks ! Very encouraging words as i know the ugly duckling phase is coming haha - will need some positive encouragment thru the next 3 months ( i ll probably try to share monthly updates with pics)

I have got the 1 year s worth of Fin to take as well, so that actually is good money saved on my part (i ve been taking 1mg Fin daily for the last 4 years, with oral min).

Dr Mittal has been in touch with me everyday post op so far as well, checking on the pics everyday. So far so good, and fingers crossed in 3 months time this will turn out nicely (just in time for any summer trip or vacatio n i have haha)

  3. Was just about to post this later today - day 9 post op, most scabs have come off now. Density looks a bit sparse (I guess to be expected, immediately post op obv it looks a lot more dense). I havent entered the shedding phase yet (i think)

Donor is looking okay so far (please do ignore the thinning on my crown - this was before the surgery already and i plan to fix it in 2-5 years time with another HT)

What do you guys think of the overall healing/post op recovery so far ? Should the sensity still work out for my hairline ?

  4. Thanks ! Yes a lot of the singles had gone to my 2 temples (my right side required quite a far bit of reconstruction).

Dr Mani did mention that for manufactured singles (i.e those split from a double or triple), there s a chance they wont take. Wondering if everyone knows the % chance of this happening ?

You have chosen a great surgeon ...work looks dense packed and i believe the new hair density will match your native hair density perfectly ...will be following your journey closely...did he advised you to be on medication ? All the extraction and incisions done by him? And implantation is done by his team?

So medication : i m already on Finasteride and Oral Minoxidl for the last 3 years, and will continue both going forward

For the procedure: yes all anasthetic delivery, extraction, incision are done by Dr Mani (I was his only patient for the day). The implantation was done by his tech team, but Dr Mani was there every 30 min or so to look at the tech work and requested changes. I believe i had 3 rows of singles, 2 rows of doubles and 2 rows of triples. The new hairs were placed amongst my forelocks as well since it was thinning out (you can tell from my long hair look),

  6. Hi - so long story short, i recently had a transplant session with Dr Manish Mittal (on wednesday), for 1,844 grafts into my hairline.

Attached are my pre ops pics (with long hair) and ones with shaven hair (before implantation). D437B5B3-3C7D-44F8-B983-524E870B39E0.thumb.jpeg.ec6249a18ce6fbea823a25e0955bebcd.jpegAB9C369B-24D7-4C83-B5DF-5ACEC9296074.thumb.jpeg.8afd9dd35e28e8e38bc940879fe42efc.jpeg9A8549B7-C38E-496F-AD5F-3928FC2F441F.thumb.jpeg.de4b3702221604ef8792394eac1e9ac4.jpegE7933C98-69A7-4B47-8DE6-2332B3E7B9C6.thumb.jpeg.9d53c8fce21ad76ea8c4d065c0eeb779.jpegA48A0469-5368-4D03-821F-4CFEED828150.thumb.jpeg.bfb57449985378d930fbf7371106e914.jpeg

    And total hair count:

Overall i would say the experience was very smooth and comfortable. Dr Mani was involved in all key steps (injecting anesthestic, extraction, cutting the initial incision). During implantation (which was done by his two lovely technicians), he was back in after every 30min or so to check if the planting was done correctly

What do you guys think of the overall hairline design and density ? Have to say on Day 0 it was very densely packed (which is the most important bit for me) and the little hair bulbs looked like tiny oysters stuck on an old bridge lol. Let me know what everyone thinks !

Glad to hear the consultation went well mate! Yeah for sure, I felt pretty at ease with Mani at the consultation, and it's one of the reasons I went with him. And on the day his demeanour definitely made me less nervous.

Sounds like a good plan mate. I think do as much reading as you can about post op care. I did a post on here about a post op shopping list on my profile, here's the link. Russ will send an information pack so you'll know what to expect and you'll get a goody back with the stuff you'll need but always good to go to a pharmacy beforehand to get some essentials. I also filled the fridge with loads of quick easy food to make and pot noodles etc. I spent my recovery playing playstation lol.

Thanks mate ! Defo will start my own thread as well - my ops day of 12 April is coming up soon, getting quite excited, especially having seen your good results after just a few months :)

As a reply to your comments - So i'm just over two months since surgery. I think ive gone through the worst stage which is probably about 4-7 weeks where you shed all the new hair - and in my opinion it feels like you shed some natural hair which you had before - due to the surgery site. (not surprising since you have over 2000 cuts made in your head). The area also looks red for a while too. The normal hair is growing back now - its hard to tell from these pictures as its quite light and fine - From what ive been told you only start to notice real new growth at 3 months (due to a 90 day hair cycle or something). So probably in a situation now similar to that just before the surgery - taking the finasteride - and this is totally what i expected due to the information I received prior to surgery from my surgeon (who was totally excellent).

    11 week hair transplant update.

Dr Manish Mittal performed my hair transplant, on meeting him he made me feel relaxed about the procedure I was confident and had complete faith in him. After seeing Dr Mani's work on Instagram there was no one other than him, I was going to go to.

Reasons for getting transplant done is wanting to feel confident when out in the public. Losing hair is not a nice feeling its just always on your mind!

Im now on my 11th week and its been a tough 11 weeks having to where hats to hide the fact you've had a hair transplant but i know its going to be worth it.

That s gonna be my plan as well haha. I m praying actually that weather continue to stay cold and i dont have to come out too much during April/May time.

Ops now booked in for 12/04 so hopefully by the time it s really hot (i.e. July, i would have gone past the 3 months ugly duckling phase, and can actually travel around with a hat :)

Awesome, have you booked the consultation yet? I think it depends on when you wanted it done. For me personally I knew I could plan a gap in work in January (I'm freelance, the start of the year is always slow, social wise most my mates are usually burnt out in January after christmas so not a lot happens lol). I had my consultation in August last year and they were able to find a date for me in Jan. If you have a date in mind the sooner you can have a consultation and book the better I guess in terms of getting the date you want.

I started socialising from the 2 weeks mark so from around then for me I'd say. Can see in the 2 week photos above the donor was a little pink if you look closely but no scabs and just looked like I had a short back and sides. Saw family at 3 weeks and they said at that point you couldn't tell, donor had grown back so it was completely covered.

Yeah i have had, Dr Mani is probably one of the most chilled person (not just a doctor) that i ve ever met actually.

i think i ll book it in for Easter, as i can get a 2-3 weeks period of leave and working from home. Ppl probably will know i had a hair transplant (coz i m going the full shaven route), but i m back office in a bank so dont think that would be too much of a problem

I had a consultation with Dr Mani at the beginning of Feb, and have booked in with him in late September. He advised he doesn't take many bookings over Summer, and his busiest period is the end of the year November/December. When enquiring about September, a few dates had already been taken.

Thanks ! Did you book September because there was no availability from now until then ?
