I was wondering If anyone here had 3 FUT transplant's, I have a 3rd surgery scheduled. The FUT doesn't really impact my existing hair I mean isn't even slightly impacting it. I dont really wanna have FUE and have my entire hair structure compromised & generally thinned out with this procedure on my 3rd surgery (the surgeon recomended FUE).

Well I am regretting it now. Going for my second transplant & they said unlikely I will get it totally fixed. If I took finasteride earlier I'd probably be just fine with 2 transplants I would certainly hope. Far less coverage needed. But Yeah it wasn't the best idea to delay it so long.

I'm about 50 and i never got on finasteride, i finally got a hair transplant. But the coverage would of been so so so much less if i had tried it so much earlier in life.
I feel like i could of gone through my 40's with much better hair if I got on this when i was 30 or so. My hair deteriorated rapidly though my 40's looking at pics, you have to really question what the hell i was thinking not slowing it down.
I guess we shall never know but i feel like I could have really prevented the damage that occurred leaving it untreated.

Could you recommend a place to get topical dutasteride?

To be clear, dutasteride has been FDA approved for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) or an enlarged prostate. See https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/nda/2001/21319_Duagen.cfm for more information.
So when someone is speaking about FDA approval, it should be discussed within the context of a particular condition. While dutasteride has been FDA approved for BPH, it has not been approved for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) aka genetic hair loss.
But as already suggested, just because dutasteride hasn’t been tested and approved for the treatment of male pattern baldness doesn’t necessarily mean not an effective treatment.
When you compare dutasteride to finasteride, finasteride has proven to inhibit type 2 5-alpha reductase enzymes whereas to test drive has been proven to inhibit both type 1 and type 2 5-alpha reductase enzymes. Both types facilitate the creation of DHT or dihydrotestosterone (The hormone responsible for carrying out genetic hair loss) when it combines with testosterone.
Since finasteride only inhibits one type of 5-alpha reductase enzymes, DHT is still produced using type 1. As a result, dutasteride is clearly more potent than finasteride and has a better chance of slowing down, stopping reversing effects of male pattern baldness.
I always tell those considering medical treatment to first consider finasteride and then after a year, if they feel it’s not working, to try moving onto to test drive. It’s more potent which means it also has a greater potential for side effects.
I hope this helps

This confused me some. I thought dutasteride was used in place of Oral minoxidil.
This sounds like it's a replacement for finasteride.
Would you use Dutasteride and Oral Minoxidil together?
Or Dutasteride and Finasteride together?

I'm looking for a mix of these two topicals. All i'm having luck finding is the dumb subscription based stuff like Happy head. I'm sure someone on here could direct me to a better place? to purchase...

This imo is a very acute form of retrograde alopecia but some may disagree with me calling it that. I do not know if you are taking any medication at present but i do think maybe a combination of Finasteride and oral/topical Minoxodil may help, but please be prepared that it also is highly unlikely to regrow as its an incredibly difficult thing to deal with compared to just regular male pattern baldness which is more linear in nature.
I personally think its worth trying and give it 12-24 months. Maybe even try Microneedling the area. Although not a common thing for the donor, it might help.
Yes i been doing micro needling. Not alot of success. I just started Oral Minoxidil. I was told by my doctors that this had the best chance of success. For some reason this was one of the first areas i had real trouble. It's along the bottom and a bit thin around top of my ears to the temple in a thin strip. I was under the impression that fixing it with topical Minoxodil doesn't work well it that area but i haven't tried it.
I will certainly post some success if i have it with oral minoxodil.
Hopefully someone had some success regrowing in this area.

How often is the 2.5mg taken? Mon/wens/fri?

I am on first week of starting finasteride taking 1mg Mon/ wens/ Friday
Is this a normal routine for most people? Or do most use it daily?

I not really interested in a debate on effectiveness of Low laser red light.
I am in a hair forum and wonder which of the 3 options is the best to use on the top of my head.
For Mito pro
we have red light
or (nir) Near red light
or both.
some stats
LEDs: 50% Red and 50% Near Infrared (NIR)
LED Peak Wavelengths: 25% 630nm, 25% 660nm, 25% 830nm, 25% 850nm -
I had this very same question My scar is very sore I'm much more inclined to help it heal than to do nothing.

My Doctor said some patients have growth at 18 months it's individual dependent.

fertilizer for the grafts. I know about PRP results. But i was more considering it helping the survival rate of the grafts based on information he stated.

I was watching an interesting video yesterday from Sam Lam Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Acell Technology to Improve Hair Transplant Results.
I am wondering if anyone tried it with a transplant? He says it acts like a fertilizer and helps improve graft survival rate.
I inquired about A-cell pre-surgery and doctor stated it was more for FUE healing.

Thank you sir. That was exactly what i was worried about. I didn't do it yet. I been just spraying distilled water still on day 4 to try and slow the scabbing. I was pretty religious about doing it every 30 mins the first 48 hours. day 3 at night my scalp started to get first signs of being itchy. Today day 4 my scar & sutures are very sore.

I seen a hair restoration place suggest this yesterday. I can't recall so much which one as i was in quite a deep dive. To use aquaphor to aid in healing.
Anyone ever use this method.
Had my grafts put in on monday 11/7 so they are quite secure now.
I seen also this from Northwest hair restoration. Using copper peptides to aid in wound healing.
from the website
a spritz infused with copper peptides that aid in healing and help keep the area moisturized.
Anyone try this?
Scar is really sore today i had FUT procedure. Feels like someone pulling my hair as the scalp is much tighter.
Anyone here have 3 FUT transplant's?

So it would appear there is no reason why I can't have 3 of them? The surgeon seemed to think the harvested grafts would "drop" significantly. But i have no issue's with a tight scalp in fact after my second I had no pain with my scalp being tight. After the first one I certainly had a tight scalp feeling but it dissappered after a month or 2.
