So it’s been 12 months since last surgery. I fly out next week for what should be the very last HT I ever have. To say I am happy with where the Eugenix team have got me in this surgery is an understatement. From slick bald most of my life to having hair again is a weird feeling and I know how blessed I am to be in this position. Hopefully next week will be the icing on the cake to sort out the bits that give me OCD. But I am one happy guy for sure!!!

I've been keeping an eye on your journey for the past year or so, we actually visited Eugenix a few weeks apart last January so your case always stood out to me.

What an unbelievable result you've got! You must be over the moon.

I'm a bit envious of your result to be honest haha, but really happy for you.

Good luck with your procedure next week 🤝

  2. 1 year update

    Happy new year all.

1 year to the day since my hair transplant with Eugenix. Can’t quite believe we’re at a year already.

Have included some photos outside and some inside in more favourable lighting.

photos taken just after a shower with zero product in at all.

In need of a hair cut, I will upload some more next week after my trim.

still taking 1mg of finasteride daily.

Would be interested to know if anyone has any advice or opinions as to whether I should switch it up to something else like minoxodil or anything….

As ever, let me know what you think…

It’s been two years since my journey, time flies. We’re no longer in a pandemic. Exciting things on the horizon like Vertoporfin. I have feeling there will be something revolutionary on the horizon. Hope you all had a great holiday 🙏

    Amazing result!

Such a huge difference from where you started. Although to be fair, you pull off the shaved look on the left photo too.

A big thank you as always for doing what you do! 🤝

    18 Month update

Well, it’s more of a 19 month update, but very pleased with how the crown is looking (which is at 12 months). Beard hair has started to blend in well with the crown hair. Though I’m really happy with the crown, I do think 700 grafts would really improve things here and seal the deal. I will probably do another procedure early next year, to finish things off. Also, the work to improve my temples on the second procedure has paid off too. Feels like I’m almost complete with the hair restoration journey,  hard to believe that just over 18 months ago I was a bona fide Norwood 7!

  5. 6 month update

These last 6 months have flown by, can’t quite believe we’re here already.

Photos taken just after a shower apart from the last 2.

no fibres or product used in any of the photos.

I used to use fibres practically everyday prior to this second transplant but barely use them at the moment. Feel I have more coverage now in the crown area particularly. I still use fibres on occasion but way way less than before.

have included a photo from my last trim which was on the 20th of June, to show the donor with a zero.

as ever, let me know what you think 🤝🏼

Hi guys, here is my Month 8 progress. The widow's peak formation has probably been the most prominent in terms of overall thickening and maturity from month 7 to 8. I feel like the hairline has dropped visually because of of the growth in that area.

I was keeping my hair longer on top and the sides but realized that as I grew it out, I was dealing with a lot more split ends and breaking as my hair would thin out with more length.  Because I have wavy hair it was also curling out making it very difficult to style. I decided to cut it down a little on top, and go with the high and tight look.

This is the first time I got a zero cut fade on the sides since the procedure and was the true test to see if the 5200 + grafts extracted would stand its ground and hold up in all areas. My hairdresser could barely see where the extractions were unless he really focused his eyes on it up close. And that was after he shaved me down at 0. With how homogenously the donor was managed, it really sets me up beautifully if I ever needed more work done in the future. I'm so fortunate to have had some of the best techs in the business at @Eugenix Hair Sciences managing that part of the procedure for me.

    7 months update

    Hi All

Im seriously thinking of growing out a ponytail to help fully close up crown hence the couple of pics attached with hair band to give a peek as to how things might look scraped back .

Pics are 5 mins after shower with towel dry no product of any sort In hair ..just comb

one indoor pic from behind in favourable lighting to show you how the beard grafts sit naturally without product

One thing of note is I’ve stopped applying fibres over the last month .

Just kind of happened organically such is the improvements I’m seeing I’m feeling confident enough to do this ..I’ll always  have some in reserve though

Looking great mate. Can see the improvement month on month.

Imagine a few years ago saying you were going to grow your hair out to a ponytail or man bun.... 😅 What a great turnaround!

Great advice RE the Donor too. Trust the process and evaluate when the time is right.

what are your thoughts on your donor area? Do you plan on keeping it that short? You can clearly tell where the chunk of the donor area was taken and it doesn't blend in with the rest of the hair.

Hi mate. Agreed that at the moment the donor is still definitely recovering. To people somewhat educated on transplants it is noticeable, but to someone who isn't, I'm not sure if it is.

Anyway, I'm not going to make any judgements on anything until I'm a few months further down the line. Have seen many posts on here where it seems people manage to talk themselves into unnecessary worry far too early in the process.

  9. 4 Month update

Photos were taken on Saturday which was 4 months on from the 6th of January and my procedure at Eugenix.

My hair is roughly the length I used to have it pre transplant/headshave.

Again, difficult to tell with native and 1st transplant hair growing back, but I feel there has been some subtle improvements.

Photos were taken a week or so after a hair cut (skin fade)

Still early days but probably coming into the months with most activity growth wise now.

Still taking 1mg of finasteride daily, as ever. Have been wondering recently if it’s something I should switch up. See a lot of people on here taking minoxidil instead or as well as finasteride.

any advise or questions greatly appreciated 🤝🏼

I can see the density beginning to improve for sure! The next couple of months is where the magic will happen. Also I wouldn't focus too much on comparing to your pre-surgery pics (just yet!) , I say this because you had quite a bit of length then, whereas now it is comparably much shorter, as you buzzed down for surgery. I would say everything looks right on track, and is very much following the process typical of a typical Eugenix transplant. I will be following your case quite closely, as we have quite similar hair characteristics, plus I intend to do a density sitting in 12 months time, so nice to gauge expectations. Donor-wise don't stress too much. you are only at 3 months and need to give yourself at least six for it to recover (reading Karl's & Melvin threads will give you the reassurances needed). Cheers for update!

Agreed John, very little point analysing too much just yet. We're still fairly early into the process. I'm sure we'll see plenty happening in the months to come 🌱

How many grafts are you looking at for your density sitting? I'm sure I'm not alone when I say you don't particularly need another procedure, but we all strive for perfect coverage don't we 😆

Crown is coming in great now, few more months and the transformation will be complete!

@finchy any particular  reason why you didn’t opt for darling buds for your second HT as well?

I just felt Eugenix had produced lots and lots of excellent results over the past few years and based on the many posts on here and reviews I'd seen, that they would be the place to go this time around. Having seen lots of patient testimonials and spoken to a few of the people who had been to Eugenix for their procedure I felt in safe hands.

I would still say my procedure with Darling Buds met expectations at the time and was successful. I haven't seen much of Darling Buds on here over the last few years, but I was satisfied with my results. 👍

  12. 100 day update

100 days (3 and a bit months) since my HT with Eugenix.

Hopefully should be through the ugly ducking phase now and the fun should be starting soon! 🌱

The hair from my first transplant and my native hair are almost back to how they were before this procedure and the donor is still recovering. Progress wise it’s hard to tell if much has happened just yet as any new hair will be blending in with hair already there.

I can't give my opinion on my final results just yet as I'm only 12 weeks in (today) since my HT with Eugenix. But I completely agree, the hospitality and customer care is outstanding. The aftercare I received is fantastic. Hoping for final results like yours in the months to come!

Great write up and all the best going forward! 🤝
