I appreciate all feed back and your logic is sound. Further loss would be an issue that would need to be addressed. Obviously your stating the number one reason why people don’t follow through with appointments I’m assuming or if not the top reason at least in the top 3. Do you have a picture of your experience? I’m very curious… what didn’t you like about your experience?

I'm sorry I don't want to share pictures.

Dr. K said it best you're not a good candidate for this, if a very ethical doctor like him tells you that then you should listen. It's very clear in everything you say and how you feel about all this that you wouldn't become a good patient so you're most likely not going to have an optimal outcome in your mind.

What some others that have posted on here haven't took into consideration is your mindset on this and expections. Yes of course you can get a transplant that's not the question, yes it's possible to have very good results as well. The question is are you the right candidate for one? In my opinion, no. Dr. K feels the same it seems, that should say it all.

You mentioned other issues you're experiencing and therapy. I think that's a much better choice for you at this time. Good luck with everything.

I just think from everything you've posted so far and your expectations you would not be happy with a transplant. Like others have said even the very best transplants are not quite the same as natural hair. I think you'll be chasing a look and never be completely satisfied.

Keep in mind if you densly pack your front hairline and have more loss behind it then you are committed to multiple more surgeries the rest of your life just trying to maintain a natural looking pattern. Having a created frontal hairline with thinning hair behind it is not a good look at all. There is nothing wrong though with just a natural looking pattern aging gracefully.

I'd stay on the meds and reevaluate your situation in another 5 years or so and go from there. I think therapy like you mentioned may be a better help for you.

Would be good to see some pics of your crown grown out/before you had your HT

    Anyway, to answer your question

Rogaine Minoxidil twice a day -

Proven and effective medication in regrowing hair when there are miniaturised hairs present. 5mg daily Oral minoxidil is also an option you could look into.

    Finastiride 1mg once a day -

Proven and effective medication in dramatically slowing down the miniaturisation process, and often times is able to regrow and thicken miniaturised hairs. Great when used in conjunction with minoxidil. An even more effective medication you may also wish to look into would be 0.5mg daily dutasteride.

PRP treatment twice a month for 6 months

    - Waste of time and money. . Potentially an ok option to use immediately Post hair transplant surgery to improve recovery of the scalp from the plasma rich healing properties.

Laser Therapy once a month for 6 months

    - Will do little to absolutely nothing

Derma Roller twice or 3 times a week

    - 1x every 10 days is the reportedly optimum frequency. 1.5mm needle

I would agree with all that.

One thing I'd like to add is that I feel they harvested pretty high up where I feel you're going to have loss if you don't stay on a dht blocker. Just something to consider. I think you'll get some crown regrowth with those meds but the crown will still be thin.

Difficult to say at this point to be completely honest. I also forgot to mentioned that I had a shed phase which I read was normal. That lasted about 3 weeks and was a bit annoying.

I see a lot of smaller hairs growing on the hair line but not sure if those are vellus or new hairs.

I have my first surgery with Dr. Bisanga on Sept 27th so i'll jump off a week or two before per the instructions from the clinic and resume after of course.

He recommended to stop oral minoxidil a week before surgery? I wasn't sure if that was just for topical minoxidil only.

Hey Guys! about to post a series of pics . I will try to keep them somewhat organized. I will start with my donor stats and what was used.

Dr. Nader stated that 80+ FUs/cm2 is classified as a thick donor area.

    Unfortunately I am only 60-65+ FUs/cm2 ...I had two small FUT ( 1998 and 2008) ...about 2k grafts

Here is the breakdown of what was used for 1726 grafts :

    singles: 314

    doubles : 1042

    triples : 349

    quads : 21

    avg 2.04 fu/cm2

As you can see in the photos donor area was shaved ...implant area was cut short ..almost buzzed. I did not ask to keep longer hair or to buzz all the way. Dr. Nader made this decision. I do wish, I could have covered more temples and lower the hairline BUT ...I do not think my donor supply would have allowed this and to have a thick enough result. I feel thickness is more important. Guess I shall see in 2022 .

Who did your first FUT procedures?

My first run w/ doctor K I was nervous; the second time I was so excited. You're in good hands.

Having two FUTs limited how short I could cut the sides. Since it was the pandemic and wfh and all, I thought I'd knock it out shortly after my second procedure.

Looks great, was your FUTs closed up with stitches or staples? Before the grafts in the scar the shortest you could cut it was a 4?
