Also, on the other hand, if a person has really strong and fast hair growing (before HT) does that means they will most likely get faster results after the HT?

I just think it’s an interesting topic and wanted to hear more opinions.

Let me put it this way: I wouldn’t do anything lower than that. Specially because I don’t want it to be too much noticeable.

Yes true. That is the “best” result one can hope for. Some of the younger patients aren’t aware of what a single pass can look like though. Similar to thinking a buzz cut post surgery will work. With a top surgeon he’ll be in safer hands though. 

Can you elaborate, please? It’s not realistic to expect to be able to have a buzzcut after a HT? Even for a very small area near the hairline? I’m genuinely curious, since I’m not having a 2cm or 3cm lowering. It’s much less drastic.

I don’t know, but in my case I’m only hoping to fix my hairline and be able to style my hair without having to cover it. Not planing on going for a buzzcut tho. Also a buzzcut right now doesn’t fit me because of my hairline. Hopefully the HT allows me to have one if I change my mind?

This is the closest case to mine I could find so far, when it comes to extension and wanting to just fix the hairline. Except this guy had some hair loss in the sides and my problem is more in the central area also I have curly hair.

I want to see more cases similar to that to see the evolution and what to expect. I’m talking around 800 - 1000 grafts in the hairline. Any links available? Thanks. 

EDIT: important, please ignore the temples in the example Iinked above. I don’t have hair loss in the temples like that guy. I would have 800 grafts only in the central area to lower and strengthen the hairline, leaving me with a more horizontal hairline instead of the curved one I currently have (center is higher than sides). 

Ok guys.

- I’m 31 and my hairline has been the same since I’m a kid. No signs of hair loss so far.

- I double checked and the doctor actually said 800 grafts.

- The plan is to reinforce and even up my current hairline (lowering only some parts) in order to fix its shape.

- It’s indeed a small surgery, but it’s something that has bothered me my entire life. I can’t style my hair because of this.

- Even tho I suffer daily because of this, I can’t avoid thinking that if something goes wrong it can make things worse. 

- The line the doctor draw is really close to my current hairline and no temporal corners will be needed. I’ll try to get the picture with the clinic.

- I’m overall confident about the surgery plan and the new proposed hairline. I’m insecure about the results and the waiting game. 

Any updates on your guys opinions based on this? Any comment is very much appreciated. And if someone knows of a similar case, I would love to see. Thanks. 

Hi, I’m new here.

I’m trying to decide whether or not a HT would be good for me. I don’t have hair loss but I have a naturally high (and oddly shaped) hairline. 

I had a consultation and the doctor said I would need around 600 - 800 grafts to slightly lower my hairline and fix it’s shape.

Anyone knows of similar cases? I would like to see some pictures to have an idea of what to expect. Curly hairs are preferable, since that’s my hair type.

Also, is it realistic to expect faster healing and/or growing due to the small amount of grafts and reduced area of surgery? I mean, it may cause less trauma than average, right? 

Any help is much appreciated. Like many here I’m very insecure and trying to study as much as I can in order to make the best decision. I’ve heard many cases are shared here and maybe someone knows of a similar case and are kind enough to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
