  1. Dear all!

    This is my monthly update!
I included 2 pic of my hair dry and other 2 with my hair wet.

The area of baldness appear to be shrinking but I experienced some increased shedding which was very concerning for me!
It started every time I wash my hair or rub the cream when I apply it, I see more hair in my fingertips!
Fortunately it decreased gradually throughout the month and I was able to reach to my dermatologist through Xyon and she assured me that this is not uncommon and should get better gradually. I will continue the treatment and I hope my hair gets little bit thicker and the shedding stops!

Asking this sincerely in the least 'attempting-to-be-rude' way possible...

Why not ensure consistent hair length for each next set of pics to truly visually illustrate the efficacy of this whole thing?

That’s a good point! it’s just I don’t like cut my hair too often!

It can be little challenging to make sure every time it’s the exact hair cut but in general if there is significant hair growth then it should show regardless!

Do you still irregularly apply minoxidil?

Yes I do! I’m not a big fan of top min, it start to fall on my forehead and I find it difficult to be compliant! But this been going on for years now since I had hair loss! I’m considering oral min, but will do after finishing the year of Xyon to see the results

What are H&W going to gain from these orchestrated Xyon patient threads when they’re pretty much all using them in conjunction with other meds, aside from cynical comments and speculation from the community that the other adjuncts are likely producing the results?

I’m pretty much just using Xyon at this point, I’m also taking Biotin supplements but that’s it!

I was planning initially to use minoxidil topical daily but haven’t been consistent, maybe I apply it once every 2-3 days!

  5. Hello everyone!

I am posting about a month update since I started using topical Xyon.

What I like so far, It’s easier to apply because it’s a thick gel so it won’t start seeding to the forehead like topical minoxidil.
However, since its a gel I feel its harder to cover all my scalp with just 1ml. I can use 2 ml every other day but I’m sticking with 1ml daily to keep the routine. I don’t feel my hair is getting thicker or fuller yet! It’s probably early to judge.
In the pic below my hair is longer as I didn’t cut it since my last post! I will try to add a pic with my hair wet every time for objective reference

  6. Hello everyone,

I’m starting this thread as part of signing up to try topical Xyon Gel for 1 year to share my result and experience.

I’m 35 years old with Norwood 5/6, I started having hair loss in my late 20’s but it was not until 2 years ago when I Niaz noticeable loss in crown and hairlines, I started using oral finasteride for over a year now, and I didn’t have any side effects but I didn’t feel it made any difference in my hair loss, I also use topical minoxidil but not too compliant with it!
I had my first and only HT on May 2022 for crown and conservative hairline, I’m starting to see some results now as I’m heading to my fifth month. I had no transplant at all in my midscalp area! I decided to try Xyon with hope it will be effective in increasing the density in my midscalp mainly and hopefully with crown too!
My current regimen will be daily topical finasteride (Xyon) and topical Minoxidil. I’ll be posting updates and pic every 1-2 months.

Please feel free to ask any questions! I’m attaching recent pic prior to starting Xyon for reference.

Disclosure: I’m participating in a 12 month Xyon campaign in which I share my unbiased and honest experience along with follow up pictures and I’ll be getting the supply for free throughout my 1 year journey!

People here will often say "DO NOT CONSIDER PRICE IN DECIDING YOUR DOCTOR OR IF YOU WANT A HT" but honestly I find that a bit extreme. There are a select few number of great Doc's in places like Mexico and Turkey who are a fraction of the cost of European or American doctors.

I agree 100%! Price is a huge factor and even people say save for 2 or 3 years and go to top notch doctor isn’t always justified! As OP mentioned there are a lot other family/personal responsibilities that come into the pic! Very few people would be willing to spend $ 20-30k USD or more for HT
I think for OP would an affordable surgeon do a good job and you would look better than how it looks now? My simple answer is most likely yes!
Your donor density seems great and your baldness isn’t extreme! With good and affordable surgeon you should have a good result!
I find it relatively lacking here is affordable surgeon recommendation!

  8. Well, I agree that this isn’t a public service that obligate the moderator to disclose his salary or financial gain!
However, I would like to make 2 points here:

1- For full transparency then financial disclosure should be made, amount of payments doesn’t have to be exactly accurate but members should get an idea, ie do clinic pay $100’s or $1000’s or more to be recommended here!

2- The recommendation list here isn’t at all INCLUSIVE, this need to be crystal clear!
ie there might be very well surgeons out there that isn’t recommended here just because they don’t pay their fees??!

Finally, I really appreciate anyone’s effort to share their honest and unbiased review/experience with HT as this can be the only true reference for potential patients!

Pimples are certainly expected at this point and typically not an issue.  Let them heal on their own.  Still..you may want to contact your surgeon for advice if you're still concerned.

Thank you. Yes it started to improve, I used some benzoyl peroxide shampoo and it been getting noticeably better!

  10. In regards to alcohol use, main concern is alcohol increase your risk of bleeding, mainly for chronic alcohol use. Excess alcohol use will increase bleeding from the incision site both at donor and recipient area! In general it takes 12-24 hour to clear your body from alcohol but again chronic use would still increase your risk even if you didn’t drink few days or weeks before the surgery!
Bottom line, avoid excess alcohol use in general, and don’t drink at all at least 2-3 days prior to surgery!

For smoking, it’s not as clear, I couldn’t find an actual study or literature for specific time line, but in general smoking would decrease your healing ability and lower immunity, therefore increase risk of infection!
Seems like a general consensus among HT is to avoid smoking for 1-2 weeks pre and post procedure!
It’s relevant to note that few studies being done to study the effect of smoking on hair loss!

    Dare I ask how HRN fares against HOI/Asli Tarcan/Cinik ? 😑

I think this is the actual problem! When you google those clinic it’s unlikely that this forum will pop up or at least referenced for legit reviews! I believe those clinics spend a lot of money in marketing that they have essentially fake reviews on every search engine! I even read that google somehow won’t post negative reviews for those clinics as they get flagged immediately!
I found this forum when I googled overharvesting after HT

I wish if this forum appear when you google one of those hair mills!

Also, do you have any additional photos showing scalp before surgery and a few more pictures showing the top of your scalp after surgery? I’m concerned because it looks like there is a gap of baldness between your hair transplant and your natural hair.  This could just be the picture so I don’t want to alarm you or anything.  But if you are losing additional natural hair behind the hair transplant, you will likely require some sequent procedures in order for it to stay looking natural.

Had there been a gradual fade of transplanted hair into your mid-scalp containing natural hair, even with additional natural hair loss, it wouldn’t require subsequent procedures to continue looking natural.

Now, i’m basing this on looking at a single picture and without knowing an additional details.  But I just wanted to make you aware of the possibility.

    Best wishes,

    Rahal Hair Transplant

Yes I noticed that too, there hasn’t been a gradual fade in the transplant! I’m expecting that I’ll need subsequent procedure but hopefully on the short term it won’t look too odd!
I have thinning in the mid scalp area and that’s why I am hopping to start using minoxidil and Finastride to help prevent that from worsening! Not sure what to expect in terms of result or what else to do in meantime!

Other pic below after the procedure, one with hair just couple of weeks prior to the procedure!

  13. Hello everyone,

    - how often I can start using minoxidil after transplant? Also, when can I get the first session of PRP, I read some instructions saying after a month, others mention you have to wait 6 month after transplant?

    - I am 10 days post transplant and I see bumps and pits in my recipient area, I know it’s too soon but is that normal? And how long usually last to get smooth scalp?

    thank you all in advance

  14. Hello everyone,

I am 6 days post transplant now, my head gets tender especially at donor area and during the night which makes it difficult to sleep. I take some Tylenol which helps a little bit but I was wondering if any thing else may help?
Also, my scalp seems so dry, I been using the clinic recommended shampoo and been washing once a day but my scalp seems getting dry with few dandruff appearing and the scabs don’t seem to fall yet! Any advice will be appreciated!

    thank you all
