Lol, what a strange clinic that you don't know how many grafts they are implanting

They were very unprofessional in most cases. Last PRP session that I did, I waited for almost 2hrs to be done. The laser gear was on my head for 40mins even if the actual run time is only 15mins. I didn’t remove it cos the nurse told me not to touch it.

In the other thread you said they confirmed 2550 grafts, did they then change and say something different ?

Yes. Since I was constantly being passed to the nurses/technicians of that medical center whenever I ask something, I never really got a concrete answer. Apparently, the 2500-2600 estimate was just from one of the technicians planted some of the grafts. 2 weeks ago when I went to do my last free PRP session, the same doctor who did the surgery was there and I was able to ask him directly about the number of grafts. It is also shown on my records on their clinic.

Looks more then 1500 grafts for sure. Imo the density should be okay if the grafts are harvested good.

@NARMAKThe density only looks low behind the hairline, but this is due to the fact that the hairs in that particular area are pointing towards the camera, and in the other angles, the hairs are pointing away fron the camera. I mean, it's not the best job. But it wil probably be sufficient.

Happy marriage. May it be the best day of your life.

Hi Doc. I'm not quite sure if they harvested it good but they were very intricate during the procedure so I hope they really did.
Based on your experience doc, can you tell if based on the grafts count, I can expect a good hair growth when it starts to grow? and also, my primary question in this thread is if I'm still in the right timeline and everything at the moment is still normal. Can you please confirm or have an input about it? Thank you doc.

It’s more than likely you will start to see growth from month 4, but it will be about 20% of the grafts (very approx), some people have faster growth in the initial stages but the final result for just about everyone is around 12 months.
Wasn’t it around 2550 grafts you had? I see 1500 being mentioned in this thread, but I’m sure it was higher amount?

I just confirmed 2weeks ago when I did my last PRP session that it was 1500 grafts only. And yes, I just wish I'm one of those who have hair growth faster than normal since my wedding is coming up in a few weeks.

it depend on what hold you want, and wheter you'll get wet. for normal one, brand like "toppik" is very widespread and should be available on many country online shopping sites.
if you want the waterproof one, you'll need to use hairspray or other products, melvin's youtube covers up, and he even got a test while swimming. the channel name is hair restoration network.

um... unfortunately, most people does get shock loss around 3 weeks to 2 month post op, and enter "ugly duckling" phase, where usually hair started sprouting and grow partially around 4th-6th month... those whose hair never fall out or grow around 3rd months are rare early grower...

I heard that brand toppik from a friend of mine. I'll just order it from amazon to cover up the empty spots.

I honestly think I'm still in ugly duckling phase and won't get past this until 3weeks from now. I just need to accept that even a decent hairline wont be visible during my wedding.

I personally do not think the 1500 grafts looks like it would have been a high enough density. However, could you please share some pictures of your hair before the transplant please  i still think the grafts weren't as densely packed as they could have been either and are further apart higher up on the hairline.

Are you taking any medication like Finasteride?

Personally i think at the 3 months mark, the transplant is slap bang in the so called Ugly Duckling phase.

This is how my hair looks pre op. It was dense enough on the first couple of weeks post op but it’s all gone now.

Still normal progress imo.. can you tell us the clinic?

Clinic name is Seven D Medical Center in Jumeirah, Dubai UAE.

it might be hard to accept, but in another 8 weeks, most probably you will only have 40% of the transplanted area grow, so maybe you can put make up in that area if the said area is red to cover it up, and you might need to shave it if the random hair sprouts looks bad, then grow it after the marriage.

hair transplant isn't an 'instant' fix, you need around a year for it to fully shows.

That's actually what I'm planning to do but I'm not familiar on these hair fiber brands. Can you recommend a good brand that I can use?

    1 hour ago, NARMAK said:

OP, can you please tell us how many grafts you had implanted and also is that before picture a picture of your hair situation as it is or was it taken shaved just before the procedure?

The density imo of the post-op picture looks very lacking and spread out. This wouldn't grow out to give you sufficient density imo.

Also, you should not have had this procedure done with your own wedding coming up 8 weeks post-op. If you were perhaps attending somebody elses wedding, that's okay and you can try use hair fibres etc. but you have taken a serious Russian Roulette approach to not only a hair transplant but then also getting married 8 weeks post op.

I would always advise any person getting married to allow 12+ months for their hair transplant to mature just in case they were a slow grower and whatnot. That way you can truly line up a perfect day. You can also train after around 3 weeks post-op normally to try get in a good shape for photos etc. and just really make it a memorable day hopefully for all the reasons it should be.

I hope you can do something but you have played with fire.

Graft planted was 1500. The first picture is taken 2 weeks post op and the other 2 pictures are taken yesterday and the day before which falls on 6 weeks post op. So basically, I'm on 15 weeks post op on my wedding day. I became very optimistic thinking that it will look decent after 3mos, but after looking on some people's experience, that's when I realized that it is a case to case basis and I might not end up exactly as the others do.  :'(

  8. Hi Guys. It's been almost 7 weeks since I did my Hair Transplant and based on most people's experiences I've seen on youtube and pictures uploaded in this forum, it's about time for my shedding to stop. On the last couple of days, I'm not seeing anymore hair fall or lost during shower and even when I wake up in the morning. The 2nd and 3rd picture is the current state of my recipient area which really bothers me. As you can see, some pores looks like it's closed and some do look like it's completely gone and the hole that the doctor made when he implanted the grafts also healed like it's just a scar now. I'm not sure if this is what it should look like on my current status but compare to my status on my 2nd week (1st picture), it looks really different. Can somebody verify to me that everything that is currently happening in my HT journey is normal? I'm really starting to lose hope specially because I will have my wedding in 8 weeks time. I'm not wisihing for a full grown hair but at least my hairline should updated when that time comes. :'(

  9. Hi Guys. It's my 20 days post-op today and I just had someone to look at my current hair progress. Upon seeing the current state, it seems like some bald spots show up after losing some of the grafts. I know that I'm already on the shedding phase and things aren't supposed to be taken seriously at this time but please here me out because based on what I'm seeing when I take pictures of my head, it looks like the bald spots doesn't have grafts or pores that will grow hair. Please check on the images on this post to see the comparison of my head couple of days post-op and the current situation.

The first 2 pictures are taken earlier and the rest are just today.

  10. Hi Guys. Today is my 16th day post-op and also my first day going back to work. I've been washing my hair since 11th day and I haven't seen a drastic loss of transplanted hair like I did today. As you can notice on the first picture(taken 4 days ago) and second picture(taken today), the lost of hair on some parts are very noticeable. What I realized is that, the fallen hair doesn't have the roots attached to it and it just looks like hair after you had your haircut. I can also see that there is something inside each inplanted graft even if the visible hair came off.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but the "shedding" part post-op will just be like this or the roots will come off as well?

Or just stay away from it since the gains don't seem to be worth the risk of being scammed. If you have money to burn then by all means go for it. I don't think it can hurt. After a transplant, how would anyone know if the hair growth was due to PRP or just regular growth? Seems like it would be impossible to decifer.

That's what I'm planning to do. Hopefully the 2 free sessions will stimulate hair growth on the transplanted area and also help on the thinning area.

PRP does work.  The issue however is the fact that not everyone knows how to do it correctly.  If you hear the word "sessions," run in the opposite direction.  By sessions I gather the provider(s) is doing a syringe size worth of PRP and does a few shots, (without using local).  Then he asks you to come back in a few weeks or months to do it again.  This does not work.

Think of the old west, every man for himself.  You would think an agency, for lack of a better description, like the ISHRS would prompt providers to share information as to what works and what doesn't.  Until this happens, it is truly a crap shoot to find clinics that actually know how to do this properly.  For now, the best way to confirm is to have the clinic show you photos of results.

For most clinics and medical facilities that provides PRP treatment here in Dubai, they require or suggest a minimum of 3 sessions to see visible results. I've been asking around about it before I did my HT and there's only 1 clinic who told me to go for HT before doing PRP cos most of my issues won't be solved by it. I would probably do the free PRP sessions with my HT package but see first if there's really something going on before engaging myself to another PRP treatment. Thank you 😊

Yeh the moment anybody mentions extra cost, run 🏃‍♀️ or extra “needed” sessions..

Oh btw, do you know when is the recommended time get back to my regular shampoo after the HT? As I've mentioned, I was using the Avalon Organics Biotin + B-complex before doing HT and the texture of this shampoo is almost the same as the J&Js baby shampoo.

Where would you be going to get the PRP done? Pretty much most places just use it as a “cash grab” and you won’t end up having any benefit from it whatsoever.
It’s very debatable in exactly what can be achieved having it done, early growth maybe.. but long term benefits? Your hair is still going to pretty much follow the usual timeline for overall growth (12 months)

As this whole experience is new to me, I was just thinking if I can help out on anything that my hair needs to stimulate growth. The HT itself costed me so much that I had to take out some of my savings. But it's a good thing that you guys are here to help people like me who's struggling to get tangible information from the clinic where I did my HT. My HT package comes with 2 free PRP sessions and 4 laser strengthening sessions and when I asked the technician when I can get the first PRP session, she said I can do it that day (10th day post-op). I didn't trust her verdict that's why I wanted to ask the community on this matter.

  15. Hi. I'm 12 days post-op FUE Hair transplant and I'm thinking to start PRP sessions to stimulate hair growth on the transplanted and thinning areas. Few questions comes in mind while I'm thinking about this and it's listed below.

    1. Can I start PRP session 14 days post operation?

    2. What is the minimum number of days/weeks before each PRP session?

    3. How many PRP sessions do I need to make sure its effectiveness?

Another side question regarding post-op FUE HT is this -- when can I start using a regular shampoo and not a baby shampoo after the transplant? I was using Avalon Organics Biotin + B-complex shampoo and conditioner before my HT and it's actually a really mild shampoo(almost the same as the baby shampoo), so I was thinking if I can replace the baby shampoo with this and probably help a little bit in stimulating hair growth.

Any answers or suggestions are welcome. Thank you guys

I don't really know for sure if Biotin and MSM tablets make much of a difference but everyone says to do it and i did it too. it can't hurt, so you might as well.

rub aloe vera gel on your scalp a few times a day for the next few months to help with redness

can't remember what was said about shampoo to be honest...maybe a couple of weeks before switching back?

microneedling (1 mm and once every 6 weeks) might help your crown but minoxidil and finasteride are the main things

Thank you for the answer. I can probably do with finasteride but minoxidil has more bad side effects to me than good ones. That's why I'm thinking of just taking the oral pills for it. I went ahead with the Biotin supplements and ordered a bottle that is good for at least 3mos. I hope it can help out on the growth.

Did you also try microneedling? I can see so many testimony that it really helped them grow hair on parts that they thought is dead already. If you've tried it, can you suggest a brand to use?

  17. Hi guys. It's my 12th day post-op today, 2 days after the first head wash and it seems like all the grafts are already in place. As I wonder in the internet, I've seen couple of ways to improve hair growth and make sure that the transplanted hair will grow healthy. I do hope you can help me answer these questions I have below to help me hair growth.
    1. Does taking Biotin food supplement helps in hair growth?

    2. As you can see, my crown is really not that healthy and I have to do something about it and doctor suggested a 2nd FUE HT for that area but I'm not really fond of it. My question is, is there any way I can promote hair growth in that specific area? Can Micro-needling help in that?

    3. Given that it's the 12th day post-op today, around what day can I expect the redness on the trasnplanted area to be gone?

    4. Can I go back to my old shampoo (Avalon Organics Biotin shampoo and conditioner) or do I still need to use baby shampoo at this stage?

I hope you guys have patience on answering my questions. I would really appreciate any help or suggestion on how to increase hair growth specially on my crown. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day ahead.

Im unfamiliar with the clinic, was it a tech based procedure or did the Dr do the incisions? Really they should have given a exact graft count.

The Dr did the incisions. They just rounded off the amount but one of the technicians who's separating my grafts when extracted said it's somewhere between 2580ish.

Yes I'm still doing the after care procedures, I'm just being carried away by the videos I'm seeing in youtube since some of them looks far from what I'm currently in. But thank you so much for responding. This is really reassuring 😊

You should speak with your doctor, he should inform you about this is normal. Actually you don't loose the actual hair papilla, just hair with some tissue.

    Total normal.

I'm trying but I can't get through him. It's only the technicians/nurses I'm able to reach that's why some of my concerns are really bothering me.

  20. 9 minutes ago, J.A.C said:

No they won’t, they are firmly anchored from day 3ish, after this point they would need to be surgically removed. A lost graft happens very early on, and is very noticeable as it will be accompanied by a stream/long trickle of blood and pain.

Oh that's very reassuring. So, safe to say that all these transplanted grafts are already in place, right?
