  1. Picture Update: 1 year and 7 months since transplant

i have mixed feelings about the results. The results look natural and better than before procedure. However, given the number of grafts and relative small are covered ( conservative hairline) i think i should have had more density. Will probably do a procedure for more density, but might wait a few years. Im currently 35, if my hair situation is stable i probably will have a transplant when im perhaps 37-38

You’ve obviously had a good result, in my opinion. After a bit of time a minor, and I say minor 2nd pass to achieve just a bit more density on the hair line would be what I would do. But, I think it looks good. As I’ve said before and I’ll say again, now you don’t have to watch your hair line disappear if you choose to proceed with a 2nd HT to get a little more density. Bottom line, I like it.

I’ll go even farther to say that, given the right surgeon and donor, you might be able to achieve a hairline that looks hmmm how do I say Hollywood/ a styled type of thickness everyday. I mean that in the sense that with another HT and the right product for styling like you see guys do (ease of use of course, such as a wax product) you could have damn near perfect living in heaven/hell (Gatsby slays it 😂😂) hair.

The saying you get what you pay for has never been more applicable than the hair transplant industry.  However, I’d wait and leave it be for a while, at least 18 months post op to see how things progress before making another appointment.

Thank you for your opinion! I will probably have another procedure, but will lilely wait at least until next year

It looks great from the front but what i want to ask is this, do you feel a difference in your hair, especially this area when you style it compared to berore your transplant? Does it feel thicker or easier to achieve the hairstyle that you want?

There is a difference in that area. Its still a little thin, so i usually apply a little toppik midscalp to achieve a fuller look

The hairline could be improved. The end-result makes it seem like you still have a receding hairline. (I am assuming here that your MPB is not that bad and you have enough donor for a NW1 result)

The misangled hair are obviously an error on the surgeon part. If there seriously are only a few of them, I say kill them off with electrolysis. Or you can get them extracted out and reimplanted elsewhere during your net procedure.

Not really concerned about the hairline design, dont really mind having a slightly receded hairline. But would like some more density though

I thought it looked good until I saw the misangled hairs and the photos in harsh lighting, which makes it obvious some grafts just didn’t grow. Who was your doctor?

It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t call it elite level. If it were me I’d get another one. Still an improvement.

Also, your hair looks coarse. I’d expect a thicker looking result.

Dr Saifi (poland) was the dr

It looks great besides the few grafts that have been implanted wrong but can't say that you've had a bad result. It is as realistic as it gets even if one side has slightly less density thats how the natural hairline usually is for most people. Not sure if you're on any medications but I'd definitely advise to do everything you can to maintain what you have.

Good to hear, thank you. Been on finasteride for 12 years actually, has probably significantly slowed down progression

  7. Hi, everyone.

I had my procedure done 22 february 2022, so it's been just over 12 months since my procedure. I had 2200 grafts implanted in temple areas and midscalp. Although there has been a big improvement overall, i'm not quite happy with the density achieved. I'm not sure if it's because of unrealistic expectations, or whether it's in fact because some issue with the procedure or growth. I would like to hear your opinion on my results. Before and after pictures are included below.

Also, a few hairs are pointed out at wrong angles, which i have to cut because they are impossible to style. Luckily there is not too many of those..

How's donor looking? Are you planning on adding more density in the future? I think the recent pics look really good compared to before

Thanks, good to hear! There are some areas in the temple region that lack some density, but hairs seem to still be sprouting so things may still improve. Gonna wait til 12 months and see how it looks and evaluate.

Can add some pictures of donor area on next pic update :)

@im_not_a_robot I wanted to do surgery with Dr Saifi, but now I am afraid that I will not have enough density. I have bald spots to cover on my hairline, and he estimated 2200 grafts for this

Seeing the picture you posted in a thread i have to admit 2200 seems a bit conservative, and you might not achieve the density you want. But you should consider your options well. I would rather take a conservative doctor than a hair mill clinic in turkey. Consult with some more doctors and see what they say

My experience, recently posted in my thread, is that just 2.5mg taken for a year now has had a dramatic effect on not only regrowing hair but actually stabilising my hair loss. I do not take finasteride so I can be sure it's the result of oral minoxidil. I can only speak for the current results of course - it has currently stopped my hair loss and also added a lot to the mid scalp and strengthened my crown back to where it was before. I have had zero side effects and it has had no effect on my blood pressure at all which I checked (as it's a low dose for hair loss). I feel very lucky to have been recommended it by my doctor and to be such a great responder to it, being the only medication I take for hair loss. Sharing in case it helps someone else!

PS - forgot to mention I'm a total non-responder to topical minoxidil!

Hi, just curious as to how long it took befored you noticed oral minoxidil had an effect?

What do the new hairs that recently grew in the hairline look like? Are they thin, fine and colorless that are only evident because you can feel them or are they visible to the eye? Or are they thick, dark and mature looking (other than the fact that they are short and not growing)?

at the end of the day, I do think that waiting is the only thing you can really do at this point. At 7 1/2 months, New hairs could still be popping out and growing. So give it the necessary time and reevaluate it between 12 and 18 months.

    Best wishes,

    Rahal Hair Transplant

I would say the hairs that are not growing are thick and feels coarse. They are very short, but they are visible to the eye.

thanks, will do! Crossing my fingers they start growing eventually 🙂

    @im_not_a_robot,

Quick question, are you using  Topical minoxidil at all? The reason why I ask is, if you are, it’s possible that the newly sprouted hairs are related to an actual use not actually transplanted hairs that are throwing.  On the other hand, if it is transplant hair that’s not growing, I do agree that’s a little strange. However, it does take up to 12 to 18 months for a hair transplant to fully grow in and mature. I suggest giving it time to see what happens. If your situation does not change and the transplanted hair does not grow, I recommend contacting your surgeon to garner their input.

    Best wishes,

    Rahal Hair Transplant

Thank you for the response. Have been using topical minoxidil for years, so unlikely to be related. Also, these hairs are mostly along the hairline, where there have not been hairs for 10 + years.

guess i’ll just have to wait and see
