Thank you for all the quick replies.

I don't think topical breezula is available yet, well according to a quick Google.

Well I've made it to 40 and my second HT without taking oral finasteride so I can't see myself starting but appreciate it is the best option.

What are the percentages of sexual sides with topical finasteride? I was looking at topical minoxidl (5%) and finasteride (0.1%) combined but not much info on the side effects

    Cheers

Topical Finasteride is working well for many patients. Whether its efficacy is the same, or lesser than oral Finasteride is not known

This is just an assumption that side effects are lesser or non-existent but the lack of studies about its possible side effects no clinics or Doc can guarantee 100% successful outcomes.

There are some Challenges with gel:

This is not FDA-approved as per my limited knowledge.
    Not available everywhere.
It is difficult to use as its topical application  ( My personal experience).

It may cause Itching on your scalp.

Topical minoxidil won't stop the ongoing progression and efficacy is less than oral or topical finasteride.

I am on Oral finasteride 1mg from last 2.5 years and it worked well for me post my HT

  2. Finasteride is a medication that helps prevent ongoing hair loss in male pattern baldness. For individuals who undergo hair transplant surgery and continue to lose hair, they should consider Finasteride as a medication to stabilise their rate of hair loss. This will also help preserve a hair transplant result for longer.

I have begun finasteride solely after my medical procedure and after 2.5 years I firmly accept that my ongoing progression has been stabilized at this point.

  3. Hello, you should simply keep your hair long to conceal the front-facing receded hairline, and furthermore also to prevent ongoing progression you should begin a DHT blocker (Which should be prescribed by your dermatologist). I will in any case recommend you to hold your plan for a couple of more years and afterward plan your HT. Your donor is amazing at this age and I am certain it will be accessible for producing great outcomes.

    5 Month Update:

Hello HRN friends! Steady progress into month 5. Although the right side is still stronger, I’ve been noticing the left side of the hairline and left temple point thicken up nicely over the past 30 days. What I’ve notice more than anything this month is the multi-hair grafts starting to sprout! Out of the 2752 grafts extracted, a whopping 1200 of them were 3 and 4 hair grafts for me. Past the first 3 rows and all the way back, I’m now seeing a ton of double hairs that were NOT there last month. I’m anticipating that the 3rd and 4th hairs with those larger grafts will be coming in over the next several months as well.

One golden nugget for anyone who has not had a hair transplant, is to remember that the growth phase of each hair follicle in a multi-hair graft has its own unique growth schedule. Trust me when I say that you’ll see the hair pop out and grow and your mind will play a trick and tell you that is all that graft has to offer, then a few months later you’ll see more hairs popping out of that same graft.😁 This is the exact reason why you can’t judge the quality of your hair transplant until after 10 to 12 months. With some of the 3 and 4 hair grafts, I may not see that last hair in the graft germinate until month 8 or 9 potentially. Not to mention the caliber thickness of the hair maturing up until month 12 and beyond.

Between the added hairs and grafts this month, more maturity with earlier growth, and having wavy hair as it grows out, I’ve been very pleased with how its provided good overall coverage and illusional density in the frontal portion, and how natural it looks blending into my native hairs as well.

    Thanks guys,

    ~Maz
