Hey! appreciate the response. I think Guerero harvested mine and Cortez planted as well. I just passed 4 months and my hairline is starting to look good, it is filling in quite nicely. I just passed 4 months yesterday and will most likely give an update at the 5 month mark. Thanks for the reassurance and I'll keep you posted. The hairs are very thin after surgery so hoping this is just transient, as pre op the donor was quite full. I also will say I had a moderate case of folliculitus from month 2 to 3 in the donor area, so its been through some trauma with the surgery and infection. Happy growing

So you can find the pre-op, post-op pics above. the attached photos were taken with camera flipped so what you see in the pic as left, is really the right side. Next saturday will be 3 months - I shaved my head down which was a mistake haha. So the biggest thing is the right side of my donor zone is really thin (they took more grafts in this area), just like almost bald which makes me think its shock loss since my donor area pre-op was pretty thick. Also, the left side of my head, is really thin (by my left ear) where they didn't even take any grafts (reference my one day post-op pic) - which would lead me to believe shock loss. I also included a picture in harsher lighting of the right side which really shows the thinness. I got ~2300 grafts. Any thoughts on shock loss vs overharvest would be great. I understand I'll probably just need to give it more time and allow it to grow out but, please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Hey Man im on my 4.5 month post-Op HMR. we have the same problem! my right side was harvested more than the left. was it Dr Cortez who harvested or Dr. Guerero? the young doctor is Dr Guerero. he harvested mine. Dr Cortez planted. my hair line now is full at 4.5. i would say very happy with the density. also my donor looked like yours up to 3.5 months. now you cant even tell. hang in there it will cover up soon. you look like you have thin hair. yours probably 5-6 months donor area will be hidden.

You want to “add one inch”? Do you mean lower your hairline by one inch?

yes sir sorry, lower it by 3/4 inch side to side i guess or 1 inch? how many grafts that you think and with my existing FUT scar i just found out that i most likely wont be able to cut it like it is in the pictures. how about micro pigmentation on the FUT scar so when i cut it short it wont be too obvious? has anywone has that done? thanks

Your trasnplant journey has been good. Your hailine seems natural and your strip scar is barely visible and thats understandable as the last one was done by Dr Rahal. Now if you want to hairline using FUE it should be fine. A good FUE is even lesser visible that a FUT scar unless overharvested. I would limit the extaction to 2000- 2500 Grafts  so to make sure that the donor area doesnt look depleted even when you cut it small. Other thatn that with a good doctor you should be fine. Also be conservative with hairline. Not sure if in future you would need graft for crown work.

Thanks Texan35, thats what they recommended to me 2000-2500 grafts only and save like 800 grafts for later from remaining donor for crown when i get older. im 48 now. good to know i can still do short hair a bit like now after FUE. thanks again!

    Hey everyone,

I'm new to all this and had a quick question.  We're thinking of heading to see Dr. Cortez in Tijuana because of the great reviews we have read so far.  Our concern is about the reputation of Tijuana for a high crime area.  I realize that the clinics are on the main strip and pretty close to the border.  Did anyone have any problems with crime or feel unsafe when visiting the clinic and staying in the nearby area?  Thanks! Joe

no its safe. theres a parking lot next to it woth attendant. i went there for consultation. going back the border line was 45 mins traffic that was it. going there was easy peasy. just use waze to get there. I dont speak spanish and ive been to tijuana maybe 5-6 times over the years   for tourism during the day. ive crossed by foot and also by bus all safe. just stick to the tourist area zona rio zona centro lots of Americans there and California license plates. make aure you get Mexican insurance which is $30 a day i believe. just research  online for the insurance company.

Putting such high density is risky in a single procedure due to all the grafts competing for blood supply. Hopefully you’ll be fine, but it’s entirely possible you could end up with the same amount growing as if you’d done half the amount. Hopefully I’m wrong. I’d put a guess in that it’s Rahal?

Has Rahal have any bad results recently? I had FUT with him 2010. My results is undetectable hairline. I was gonna pick him but too expensive for me. I opted for Dr Cortez Tijuana for more hairline

  7. thanks Doctor Rahal! my second FUT transplant was with you 12 years ago! you did awesome job on my hairline! I wish I can go to Canada again. but i can afford FUE with you unfortunately. I need 1 more inch hairline. I remembered you said i have plenty left donor just wait 10 more years and see how much hair will remain. Ive been on finastiride since. I remember the nice house we stayed close to your clinic. my fellow parients cooked there and had our own reclining chairs. great experience. I also got to see the Ottawa capitol before we left. thanks Doctor!

  8. Hello guys, I'll have a HT done in 2.5 weeks. doctor says no vitamins or blood thinners. a week before surgery. I was wondering if THC edibles are also bad for pre surgery. Does anyone know if THC edibles have an effect? Ive been on THC and CBD for months now. helps me relax. I didnt ask the Doctor wanna ask you guys maybe you know. and another question. should i stop Finasteride too a week before Surgery? thanks for the help
