Wow 😯 This has really come along since I last commented! Very nice indeed, and yes I have noticed the more “unruly” hairs will take longer than the usual 12 months to settle down 👍🏽
thank you sir! that is great to hear you have seen that. My hair is definitely unruly so I imagine it will take a bit longer >.<

Just posting an update as it has officially been 1 year. Very happy with the results! I found an old photo before I even started taking medication and the comparison is ridiculous. So happy that I took action. And to think If I didn't I would pretty much be completely bald by now... absolutely insane.
I am also thinking of getting a 2nd procedure maybe next year to touch up certain spots, but really overall insanely happy. I feel like i have a lot of flexibility in my scalp still left too which is nice.
Also I will say I think even though it's been a year I don't think it's 100% done yet. The hairs are still pretty kinky and so I think this may take another 3 - 6 months to normalize based on how it's been the last 6 months.

hey man thanks for keeping us all up to date. I checked in here because i remember we both had our Wesley appt around the same time last year. Glad to hear you got a 2nd procedure as it sounded like you weren't too happy with the first one.
I need to post pics as my 1 year just hit today. I would say i am very happy with the overall result. I definitely look like a new person and have so many more styling options. However I can clearly see where some areas are less dense than others and already know I will be going back for a 2nd procedure to really boost the look. Probably next year though.
Anyway keep us posted on this 2nd procedure - I hope it gives you that density you are looking for. By the way did you have to pay for this 2nd procedure or was some / all of it waived since you had that scar issue?

Hopefully... I'm not made out of donor grafts either though lol, that's a truly finite resource... And I can't do another FUT because this strip was already too wide to heal normally... And I'll be destroyed if shaving my head is a requirement to fix things...
To the second question, I hadn't talked with him in months, figuring any response was likely to be "you need to wait for 12 months and things will be great" (or that sort of sentiment, which does often hold true), but when I realized yesterday there was virtually no change from months 6 to 7 that I could see, I did email the office.
any follow ups? curious how the Dr. handled your email

That's a fantastic result and you are only half way home. Your pre op pics remind me of my hair when I was 26. I look forward to following your journey and thanks for sharing!

Is it normal for the hairline to retain redness months following the surgery?

Do you also have monthly pics of the scar ? Would like to see how it's healing
good point i do have a few pics ill try to get more recent ones and post. last time i saw it looks like it was healing good. Only thing is i have a sort of scab thing on it that I keep picking at and it doesnt ever heal, so thats annoying. im trying to not pick at it

6 months update. starting to thicken up a little more although the hairs are still very kinky and wiry. The density is solid but to be honest i am really hoping it thickens up more because its still very see through when exposed under light.
Also one complaint - I don't think it is very visible in these pictures, but there is 1 graft right behind my hairline that looks quite pluggy - I think the Dr mistakenly put in too many hairs in one slot. Looks like theres like 5 or 6 hairs coming out of 1 hole. I will try to get a picture of this up close if possible later.
Otherwise im quite pleased so far. Hoping it really thickens up in the next 6 months

Looking excellent for 5 months 🙌🏼
thanks man! do you reckon its normal for the hairs to still be super kinky and wiry at this stage?

thats very good for a 5 month man. cant wait to see the final result! please keep us posted.
thanks man! will do

5 months result - definitely noticed a solid improvement from 4 to 5 months. Maybe more so in that the hairs started to get thicker from end to end not just at the shaft, which allows me to comb my hair down and it doesnt look too bad. Right now i am between 5 and 6 months, and its lookin solid, but my only complaint is the new hairs are still very kinky and wispy. I am guessing this is normal at this stage though? I still have a lot of hairs that look very thin at the hairline, so I am hoping that gives the opportunity for much more thickening, as my hairline is still quite see through especially in the light.
Your comments are welcome!! thanks

yes let me post my 4 and 5 months here. im coming up on 6 so will do that when that comes

hey man big congrats you're looking way better especially with the lost weight. its amazing how much that can change one's look, especially with new hair! im workin on the same thing, currently 6 months into my HT and on a regular workout routine. keep it up!
-
literally a killer result man. you look like you grew in your new hair super fast TBH. I am almost 6 months on mine and it doesnt quite look like yours at 6 months. Mine is still kinky and wispy as well. if you remember, at what point did your hair lose its kinkiness and wispiness and turn into normal texture like the surrounding hair? Big big congrats though man i hope i turn out like this.
