Also another thing I wanted to add was that I looked back at your pre op and post op and saw that you went for 40cm^2 with a ton of multi hairs so you definitely shouldn’t have high hopes of seeing a lot early on. So you would have more density than what you’re currently seeing.
just expect to see it all grow out slow and later since the hairs grow in different stages making it look completely full, some patchy, or a bit in between.
Yeah, I was thinking that the multiple grafts will start to kick in.
Also, I think the redness is just the lighting to be honest. Doesn’t seem too red to me.

Wow this is definitely a big improvement from month 5 in my opinion. I can’t tell if you have a some redness or if it’s lighting or a combination of both?
i think maybe by the end of summer you’ll have less redness from the sun and from the operation (if it still exists not sure)
but overall I think it’s coming along nicely. Previously I would’ve said your hair type isn’t going to have much density but it looks like I might be wrong. The fullness is definitely starting to piece together.
it may not look like it’s blending together but I think it’s shaping up nicely. You’re definitely on the slower side of growth so I would be excited for what the future holds.
would you mind posting some photos without any styling like your hair combed forward?

6 months
I’ve seen some improvements over the past month. Definitely the best month of growth so far. Hair is getting thicker and weak areas starting to fill in.Happy with the progress up to now, hoping that the growth continues over the next few months. Photos taken in slightly harsher light than last time with no product in my hair.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.- 1

I think youre exactly where 5 months should be at. Your hair contrast doesnt help in terms of density. But you seem to be on the slower side of growth. I understand its difficult to compare yourself to others but you have to remember its not what is intended and I am glad you were able to update us.
I think you might have had some shockloss around your native hairs when looking at your photos so it might have caused some thinner areas to be more exaggerated. Dont fret once you hit later months you should begin to see more development.
How is your donor looking and feeling so far?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Donor looks fine, I am able to get a fade to grade 1 without seeing any signs of a transplant.
Hope yours goes well, I’ll be following.

Okay cool bro. Good luck
Did Bekir told you to perform scalp massages after day 10 ?
Sorry, meant to say ‘I don’t want to start another tablet that I won’t be able to stop’.
I didn’t meet Bekir, and no one mentioned about scalp massages to me.

Thanks for your comments.
Ozgur said that I would have to stay on finasteride, which I have no problem doing as I haven’t had any side effects. I agree which what you are saying about the back of my head, although it has been like that for many years. He also said I had a good donor and enough beard donor if needed for future procedures. At the moment I’m not bothered about the crown as topic covers it very easily so will continue with this for the foreseeable future.
I have thought about oral minoxidil, but at the moment don’t want to start taking another tablet that I won’t be able to start, may take it in the future if needed.

5 months.
Decided to wait until the 5 month mark to update again.
The first 2 pictures are from 3 months, the other three are from 5 months (21 weeks)
Overall I know there has been an improvement from where I was, but there is a lot of thin areas still. I know it’s only 5 months and I shouldn’t compare to other peoples progress, but being on this site makes it hard not to.
Really hoping things continue to thicken over the next few months and the thin areas catch up.
Maybe I’m being a bit unrealistic for what 5 months should look like and I’m a bit blinded to progress as I’m studying it so closely every day. Anyway, I’d really value anyones input on how things are looking.
Thanks

I'm wanting to switch over to oral minoxidil as the foam has caused scalp irritation since my hair transplant. Where to people source it from when living in the UK?
I've contacted Dr Farjo who has said he would supply after a consultation, but wanted to know if there were any other places that might be cheaper. I've also emailed Dr Mwamba but haven't a response yet.
Cheers.

1 month update
First month has flown by. Overall pleased with how things are going. Shedding started about a week ago and losing more and more hairs each day.
I had a very stubborn scab that left a deep ‘scar’ on my scalp when I removed it. The area around it doesn’t seem to have much hair around it, I’m guessing that the hair just came off with the scab? I’ve pointed out the area on one of my pictures.
I’m pleased with how my donor is looking after 6000 grafts total being taken from it (2000 from first procedure). Going to cut the back and sides at some point this week.
Meds update: I’ve been taking MSM, vitamin D and collagen for the past month and recentlyre-started minoxodil foam twice daily.
Heading to the dreaded ugly duckling phase, hopefully have some growth by the summer months.
Any thoughts on how things are looking would be much appreciated. I’ll provide a further update in another month.

I have not posted in a while. I previously posted after having my first HT at another clinic in Oct last year. It was not great overall, but recently returned from HLC Ankara where I had my second HT. I had a lot more grafts than expected and really hoping it ends in a significant improvement this time round. My procedure was performed on the 14th and 15th of Feb, so now on day 10.

Hi guys! I've been lurking here for a few months, but didn't really bother to sign up until after the surgery, since I didn't know what to write about.
Well, now I've undergone the procedure, so at least here's my story. Short background:
1. I started to get bald at around 19 years old, but didn't really care about it until 24 yo or so (I'm 26 now), when I've got almost completely bald (see my before photos for reference).
2. I've been using topical minoxidil for about 2 years (which surprisingly helped quite a lot, balding almost stopped, as I can judge by my old photos). I started to use fin pills around a month ago without noticeable side effects, so I guess I'll continute it for as long as I find it meaningful. I've also got Xpecia vitamins from HLC, just started taking them as well.
3. My father was balding a lot at an early age as well, so I guess that's where it all comes from. The surgery was conducted by dr. Elif (extractions) and dr. Bekir (implantations), as well as 3 or 4 nurses. They all were very professional, helpful and nice to talk to. Overall I felt that HLC takes their cases fairly smoothly, guys definitely mastered the whole process after thousands of procedures. I have nothing more to say though, I will judge their work by the result.
That being said, I don't have any huge expectations for several reasons: my head is pretty big, so area to cover is higher than for the most people. Apart from that, I started to deal with the problem way too late, so it's only natural that results won't be perfect.
But I also should say that I expect considerable improvement from such a highly regarded clinic and fairly high amount of grafts taken. I mean, if situation won't really change much, I will be dissapointed.Oh, by the way, they said I have around 8000-8500 grafts available in my donor area. So if result will be satisfactory, I will most likely come for the second procedure.
Okay, now I think I've told everything important. I will try to update photos every month. I will also be extremely thankful for any opinions regarding post op photos, since I can't judge them by myself due to lack of experience.
Looks similar to mine, will be following! Looks clean and tidy to me, but I’m sure there are people with much more experience who can comment further.

Hairlossman,
As already indicated, 12 days is far too early to judge anything other than how the surgery is healing. Don’t worry about whether or not some seem to be growing or not. The follicles are healthy and living underneath the surface of scalp. Your will experience hair shedding of the transplanted hair between 4 to 6 weeks and within 3 to 5 months you’ll start to experience new growth. It will take 12to 18 months to fully mature.
best wishes,
Rahal Hair Transplant
Thanks for your response! All seems to be healing well so far.

12 days post-op the grafts wont be growing, those are dead bulbs, the grafts will grow around 3 months.
Ahh okay, thanks for that!

Sorry if this has been a duplicate post, I'm pretty new to posting and might have posted this in the wrong place originally.
I'm now 12 days post FUE (which I have began documenting in a different topic). In my mid scalp, a lot of the grafts don't seem to be growing and are just tiny dark stubs. Where as In the hairline the majority of the grafts have continued to grow. Is this normal or does it mean that these grafts aren't going to grow?
My other thought is that the hair might have come off when the scabs were removed, is this possible? Or is it all too early to tell and just going to have to wait it out?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Just a quick question regarding the following attached picture. I’ve removed 99% of the scabs (day 12), there’s a large patch in the centre of the recipient area where the grafts don’t seem to have grown and are just small black dots (I have put a blue square around for an example). Is this normal? Or should the hairs of grown, meaning that those grafts haven’t taken/may not grow? The majority of the grafts towards the front seem to have continued to grow.
Ill update with more pictures of how everything is looking in the next few days.
Thanks in advance!

Surprised they did it in 2 days, normally HLC use 3 days for OP that size. I wonder if they are trying to squeeze more people in now?
From my experience and what I have seen recently, roughly 4000 graft procedures are completed in 2 full days.

Looks like some great early growth so far! Look forward to further updates

Manual extraction, doctor does the whole procedure. I don’t think it’s very expensive when comparing with others. But everyone has their perception
