    why would he take fin?

I doubt he will ever need it.

Thank u for the reply sir...I am also in a. Dialomma to start it or not but I am losing my hair since 9months an it is still progressing..I can notice some gaps in the hair too..though I accept the fact that I am in a chronic stress full event beacuse of my pg prepartion for NEET exam 2021 here in India..may be that's the reason for the trigger ..but the only stress I am facing now is about my hairfall and I am so much disturbed that I lost my track over preparation too..I am bothered till how long it proceeds and at what age I become bald..I am searching for a positive motivation about it...and I am very glad if you could help and give me any suggestion...thank u sirr...

I would talk to a doctor about dosage and if it’s even worth taking. I think your hair looks great and your barely just starting to “feather” out. I’ll echo the others here, but do not take minoxidil. Do finasteride .5mg everyday to see how your body reacts to it. The first week you will feel off, cloudy and drained (at least for me). Others have had ball ache for a week, and some, nothing at all. Do not give it up and stick through the first 7-10 days.

I actually stairstepped it slowly to ensure I had no bad side effects. This is a very cautious approach but the efficacy of .25 mg and .5mg is close to 1mg standard dose per research, so you won’t miss out by starting slow:

    .25mg everyday - 1 month

    .5mg everyday - 1 month

    1mg - M/W/F/SUN

You should be taking 1mg everyday though per research and doctors recommendation. However, I still stagger mine and the meds last much longer.

You can get prescriptions online through blink, keeps, and other websites for cheap. Blink and keeps are pricey and not worth it IMO. Find a doctor who can prescribe it or a reputable website that won’t overcharge you.

Good luck and don’t fret. You are in much better shape than most of us as you still have your natural hair.

Thanku for ur help sir...and I will be glad to share the results after the usage of fenasteride for 3 mnths atleast...I am hoping for the best and want to be positive whatever the thing it happens

Good advice. Rogaine is for people who have noticeable loss and want to regain some ground. However, new studies and anecdotal evidence is showing that oral minoxidil may be more effective than finasteride... People are growing more hair than oral Fin, and Australia is running with it.

Sir may I know how much dosage of oral minoxidil is used for hair loss..And are there any serious side effects due to the medication...

No, minoxidil doesn't address DHT. It thickens hairs and extends their growth cycles until the DHT completely renders the hair follicles unable to produce visible hair. Just taking minoxidil alone is not a long term solution. You want to combine it with finasteride, or at least just take finasteride.

And oral minoxidil will work better than the topical minoxidil for more guys, and possibly better, because its processed in the liver instead of up at the scalp where not everyone is able to process it as efficiently.

I take the oral minoxidil because the topical irritates my scalp conditions, and I've also been on finasteride for about 15 yrs.

Thank u sir...want to know about ur results for oral minoxidil it will be most helpful for Mee..thankuu

That's called a maturing hairline. No need whatsoever to jump on a medication like Finasteride for the remainder of your life.... (yet)

Yes sir I am waiting since 10 months onwards still I can't understand it's maturing or receeding..so I am dialomma to start with medication or not

The first thing that came to mind was to commence finasteride. You have so much hair and a great hairline! You want to preserve it. All the best.

Yes sir I want to save my hairline I am noticing some gaps too...making my scalp visible...so I started my finasteride and hoping some good progress happens ..thank uu sirr

If you want to maximize your results and have the discipline to apply the minoxidil in the morning and evening, or even once a day, go ahead and start the minoxidil.

They work best together. Finasteride helps protect the hair from DHT and minoxidil thickens the hairs and extends their growth cycles so you have more hairs growing at the same time, giving you the fullest look.

Some guys have an initial shed on finasteride too. You still have alot of hair, and not everyone sheds when starting finasteride and minoxidil. And you have so much hair, even if you have some shedding it's not going to be the big deal it is for guys who waited too long, after they've already lost alot of hair.

If you want to be extra careful get some Toppik hair fibers, for any thin areas sprinkle some on, and comb it through, then style as usual. A number of us on this forum have used it to help delay getting hair transplants for years because it works so well.

Am I missing something? Why are people advising this guy to take fin? A front angle with the brow up might say otherwise but this is not a receding hairline based on these pictures. His velus hairs along the hairline just look like a standard transition to a mature hairline.

Finasteride is probably fine but seriously dude, DO NOT start minoxidil. Save it for when you actually need it if you notice significant thinning and need to get back some ground. All you need to do now (if you're receding at all) is maintain. Minoxidil will trigger large sheds as it syncs the hair cycles of your follicles, and you might get your hair hooked on a topical you never even needed.

Thanks dude...I am afraid of this thing about minoxidil..so I didn't started it yet..I just started my finasteride just 4 days back and waiting to see what happens further

Man I wish I had your hair. You have tons of it! And a nice hairline as well. Take the fin and start with .5mg a day to see how your body reacts to it. Then up the dosage after a couple of months to ensure you have no side effects.

I am very much thankful for your reply dude...should I use minoxidil or just avoid it??
