The problem is that a lot of people find this forum after they have gone ahead with the procedure (often doing little to no research).
The timing is key. For example, you have found this forum before going ahead with the procedure which will put you in a better position to get a good result.
this,
glad i did the research before surgery

@Zodiac thank you for sharing pics. What guard is that? I have a feeling if u go up a guard or two it will camouflage things well
yea, Fade 2-3 should be sufficient.
Still in the ugly duckling phase (month 2), so just playing the waiting game
-
Fade 0 no attachment

Keep in mind I intentionally used the shortest cut just to see how the donor looks like using direct light to see the scars. It looks fine for everyday purposes. I’ll post progress soon
-
Going forward I'll use a different fade and keep these hairs a little longer. I see scabs and healing marks but that will go away in time

yea i get that, its all about masking it with a longer haircut
-
so i had a very short haircut and can see gaps in the donor area, should i post pics? I am assuming this is a temporary thing and will look better over time as the donor fully heals? What are the healing stages of the donor?

i'll post after pics as time goes on: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/59458-march-15-2021-fue-with-dr-nadimi/?tab=comments#comment-580466

One month update:
I was initially and still am impressed by the lack of recipient redness. My shed was gradual but between 2-4 weeks most of my new grafts shed their hairs, and I think I had some shock loss of some weaker hairs in recipient as expected. Donor continues to be entirely unnoticeable.
Started minoxidil, occasionally nizoral around 2 week mark. Had tons of dandruff at about 10-14 days but gradually cleared up and very minimal now at a month. Hardest part is waiting as I look somewhat worse than before transplant, but this is all as expected. Excited for months 3-6 when growth will hopefully start to be noticeable. Won’t be adding photos of donor except at maybe a year since it hasn’t changed and isn’t noticeable.
shedding is to be expected. trust the process. Month 3 is when you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel

Last I was told, 6 month waitlist but do get on the standby list as well

looking good! Let's see the shedding phase

The donor feels normal with no pain or irritation to report. I would say a strength of Dr. Nadimi's technique would be donor management, and probably similarly to Dr. Konior. When I look at other HT cases from other doctors, day 1 and 2 the donor looks so different compared to mine. I dont know the exact punch size used but it appears the punch size used in extraction were very small compared to the other HT cases that look so bloodied. The smaller the punch size appears to be better and faster recovery

HT is a process, and your are in the worst stage. Do not do any experiments with laser etc., just trust the process. Look at my thread: At month 3.5 I looked much, much worse than before. Almost everyone does.
yes. 100%

To be honest I am not at all familiar with the International Doctors as I was focused on the US but certainly those few names you mentioned come up often in these forums and should be looked at seriously as top choices for patients outside the US.
I have now had three procedures (one failed and two with Konior that were magical) and feel I can offer real experience and lessons learned as a karma payback for all that I gained from this forum.
I firmly believe that if at ALL financially possible only go to the top clinic in your geography. Excluding Turkey and other low cost countries, the difference in cost between an average clinic and a world class one in the US for example is only a few thousand dollars. That might sound like a lot but it is nothing compared to the life long consequences from getting a bad result.
In the US I believe Dr. Konior is the only choice, he is a true master of cosmetic hair restoration surgery. The analogy I would use is seeing the Sistine Chapel and his David sculpture and then looking for another artist instead of choosing Michelangelo to save some money. These forums are full of amazing patient results like Matt1938 illustrating Dr Konior’s work.
I understand that the premier clinics have long waits but the huge benefit of this forum is helping guys find the few doctors who can REALLY give you back your hair. My advice is only go to an elite surgeon and there are simply not many who truly are in the entire world.
No offense but how the heck could someone be from Chicago and NOT go to Dr. Konior?
Konior and Nadimi, they have the same resources and technicians. Some who have 20 years of experience working in HT
