Ok totally understandable, something like Jason Alexander? He looks slightly balding, but not bad.

I was thinking something more like this:

    Phil-Ring-Does-Hair-Dos-For-Bald-Men-Sha

This is a example of someone who did get a hair piece on the right (left picture is his before picture). I would like to get a "thinning" piece that would somewhat resemble the look of the picture on the left and would provide an illusion of someone slowly losing hair.

I know it's an odd request, but I've been able to disguise wearing a piece this long... I don't want people realizing that I was always wearing one. Going from full head of hair on top to bald and no hair on top would be odd and a conversation I don't want to deal with. I am okay with with wearing for another year or so to show a better and more natural transition of thinning/balding.

As always, I am thankful for all your responses and suggestions.

There are some partial pieces, have you considered getting a hair transplant?

Hey there, I actually got a transplant about 13 years ago. It didn't turn out too well and I still have the scar. I can get the scar fixed through SMP if I decide to go that route, but transplants are just too expensive and simply put, I regret doing it. All the transplanted hair is no longer there for me.

As for the partial pieces, I don't want to look drastically different than how I look now (a receding hairline all of a sudden), but I just want to display that my hair is thinning out more and more.

  3. Hey everyone. I'm in my 30s, been wearing for almost 10 years now.

I have gotten to the point in my life where I am no longer comfortable wearing the piece. The cost, maintenance, and also people finding out that I'm wearing is mentally exhausting at this point. Each new unit is costing me around $600 with maintenance and I have considered taking the plunge to shave it all off and eventually go with SMP (scalp micro pigmentation).

Basically, I am looking for a method to "transition" from having a decent amount of hair to no hair. I don't want to just shave it all off and make it obvious that I never had hair to begin with. What I'd like to do is wear a piece that is showing my hair thinning and slowly going bald (I am ok wearing for another year if I have to). Is there a hair piece that does this and what would be the best method from your guys' experience?

All opinions are welcome. I appreciate everyone's feedback, we're all in this together.
