Some of you have mentioned having my scalp checked out or tested.  In what way?  Who could do that for me, and what would they be looking for?   

I suppose I would ask why the transplanted hairs didn't hold up well over time and if that is typical. Perhaps an explanation from the Doctor and not the representative. After all you were a patient and spent thousands, they should give you the courtesy of an explanation. 

Based on their response you could slip in whether they recommend a scalp biopsy. 

After viewing the pre-op photos and comparing them to the other photos it's evident the transplanted hairs did not hold up well. Based on the 2010 photos it's hard to tell how successful the initial transplant really was. What appears to have happened, as others have pointed out is more native hair loss and significant thinning of transplanted hair. I'm not sure if this comes down to the doctor or intrinsic factors but would definitely have the scalp looked at prior to a second HT. 

Did the clinic have anything to say when you sent over your photos for review? I would love to hear their explanation. 

Hi @BJ47 , welcome to the forum. With your first transplant, how many grafts did you have and where were they placed?

Are you currently on finasteride to prevent further loss? 

The reason I ask is because if you had a previous transplant in the frontal area that is concerning. A prior transplant even 10 years ago should hold up, but without understanding your specific situation I can only assume. 

2500-3000 grafts will add a noticeable impact to the frontal 1/3rd of your head and 500 into the crown would at least allow Toppik to grab on, but you will probably want more down the road. We all want more. 1500 into the crown later on may give you enough to be content if your hair characteristics are favorable. 

As for exosomes the jury is still out. There are many clinics claiming great results but fail to deliver evidence or photos. They talk a big game, but do not deliver. I have seen some clinics state how great Exosomes are, but time and time again fail to show proof. I'd hold off on Exosomes and invest as much into the Hair transplant instead. 

Just curious, @451stroker how were your final results with Cooley both in growth and scar outcome? 

Wow, that is not the expected outcome from a reputable clinic. It's unfortunate because we really cannot afford to mess up hair transplants. Sorry OP, wish the results were different, genuinely I do. I hope you received your money back and more.

Exosomes seem to lack 'social proof' or real results. It is difficult to find consistent results from reputable sources. Seems to be a ton of talk yet little to show. Regenera on the other hand is rarely discussed. Again, little results however there is a poster on this forum @MM2020 who used it in combination with a hair transplant (only 1200 grafts) with remarkable results. May be something more to this Regenera and possibly > exosomes...? 

Dang, for only 1200 grafts this is a stellar result. Your hair  grew in such a short time and very well. I saw you had Regenera done with your procedure. Do you contribute any of your early grown and overall success to it? 

Thanks aaron1234, how long did the doctor leave the sutures in for your scar reduction procedure? I wonder if for a 2nd or 3rd procedure it would be beneficial to leave stiches in longer than the first time, or if that would have little to no effect?

Thank you BeHappy, you hit on numerous variables which could impact a 2nd scar's appearance. Appreciate you taking the time to respond! In the end you control what you can and hope you chose a great doc and have great healing abilities.  

Please forgive me if this specific question has been answered. I searched but likely overlooked it in my efforts. 

Understanding variables exist such as scalp laxity, amount of grafts, personal physiology, etc. if someone were to have  a modest 2500 graft fut procedure which produced a thin scar and then went on to have another 3500 grafts 3 years later, would the scar be the same size? Say the same surgeon did the procedure, same post op protocol, no flexion, basically the post op instructions followed to the letter? 

I have read numerous 'authorities' stating the 2nd HT scar is almost always guaranteed to be wider than the first which has me slightly concerned. The communities insight is extremely appreciated!

Exosomes appear a game changer, but as many have stated, online before and after results are sorely lacking. @arussell thank you for committing to showing us some before and afters. I am highly interested in seeing the results as I am sure many are as well. We look forward to your follow up!
