Well, my doc wanted me to use oral Minoxidil and not topical, so I'd prefer to avoid 'fessing up about that π
-
Just from the research I did, three months seemed a good period. I read in some places it had to be six months. But if people on here are saying a single month, I can get onboard with that, as this site is my most trusted resource.
Thanks again for the replies, but I'm still looking for my answer, lads π

Thanks, both.
I don't want to use oral Minoxidil 'cause of the possible effect on your heart(!).
I'm still not clear. If I stop using Minoxidil for three months post surgery, will my hair loss restart at the point it was when I started the Minoxidil, or will any hair that would have fallen out if I wasn't using Minoxidil, fall out?

Many thanks. I don't want to take Fin or Dut, it's topical Minoxidil only.
Anyone else have a more conclusive answer? π

I had a transplant in January, and am planning on a second one to take care of the crown. I'm using topical Minoxidil on the top and front of my head, as I assumed the crown area had no more hair to lose, but now I want to Minoxidil the crown area too.
My question is, does Minoxidil halt hair loss, or just keep the hair from falling out whilst you're using it? When I have the second transplant I would need to stop the Minoxidil for three months on the recipient area, so it'd obviously be a waste of time starting it prior, if any hair would fall out anyway when I stopped.
Thanks π

So it's the same as washing then. Thanks π

Tried Googling this but no luck. Thanks π

Thanks, lads.
It came up when I Googled it. It was an iffy article; it also said Minoxidil or other aids were pointless after a transplant.

Everywhere else say's Minoxidil is fine, but you know how it is, that one article in a hundred π

Thanks so much, very informative π

What the title says.
Just wanted to ask too, how long can shock loss last? Many thanks π

Thanks so much, ya'll π

Thanks, so much π

So my transplanted hair fell out, over a week ago now, but hasn't returned. Normal? I'm approximately two months, post op. Thanks π

Thanks, so much π
As you get so many different answers when Googling, just another couple of questions.
When can I shower normally again, as in, allow my head to go under the jet?
When can I wash my hair normally again, as right now I'm still using the jug method. Actually massage shampoo it in to my scalp, use my old shampoo's (I'm currently using SebaMed, provided by the clinic) and towel dry?
Many thanks π

Iβll just chip in to say I agree with Melvin
Did you get Fue or fut? With fut you have to leave the hair longer to hide the scar. With Fue you may be able to shave to a one or two guardΒ
It's a FUE.
A number two grade isn't cutting it short enough, am I okay to go to a one grade, which looks fine? Would I be okay to cut the recipient on a one as well? I'm now approximately one month after surgery.
Just another thing as well, whilst I'm here. The donor area has grown back but there's a small area that is thinner than the rest. I know about over harvesting, but is this normal to begin with?

Thanks, mate. All the best with your recovery and result π

I think it might be to do with the fact I've always had scalp problems and if I went a day without using my shampoo's (Capasal or T-Gel) it would get like this, and I've been using SebaMed, provided by my clinic. They say use Aloe Vera gel. I went in to a couple places yesterday with no luck, and am going to try some more today, but if I can't find any, anyone have any suggestions? Would E45 or such be fine?

The donor. Thanks π Does it matter how low the grade is? I wouldn't 0 it, but if you go too low could I hurt the area that's healing? (I'm a month, post surgery, next Tuesday)
