I had smp done for an unsightly scar in the back and it didn't work very well. I use caboki to conceal the scar and it looks 100 times better than the smp. I used to use derm match, but I found that caboki looks way more natural as it gives the illusion of thicker hair while derm match looks more like a colored scalp. I had negative comments about using concealer when I used DM, but nobody ever noticed anything when I used caboki. I wouldn't do it just for the sake of convenience. SMP is actually less effective than a good concealer.

Thank you very much, 202

In 4-6 months the newly transplanted hair will start to grow, but they come in extremely thin and it's hard to see at first. After 7-8 months, you'll see a lot more growth and the hairs will be significantly thicker by then. Remember that it takes a full year to see the final results.

Thank you, Abi. I have a pretty good looking hairline at the moment, but the grafts behind the hairline are so stalky that I can't part my hair the way I'd like. Unfortunately, my doctor chose to camouflage rather than remove the old style pluggy grafts and this led to a less than perfect result. Although the hairline looks good, the hair behind the hairline points in the wrong direction.

Has anyone here had large grafts excised and then replanted? I mean the mini grafts of old containing 5 or more hairs per graft. Can a transplant be done in the same day or is graft excision and transplant not done on the same day?
Seriously Considering SMP Opinions, Thoughts?

I'll try to take some pics, but if your goal is to swim in the summertime, I'd just go au natural. Put on a baseball hat when you're out of the water. We're all looking for maximum density, but achieving perfection post transplant is not an easy task.
