  1. I found only middling reviews of Yaman (some good, some bad). I found only excellent reviews of Erdogan, so I chose him. Just returned from my HT and can tell you 100% I made the right choice. You can't go wrong with Erdogan.

I chose to go with the doctor that I felt I would have the least amount of risk of having a less-than-great result, and for that reason I went with Erdogan. To me it was worth picking the one that would give me the highest likelihood of the outcome I am looking for. I felt that saving thousands of dollars may lead to an outcome that was not as good. Or at minimum, lead to me second guessing my results for years. That level of uncertainty in the long run was not worth the cost savings in the short run.

  2. I am 36 and have been researching hair transplants for the past 3 - 4 years. I have been losing hair for the past 10 years and on minoxidil for 4 years. Finally got enough courage to pursue the hair transplant this year and started doing more intense research on doctors. Over and over I came across the incredible results and stellar reputation of Dr. Erdogan at Asmed, so I decided to contact them and get a consultation online. From the first contact, I could tell that this was a highly professional, organized, and top-notch clinic. I also contacted other clinics to compare, but none were as impressive as Asmed.

I booked my date and was assigned to work with Esen as my patient coordinator. She has been a pleasure to work with throughout these past few months and made my entire experience a great one. Dr. Erdogan recommended that I start using finasteride, so I got a prescription for it and have been on it for 3 months now.

I wired Asmed my deposit and booked flights. Was nervous to take the balance of over 10,000 euro via cash, but having read so many stories on here it reassured me that all Asmed patients must travel with cash. In addition, it was nice that they were flexible in allowing me to pay with USD instead of exchanging to Euro.

I'm not going to go into extreme detail about the procedure and the clinic because I will echo what everyone on here says about Asmed...it is a top notch clinic and they make you feel so welcome and important. Every single person I met there was extremely courteous, kind, and helpful. They all go out of their way to help you and make you feel that you are a VIP. I cannot stress how important it is to have a clinic like this when you travel so far away to an unfamiliar place with a foreign language. They put me at ease and helped me to feel confident in the choice I made and in the procedure and process for everything. There were so many people I interacted with during my time there, but I want to especially thank Esen, Suzana, Dr. Umut, Dr. Erdogan, and the main technician doing the extractions and graft placements (unfortunately I forgot her name). Esen or Suzana were always present during the two days of operation so that if I had any questions or concerns they were there to translate. They also both went out of their way to explain everything that was going to happen so that I was comfortable.

All in all, I cannot recommend Asmed enough. This is one of those businesses that you feel happy you came to know about and don't mind handing your money over to. It is a highly professional operation that runs seamlessly.

    And now for the stats:

    Grafts: 5120

    Ratio: 2.18 hair/graft

    912 singles

    2602 doubles

    1284 triples

    218 quads

    3 quints

    1 sextuple

    Total donor: 9800

    Hair density: 68 microns

  3. Hey Guys,

Wanted to ask you.. Just cut my hair. Really short on the sides and back.

I think the contrast between the temple points and native hair is kinda big. I feel that if you look at it you will react to it. What do you guys think? will people notice?

No worries when i grow it out a bit but when i cut it short like that it comes out i think.

Yowza! Def noticeable when short, but awesome when longer. What do you think the issue is when short--is it that the doctor placed too much density in the the temple points? Your input will help me, as I am scheduled with Erdogan in the Summer and do like to cut my hair super short on the sides like you just did.

    Great results thus far!

  4. Thanks for supplying the pics...that always helps.

The bottom line is that if you want the type of work that you described for your frontal zone "and" your crown/mid-scalp, then even 5,000 grafts may not be enough.

Did any of the doctors mention the proposed level of grafted density?...because if you were to lower the degree of density for the mid-scalp and crown, you can work with the 5,000 graft number. Your frontal zone could take 3,000 - 3,500 grafts easily based on your pics.

The reason I believe the doctors who recommended FUT in your first procedure is due to the amount of work needed.

Thank you, Gillenator. No, none of them mentioned any specific density. I am definitely surprised to hear that 5,000 may not be enough! If I do get the 5,000 does it look to you like I will have enough donor left for follow up FUEs?

  5. Hi All,

I've been doing my research and wanted to get some input from the community on the recommendations I received from doctors recommended on this forum.

I am 36 and have been losing hair for the past 10 years, but has stabilized over the past 4 years or so. I want to lower hairline slightly and fill in the temple points. I would also like to work on the mid scalp and crown, as you will notice thinning in both of those on my pictures.

This will be my first procedure and I am trying to finalize my decision so that I can schedule for the summer. I would like to do one procedure now and not have to think about doing another one for 10+ years, but don't want to deplete all my donors now.

I've done a lot of research on surgeons and have a good idea of my top 2 - 3, but as you will see below, there is a wide range of recommendations on the number of grafts.

Bhatti: 3500 (1500 for hairline and temples, 2000 crown), FUE

    Cinik: 3000-3500, FUE

    Erdogan: 5000, FUE

    Lindsey: 2500 - 3000, FUT

Nader: 4000-4500 (2000 front and 2000-2500 crown), FUE

    Soni: 3500, FUT

    Vories: 4000, FUE

    Yaman: 3500-4000, FUE

My preference is FUE because I like to wear my hair short in the back, but two of the doctors insisted FUT would be better for me.

    Your input is appreciated!

  6. Seems like a lot of recent posts are from new members that are here with hidden agendas to either promote a doctor or tear one down. I’m a new member also, but I am here to learn because I am interested in HT and am researching. The value of this forum is great, but lessening with all of these ridiculous posts by people who obviously have some agenda.

  7. I would say that the hair loss has been pretty stable over the past few years, with the exception of the crown area. Crown was about where it is now a few years back, but then I started Rogaine and it got a lot better. However, over the past 6 months the crown seems to have regressed to where it was before I started Rogaine.

    Your input is appreciated!

  8. Hi everyone. I have been lurking around for a while, but this is my first post!

I am 36 and have been losing hair for the past 10 years. I have been using minoxidil for the past 4 years, but have not used any other hair treatments or prescriptions. I am interested in achieving a thicker, fuller, and lower hairline including temples. And if possible, the crown as well. I have never had a hair transplant surgery.

As you can tell, I have diffuse thinning. In your opinion, am I a candidate for HT? If you believe I am, what is your opinion regarding number of grafts I will need?

    Thanks!
