  1. juz...You will get a few different opinions about shaving but generally a good DR. can get strong yield with or without shaving. Look around and do some research on this site and you will basically find every answer you are looking for. On a good note the hair you still have looks good and in the hands of a top DR. you should be able to see some dramatic changes if you decide on another HT. Best Wishes!

  2. kydd....I can imagine your dilema....having ended up with a positive result and a nice scar Im sure its like having that first HT all over again. I would consider 2 things, first do you wear your hair very short that a less the perfect scar would show? And second is you did have a positive result both with the scar and your HTs improvement to your looks which you like. So having a second hair transplant might give you the look and the density that you desire and there is a good chance you will still have a very good scar after your second HT. Which would be awesome and thats what I would have to consider if it was me! I feel for ya and know what a tough decsion this is! Best of luck whatever you decide!

  3. Cori....if Dr. Shapiro is your first choice then I would use him. Its not a long flight and they work with you for travel! One thing that I have learned from this site and it's many poster's is never let travel be a deciding factor and I agree with them 100%. So if you have done your research and you like Dr. Shapiro then I would say hop on a plane and go see him! Best of luck!

  4. Very nice result indeed! Was wondering if 2539 graphs is to aggressive considering his age and family history. Is there enough donor left to properly cover the rest of his scalp if he follows his father and ends up norwood 6? I know he is using meds but what if they lose efficiency....that is my biggest fear! I hope for both of us the meds keep working! He does seem to have good characteristics.

  5. very nice result including the scar! "The day after the intervention, the patient is worried about the temples which would have not been sufficiently covered, and I reassure him. The aspect of the surgery is very clean thanks to the use of physiological liquid used during the night following the intervention.

Evolution is fast and encouraging" would like to know more details about this comment and what is this physiological liquid?

  6. dakota....I would agree with you that anyone engaging in an intese work out raises testosterone levels but I'm not sure about your statement of "A person with the MPB gene has incresed levels of DHT correct?" and I would love to know if it is infact true. I was under the impression that a person with the MPB gene does not have more DHT or elevated levels but just more sensitive to the effects of the DHT. I believe this because you see many body builders that have higher testosterone levels and DHT levels but have full heads of hair. Some even use anabolic steroids and synthetic testosterone. So I would think they have the same levels of DHT as someone with the MPB gene, its just their hair is not sensitive to the DHT. Just my opinion and would love to know exactly! The bottom line... I believe is this....if you have the MPB gene you will lose your hair if your work out or not.

  7. Baker....I also agree Emperor and Sparse....you need much more than 1000 graphs to give you any kind of destity that your probaly looking for! Shapiro is a good place to start with a consult....and of course I would recommend them as you can tell who I went with for my HT!icon_biggrin.gif Take some time and research Drs. and pt. results also take some time and consider your goals. In the end your may see why strip may be a better option for you! Good Luck with your desicion!

  8. jspence.... a dermatologist will probaly have better knowledge about propecia. especially if you want to try and get the generic proscar to save some serious cash. when i asked my primary care Dr. about propecia when i was young she said it was bas and didnt want to give me the prescription, she said wait ther are new and better things for hair loss coming soon....that was 10 years ago! I went to my dermatologist who also is a hair transplant dr. who gave me propecial....no sides whatsoever to date! so try and see a dermatologist of hair restoration Dr. they will have the most knowledge to help you! best wishes!
