12.5 Months
So it's been a while since I updated, been kinda busy and continued delaying updating. Anyway, here are the 12.5 month pictures, taken straight after a haircut today.
I'm very extremely happy with the result even though my hair is not perfect. The hairline density isn't 100%, especially in very bright lighting and on camera. The crown is also not completely filled in, but the way I wear my hair completely covers that so no one sees anything. But make no mistake, I'm over the moon with the result and the decision to go ahead with the HT at ASMED.
That being said I am considering another procedure with ASMED to crank to up the density but probably won't decide on it until after the full 18 months.
I uploaded two sets of photos, both with my hair dry and then blow dried and styled the way I wear it every day. My hair looks terrible with nothing in it as I have very curly and wiry hair. I almost never leave the house with some sort of a product in it. The pictures are taken in very bright lighting and my camera seems to always increase the reflection on my scalp haha. But the photos should give you guys a decent idea on how it looks every day.
Finally I want to thank the community here for helping me reaching my decision and I hope my updates help someone.
Until next time

I like the hairlines design. It is age approbriate and matching you facial Features.
It could be a litle more dense and soft in the fist row but: This was not a hairline case, but almost a full new head of hair. 300 grafts in the front and you are a 10/10 IMO.
Thank you, Maybe further down the line I'll add grafts to the front, but not until the full 18 months have passed at least.

10 months and you still have redness? i m not happy with my HT but i wait 18 months and then i have to talk to them aswell.
Should be noted that I have fair skin and it has always been very sensitive to trauma. But hopefully it will fade soon.

Hi, Hankski,
Since you asked, no, I don't particularly like it. There's hair there, but looks a bit too pluggy and not soft enough for me - some of the same problems I felt with my transplant, so I hope I don't come across as though I'm talking down to you.
Haha no worries, wouldn't have posted the picture if I was afraid of that
Of course it can always be better, but there is room for improvement in my case. 10 months in and the hairs will become more natural in time.

High Res
If you look very closely you can see maybe 2-3 double hair grafts, not more. Still a slight lingering redness on the scalp and the density is not at 100% But still very happy

From a distance your transplant has been a success. You now have hair. Would like to see up close picture of how the hairline actually looks and how hair falls? If you are happy with it thats the most important thing not anyway else's opinion.
I am just not happy with his work and i know a few others who are not happy either
Sorry to hear that you're not happy with his work. Hopefully you can get the result you are happy with a touch up to the hairline. Either with ASMED or somewhere else.
Personally, I'm very happy. The picture I uploaded is taken up close and in studio lighting. Don't know how I can show the hairline better TBH.
Maybe I can take another high res image and host it somewhere so the resolution shows the hairline better.

Hi Handski,
Looking good my friend. I've been following your progress from day 1, and the improvement month on month keep coming. I'm a little over 4 months behind you, so its great to see the huge strides made from 5 months to where you are now. I think your hairline looks great, and the style your sporting really suits you. You must be very pleased so far. I know another thread had people criticising the 'Asmed' hairline and number of grafts used. Looking forward to your 12 month update, hopefully you have more left in the tank - maturity and density wise. We have similar loss and similar amount of grafts placed, I will be over the bloody moon - if I get to where you are at 9.5 months. All the best.
Thank you very much! I have also been following your progress, you have insane growth at 4 and 5 months. Way better than I had at the same stage of the process.
You can eelax, you have already won the lottery. Now you just have to wait a little for the full ticket to be cashed in
All the best!

I am an Erdogan patient and I was pretty happy with my hairline until I read this thread
All jokes aside, these pictures are taken today, 10 months after my transplant. I am happy with the hairline, but would you guys categorize it as a standard unartistic hairline? What about singles in the hairline, does it look pluggy?
Should I be unhappy with it? I've only gotten positive feedback from everyone around me.
Give me your honest feedback
-
Looking good already and I hope the hairline fills in during the next couple months.
Thanks! I've been seeing more improvement in density the last weeks, so I am very optimistic

Hi
Your before pics are just like looking in the mirror. I have been contacted with Asmed as well and now looking forward to book surgery. Im also Skandinavian with fine light hair, and your post with updates have convinced me that with Dr. Erdogan my transformation can be as fantastic as yours.
Good to hear, I say go for it! Best decision I made

Best of luck and happy growing!
Thank you! Growing is indeed making me happy

Looks very good! Also nice that the donor area seems to be completely healed after the shock loss/scalp issues. Was it the cortisone cream that solved it and did you continue with it?
I think at about 1-2 months or something you mentioned some stubble/early growth, did it continue to grow or fall out? Reason I?m asking is that I read about early stubble could be hairs with damaged follicles so that?s why it would stay as stubble in that case. What do you think?
Anyway, very happy for you. Must feel awesome to not think about the hair as much anymore, except for which haircut to try next.
Thank you!
I don't think I had any damaged follicles fortunately, it just continued to grow. My scalp was very bad from pimples in the start but they are completely gone now. I am only using a shampoo called N2 and sometimes a Coal Tar shampoo. Maybe that helped.

9.5 Months
Sorry that I haven't updated as regularly as before. I guess that once the hair begins taking shape you just start living your life without thinking about it every day. Exactly the peace of mind a successful HT should give you IMO.
Anyway. Here are some quick photos taken in very very harsh bathroom lighting. I am wearing my hair slicked back with a little product in it. Just as I wear it every day, fresh from the barber. There is some density lacking in the hairline on the left side, but nothing that bothers me. The crown is almost completely filled in and thinning is only noticeable in very harsh light. ASMED tells me there is more to come density wise so I should be good. It also always seems that the white reflection on the scalp seems more on photos than in real life. So my hair looks much better in real life than in photos.
It is safe to say that I'm completely over the moon with the result and happy with my decision. People around me say that I look a good 10 years younger now.
I will probably do a final update at 12 months.

7 Months
The journey continues with solid improvements since last month. The trouble area in my right temple is slowly catching up and overall hairline density is improving. The crown also keeps improving and I'm not using fibres anymore unless I'm going out.
As usual I added a couple of photos, hair is dry and combed back.
I will add some more photos in the coming days, wet look and fully styled.
Happy new hair year!

Hi Handski,
Looks like more solid progress my friend. Funny how a few weeks can see huge improvements at this stage. You did say in an earlier post, the area behind the hairline on the right side was lacking. Has this area caught up? Great to hear that that you are a happy camper with the results so far. It's a big expense and commitment and must be so disappointing when the desired results are not achieved. Luckily for you, I think your in the 'another Asmed Success' group , I hope to be joining the group in around 6 or 7 months .
It's been a long journey with all the research, consultations and constant pondering. I consider myself very lucky to be so happy with my decision to have the procedure and how it's working out.
The area on the right side is is slowly catching up, I was pretty worried at first but ASMED assured me that the area would catch up eventually

6 months...and about a week
Just a quick update. I can see improvements almost every week now, getting pretty excited about the finale outcome.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but I feel it's all coming together now, finasteride, ketoconazol, caffeine shampoo and of course the HT. I'm getting optimistic now that this procedure and finasteride will be enough to fill the crown area. If that happens I will be f***** ecstatic as I was sure I needed two operations for a "full head of hair".
Took some pictures in the bathroom after shower, my hair is freshly washed and dry. The lighting is not doing me any favors and as always I feel that my hair looks much better in real life than in these photos.
Anyway, happy days

6 months
Here I am, at the "half way point". Things have progressed pretty much how I expected them to do. The growth has been steady this month and my hairline has thickened up really nice. Although there is a spot on the right side behind the hairline that is visibly lacking in density. I'm not sure if it's just behind in growth, bad yield or just not enough density. I guess only time will tell.
I have attached some photos. The first 4 are taken of my hair dry at the same place and under the same lighting as usual and are very unflattering. The later 4 are taken with the lighting not as harsh and with a some styling product in my hair.
I have to say that my hair looks much better in real life than in those photos, when I style it during the day It looks like I almost have a full head of hair, slicked back and everything
So far I'm very happy with the results but still hoping for more density in the coming months.

wow you are doing well. you will have great results in next few months. do you use minoxil ?
as i said mine is booked for 5k grafts with Dr. Erdogan. anything advise on pre op preparations? I have started taking Finasteride.
Thank you, hopefully it will thicken up nicely in the coming months.
Good that you have started taking finasteride, hopefully you will have no side effects. It's really started to work for me after about 7-8 months. Long may it continue to work
I don't use minoxidil, just follow the instructions from ASMED. I believe the ask you to stop using minoxidil a couple of months prior to the surgery.
Good luck!

Just a small update before my 6 month update in 11 days time or so.
The growth is slowly but surely kicking in and propecia doing some work also.
A few pictures of my hair styled back in some pretty harsh office lighting. The hairline is still seethrough in this lighting, but at night and in clubs it's perfect
Full update soon!

Superb! Congratulations man!

Hi Irsh92,
These are questions you should already have the answers to, prior to booking a procedure. If not contact the clinic and ask them. Any reputable Dr will only take grafts from the safe zone and encourage you to take meds’ to prevent further loss in the areas where you still have hair that is thinning. You will be in great hands with Dr Koray I’m sure. Please do more research and reading up as you do seem very naive. I’m not having a go, just trying to offer advise. Good luck on your Op.
+1
I think you should do WAY more research before booking a procedure. Especially at your young age.
Also not having a go.
Good Luck!

Hi Mate
i was wondering how are you going with your recovery?
I have decided to do FUE early next year but i am confused with below two doctors.
Dr. Erdogan
Dr. Resul Yaman.
Erdogan has no doubt the best reviews but Resul Yaman is not bad as well. The price difference is huge.
I tilted more towards Dr Erdogan but if the outcome will be same why should i pay twice as much as Resul Yaman.
Erdogan = 2.5 euro per graft.
Yaman = 1 euro per graft.
Can you please upload any updates?
Thanks
I obviously can't tell you which one to choose. You have to gather information, read reviews and talk to other patients and then make a decision you feel is best for you.
For me the price wasn't an issue. After months of research I narrowed the doctors down to Dr. Hasson (FUT at $19K) and Dr. Erdogan (FUE at €12.5K). I finally went with Dr. Erdogan as I wanted to be able to wear my sides very short and FUE would allow me that. Dr. Erdogan results posted online both by patients and the clinic itself were so consistent and exceptional that I decided to go with him for FUE.
Price should never be a deciding factor when thinking about a HT.
I will update on the 6 month mark, should be around November 28th next. The growth is slow but gradual at the moment.

5 months
Well that happened fast, been 5 months already. I had some solid growth this month but still hoping for much more. The hairline is starting to frame my face and the vertex is slowly filling in. Some of the hairs are pretty thick and dark and others very thin and lighter looking but the appearing of new hairs has slowed down very much.
I'm not sure what to make of this progress, I know it's still "early days" but there is always this fear that the density will not be what I was hoping for. The temples are still very weak and noticeably thinner than the middle area. I know the transplanted density will never match the original but I'm still hoping that the difference won't show. Hopefully I'm just a slow grower and the glory of the full 5000 grafts will be showing at 12 months
The images attached are very unflattering, but for the sake of consistency I took them at the same spot with the same camera settings (flash) as previous pictures. There are also some pictures of my hair wet.
Please feel free to comment!

Thanks
Certainly. Here are pictures of my hair wet and dry, I tried to comb it in the worst possible way for my crown. Taken in harsh bathroom lighting and outside in the sun.
Considering where I was in the beginning I think I can be happy with the current results. If I go ahead and get another operation I shouldn't be afraid to expect a full head of hair.
But as I said in a earlier post, the crown area is never exposed on a day to day basis and even when I go swimming it's barely noticeable.
