Very nice. Just curious if the pain/recovery of receiving grafts on the face is worse than the scalp. It seems like it would be much more sensitive.

After local anesthesia, the patient doesn't feel any pain on face and head.The only drawback is that after a beard transplant, the patient should take liquid meal because he doesn't feel his jaw. in relation to beard transplantation than hair transplantation, recovery here is faster. in each patient the degree of pain is different. Eventually... No pain No Gain!

At each consultation, I look carefully at the donor area... beard also must be appropriate and healthy.The beard donor area where I use is usually the area 2 fingers under chin (between chin and neck. Otherwise, if it is taken from other region (face side), there is a chance of leaving a scars.

In addition to my last comment, I share photos of a patient with second session hair transplantation. I used extra 800 beard grafts. These are direct taken pictures from the surgey room. you can clearly see that after the 10th day the donor area has fully healed.

I agree - fashions come and go fleetingly. The Hipster Beard will be replaced by some other thing.

 

My beard has nothing to do with the current movement - I'm just anticipating that my time machine will work properly so I can visit ancient Rome.

usually young people waching TV series and they take artist's for idol. This was also the case in Turkey, when a historical series related of the Ottoman Empire was broadcast. Then everyone was mad about beard transplantation. I refused to do beard transplantation 17-18-19 year old boys.

It Looks great but 3000 grafts into the beard? Wow...

Hopefully he will not get hairloss. One thing is for sure: In a couple of years the hippster beard will be out-fashioned.

In fact, I transplanting beard to over 25 years old men, because beard growth is related to the hormonal balance of a patien and genetic codes dominate after 25 years of age... not every man is endowed with a thick beard....every patient have own point of view just matter of satisfaction

When the donor area is weak (weakened) I use, as an extra option, beard grafts. Usually I use in second session (or 3th session), for crown area hair transplantation. These two zones (head's back side or beard) are the only two parts on man's body where hair is encoded against hair loss. I dont use chest grafts becouse this alternative is very painfull and grafts die after 2-3 years. It's bad for patient.

I have a lot of hair transplantation patients with combined grafts (hair and beard grafts). After get their permission, I will post the photos here.
