  1. can anyone recommend a good virtual doctor site to prescribe finasteride?...  Just a service that sends a prescription to your pharmacy.  I used to use heydoctor,, it looks like they got bought out by goodrx and the price went from $20 to $30 to $50 per visit.

  2. here are the results. 2 pictures are hair combed forward(1st and 4th pic)/ and 2 pics show hair combed back(2nd and 3rd pic).

besides the HT on the hairline, look at the how thin my hair was on the entire scalp on "couple hours after HT" pictures in my previous post. you can see I have gained a lot of density on the entire scalp since then from finasteride.

  3. Keep in mind there are also many homeruns that the clinic cannot show because the patient has not given authorization. This point gives me lots of hope when looking at clinics' results.

In my case, I had very good results. The doc sent me a letter to come in to examine the results, I couldn't come in. Enough time passed and they pretty much forgot about me.

  4. You might want to think of a strategy. Coverage on what part of the scalp is a priority to you? personally, I transplanted my hairline because it effects my appearance the most. Also , the back of the scalp was such a big bald/thin spot that it would have depleted my donor supply. So the rest of the scalp I wanted to try restoring with treatment (fin, minox, nizoral).

It took less than a year for my hair to look almost full. treatment can really work.

in the future I might need another transplant, if the meds cant keep my hair. Im working my way from the front(hairline) to the back. At some point I might have to just leave the back bald if it gets bad again.

  5. You have a similar balding pattern to me except my entire top was thinner and my hairline was receded back far in a "V" shape. I had that good patch of hair in the front center like you, but everything around it was thinning out. I had a HT to fix up my hairline a little but the treatment really thickened up everything else.

So I could use the recommend dosage for my vertex with the liquid 2x day and the foam 2x a day. Would that be too much?

you are thinking a full dose for the vertex and another full dose for the front???

sounds like a lot . From my experience maybe a full dose is good for the vertex and go lighter on the front.

  6. From my experience minox alone didn't do much for my hairline(5/6years). But minox + fin helped preserve and regrew some thin vellus hairs all the way down to my original hairline(about 8 months).

It looks like the center of your hairline has a patch unaffected by hairloss but the coners of your hairline are thinning out and behind that patch is thinning out too. You should apply minox there. Just keep an eye on the skin on your face

  7. I use the recommended amount on the vertex and just few drops on my hairline. Thanks to a hair transplant, there isn't much area to cover on my hairline.

I used to use more minox and covered the entire top of my head with it. It was too much and started to screw up the skin on my face. I cut down and side effects went away fast.

  8. I copy and paste from the other thread

I have ruled out taking fin for years like you. My doctor convinced me though. He told me try it, if you have side effects ,then quit. And most guys don't have major sides from fin.

I believe the standard dose of fin is 1mg a day. I use a pill cutter to cut mine in half, 0.5mg a day.

Only twice I started to notice mild symptoms, so I take a break from it (a few days) and let the drug clear out of my system. symptoms go away. Then start up again.

  10. I used to take the full dose (1mg). Then switched to a half dose. I can go for months without any side effects but a couple times I have (mild). I really don't want to cut the dose lower than half either.

I just stop taking fin for maybe a few days or a week, and let it clear out of my system. When all symptoms are gone I start up again. So maybe average twice a year I have to quit fin.

Maybe the fin just builds up after taking it everyday for months and months and you got to clear it out once in a while. IDK
