Which clinics are you looking at ? If they are using it as a way of bumping up the price then no. Are they suggesting you need multiple PRP sessions ? Again no.

It may or may not be with Rahal.

There is no pressure at all to sell. However I do understand it's recommended, and is additional money, yes.

It's till being used for healing purposes - and effectively.

Unfortunately, and I've seen this throughout the industry, (when it comes to hair). most do not know how to do it.  If you hear "come back every few weeks..." run the other way as fast as you can.  Or, take photos, communicate...and when the results do not happen, ask for your money back.

A few, however, are getting great results throughout the entire head, (even the front) and with a time lapse of 1+ years.  PRP is doing two things, reversing the thinning and getting faster results if done at the time of the transplant procedure.

So you think I should opt for the PRP with my FUE, for sure?

They may start selling minoxidil shots in the bars. That will be fun. I know the tropical solution are alcohol based but not sure if that's edible form of alcohol. You know there are some types of alcohol which can cause poisoning if ingested orally.

It's just ethanol.. and it's like 1 drop, for most people.

I feel the more the better. Although I don't want to raise the dose to risk negative side effects, I may well drop down to 5mg if my blood pressure lowers etc

Great results so far, I'd say 70-80% decrease in shedding

    Just to be sure..

So you were NOT using minoxidil at all prior, no topical?

And you jumped on 10mg oral minox, right?

You have a 70%-80% decrease in shedding now... but did you shed initially?

There was a guy that had a topic over in the hair loss drug section that said he was drinking it. I tried to warn him against it. Here's the label for one of the more popular brands of minoxidil sold in the USA, the Kirkland brand. It clearly has a warning about swallowing it

    image.thumb.png.9b12776d11be222fbff2f32457b970e2.png

That doesn't mean much though. Of course they put that in case someone tries to drink 1ml or something.

One must look at the ingredients, they are all 'safe' and you would only require 1 or 2 drops.

Active Ingredients: Kirkland Minoxidil 5% w/v. Inactive ingredients: Alcohol, 30% v/v, propylene glycol, 50% v/v, purified water.

    5% strength means

    1ml = 50mg 0.1ml = 5mg 0.01ml = 0.5mg

One "drop" is around 0.05ml roughly which equates to 2.5mg of minoxidil.

While the first might be true the second makes no sense. Minox and FIN have totally different work pathes, hence there is no connection between sides of one or the other IMO.  A lot of sides from minox coming from the other ingredients, not from minox itself.

Anyway, oral makes IMO only sense if you are a topical non responder IMO.

I am using FIN since 7+ years without critical side effects. Unfortunately, I got heavy skin irritations from liquid minox. I do not get any from the foam, but figured I have not enough enzymes in the skin and hence am a non responder. On oral minox I got a lot of regrowth/new growth, but also on beard and body hair. Had to stop as I could not get a prescription though and drinking the liquid gave me again skin irritations.

    Very interesting.

It makes sense the topical minoxidil can be used orally as it's basically just alcohol and pg.

How did you measure it out exactly? What dosage did you use? 0.1ml = 5mg?

Is there a general consensus for what the dosage should be, if someone was using 5% topical minoxidil twice daily beforehand.

The reason being, topical should be stopped about a week before and a week and more pre and post transplant. But to not trigger a telogen effluvium from stopping minoxidil, taking a small dosage of oral in the meantime might be a good idea.

Would 1.25mg daily be considered to "hold the fort" so to speak, or maybe 2.5mg total (1.25mg morning and 1.25mg evening)?

How long have you been using 5% topical minox twice daily?

    How have your results been?

  8. It's been just over 12 months since I sat down in the chair with Dr. Hasson. I can say without hesitation that is was one of the best things I have ever done. I am very grateful to Dr. H and the team over at H&W, who I cannot thank enough.

I used to waste so much time and energy worrying about my hair. and this anxiety had a massive impact on every aspect of my life. I now no longer worry about how my hair looks and it has resulted in me not only looking better, but also feeling better too. This has has the knock on effect of improving my overall disposition, my confidence at work, and my confidence with the opposite sex. In my eyes this is priceless and I would not hesitate go through the entire process again.

I also encourage everyone who is thinking about taking the plunge to do their research, find a doc they are happy with and go ahead - if you go with a top doc it is very likely you will have a good result.

Thank you as well to all of the forum members who contribute to the community every day, and to those who have supported me and said kind things to me over the last year. You have all been a great source of support for something which is (for most people) very private.

    Pictures for 12 months below.

    TJ

    Incredible man, just incredible. :)

I myself am coming up on 8 months or so and loving my results too :)

TJ I hope you will continue to post updates!!

TJ, upon doing research I have found some very interesting information you may be interested in checking out.

Check out the attached pictures. :)

  9. Thanks, OR. I tapered it down from one every night to one every other night, probably around 6 months post-op. I continue to take it every other day. I would say noticing at 6 months in sounds about right. I reckon after one year it had maxed out. Please note that effects seem to wane if you stop. I had a friend who started taking it as well and his hair improved. He stopped against my advice for around 6-8 months and his hair got noticeably worse. He has since resumed taking his pills!

Let me know how you get on, would be great to hear feedback from others.

    1. Your progress pics are truly inspirational and your hair is looking FANTASTIC, to put it lightly :)

    2. I'm coming up on 2 months on 100mg oral Progesterone (taken once a day, at bedtime). Do you know if your hair loss perhaps got slightly worse at all before it got better? I'm not saying my hair has gotten worse, however I did start taking very detailed pictures and my crown and center is opening up a bit, more than I remembered.

I know it's very very early on the Progesterone, and if this was fin, people would tell me I'm crazy to expect results this soon. To answer that, I am not expecting any results as of yet, simply want to know if your hair may have gotten a bit worse before it got better? OR perhaps you simply noticed nothing at all until something positive around 6 months in?

I'd really love to hear more details about the 1st months to 1 year when you started on Progesterone, if you don't mind.

I had a FUT like you so there is NO turning back for me. I am pinning all of my hopes on Progesterone and I believe in it, just would love to hear some feedback from you on it.

    Thanks so much :):D

  10. I'm noticing for the first time that my hair is sitting flat properly. I thought I was basically done, but maturation of the hair does continue.

I have to say that Dr Hasson's hairline design and graft placement has been outstanding - there is the perfect balance of micro and macro irregularity. I've included a few closeups for anyone who's interested. First three are fresh out the shower, the others have product in my hair and the last one was taken outside.

    Great results man! Congrats.

Are you still using 100mg oral progesterone per night? I've been on this for a little bit now, few weeks.

You noticed thickening around say 6 months in? Can you elaborate a bit on your progesterone usage? :)

Myself and another guy are both following your 100mg of oral progesterone protocol, so we patiently await your reply and any additional thoughts/comments you would like to add about your progesterone usage.

    Thank you!

  11. As promised here are some pictures following a haircut I had today. They're presented slightly differently so you can see more of my head. To say I'm pleased with how it's turned out is an understatement :D

    Goddamn, incredible results man, congrats!

I'm at month 4 and you seem ahead of me at your month 4...

My left side is lagging behind...

Hope I get a result anywhere near yours

  12. Great results TJ spectacular actually, about the progesterone any negative sides? I know one guy who took it said he felt sleepy all day, I currently have an insomnia problem so doubt I would get that, do you need a script?

For natural oral progesterone, yes, most likely need a script unless you order it online somewhere from some pharmacy overseas.

Topical progesterone is very easy to get online though (just make sure it's USP aka pharma grade).

100mg oral progesterone = 10mg topical progesterone because oral bio-availability is not great.

There should be no negative side effects. If you look around, some men actually get BETTER erections and whatnot from progesterone.

    Progesterone in Men

    http://www.peaktestosterone.com/Progesterone_Erectile_Dysfunction.aspx

"The rats with low or no sexual activity had lower progesterone levels relative to those displaying the highest sexual performance after 9 days of training. Testosterone, in turn, was also significantly reduced in animals with low/no sexual performance compared with excellent/adequate rats. In conclusion, progesterone may be a limiting factor to promoting sexual performance in male rats." [8]

It's all very interesting. P.S guess what reduces progesterone metabolites a lot (and allopreg by 800%)? finasteride. :)

  13. So my surgery was exactly 8 months ago yesterday - how time flies!

Not much to report really, things seem to be always improving. My hair is longer than it ever has been, mainly due to not being able to get an appt at my barber and for no other reason.

As my hair is longer I have noticed the difference in the hair shaft as the grafts begin to settle down. The ends (which were formed some months ago) are much, much curlier - my hair is normally arrow-straight. I have also noticed that towards the root of each hair (which is newer) the hair sits more naturally, whereas before it tended to stick straight up. All in all the maturation of the hair is bringing about positive changes and I may post an update after my haircut next week to see how it looks when it's shorter.

I have also found that the scar is more noticeable as my hair gets longer - the temple region above my ears is pretty weak, so the hair never really gets long there. As a result when anything above it gets longer the hair kind of sits up. You can see a crease in the picture if you look very closely on the right hand side only, but it's not something a layman would ever notice.

Aside from that I'll let the pictures do the talking. Any feedback welcomed/

Incredible result at only 8 months!!! Congrats! I think we can say this is another huge success story from H&W :)

Tj, curious about your treatment to maintain, progesterone used once daily, 100mg, correct? I have also began using progesterone, going on 2months+ now. I use topical cream. I notice that it has eliminated all facial acne, and made my face much smoother, is this something you've noticed as well? No side effects at all, only positive ones like no more acne and better facial skin quality.

I think it's still early to notice any benefit on hair, but I would like to hope it's helping. When did you start to notice hair maintaining/thickening on progesterone? i.e how many months into treatment?

Thanks so much, and congrats again man.

  14. I still don't get, with the oral being legal here, what the f-n hold up with a topical is. How is it possible, with the huge sales of oral fin, that no company in the US has brought out a topical yet? I mean, I know the FDA is probably slow as shit, but you'd think by now...

I'm seriously considering trying to just find someone in Canada willing to fill a script and mail me a tube.

Polichem has a topical finasteride in phase 3 FDA trials right now!

Problem is there is topical fin available very easily if you want it, but they are just simple vehicles which will go systemic.

H&W liposomal finasteride and the upcoming Polichem topical finasteride are the most promising topical fin's right now, IMO.

  15. So... will this solve my issue and save my hair? Also.. how can a fella like me get my hands on this? I'm only 22 and very unfamiliar with studies and how to obtain things like this.. I just don't want to put my wang at risk anymore.. it's bad enough. I need to be sure this will work.. help?

What country are you in? If you're in Canada or Europe you can obtain it here: https://hassonandwong.com/topical-finasteride-solution-prescription/

    How To Get A Prescription

If you’re located in Canada, please complete the following steps in order to obtain a prescription:

    1-Print out the prescription form

2-Take the form to your doctor

3-Have your doctor complete the form

4-Have your doctor fax the form to the fax number on the form

It should give less sides than oral fin, ideally no sides at all.

  16. How accurate is this study? And why have people not heard of this? Lol because if this is the simple solution why are millions of men suffering from finasteride.. and Milan study? Aren't there studys of propecia hat are also bs? And how little is systematic? Will I not have side effects? Will my dick go back to normal?

https://hassonandwong.com/topical-finasteride-solution-prescription/ Link to study..link to form to get script.

I personally know a guy who has every imaginable side effect on oral fin, at any dosage... but switched to 0.5% per 1ml of this liposomal topical fin and he has ZERO sides now, zero point zero.

    A little math..

1ml at 2.5% of h&w = 1/18 of 1mg oral = 0.056mg fin serum levels (just to keep this in perspective, 2.5% means 25mg of finasteride per 1ml dosage!)

    1ml at 0.5% = 0.011mg fin serum levels

    1ml at 0.3% (which I've ordered) = 0.007mg fin serum levels

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18161632

Why don't know more about it? beats me... it's not available in the USA currently though. Some men, still DO get sides but its def less than oral..

Studies also show, applying fin topically inhibits more scalp DHT than oral dosage at the same dosage.

  17. Hi all,

I've had my front hairline restored to a place I'm ok with.

    2x fut

The 1st was 8 yrs ago when fue was not so common. As ut happens this procedure was botched.

I went fut again last year as I didn't want to shave, and al ready have the scar. It's ok as I don't have very short hair. As long as I can maintain what I have I'd be thrilled.

So far the crown has not thinned significantly. So what I'm trying to do now is see if I can prevent further loss via drugs.

I did try proscar before my first procedure and unfortunately suffered the side affects. These did not go away for months so I guess I'm one of the unlucky few.

So with this knowledge, is topical fin still an option? Should I just go the minoxidil route? I'd be open to trying other topical and or oral medications too, but would really appreciate any advice you guys have on what combos work, even a little to slow/maintain the loss.

    Thanks!

I know a guy who had EVERY bad imaginable side effect on oral fin, regardless of dosage, now he is using 0.5% per 1ml of liposomal topical fin from H&W and he has ZERO sides now! and its working....

I am trying to get more info on it from H&W reps though...
