  1. Yes, its been really growing since these past 2-3 weeks.

Everyone is different, how long did your shed take? You'll be sprouting any time soon.

Thanks ersko72, hoping to get as good a result as you!

I am thinking about it but will wait anther month or so.

    Thanks, hopefully the momentum continues.

Any reason why you are waiting this long? So basically after the HT you never had a hair cut or buzz cut with clipper?

  2. I think go overseas unless you want to fork out thousands more for similar or less result. Check the forum database for recommended FUE providers.

I can tell you this with FUT you will be stuck with a scar for life! It's so hard to get rid of it even with SMP or FUE on it. You can't shave your head or even buzz cut. With FUE even if you had a failure or more hair loss later still you can buzz cut or shave down to look normal, with FUT you can't

  3. Day 35 - Monday 14th November

I'm just debating with myself if the redness has gone down since last week? Looking at the same office picture from last Tuesday it's kind of the same, but definitely much reduced from a few weeks ago. For those who are interested, I am occasionally using some Aloe Vera gel on it but while it may technically be moisturising, it's leave the skin feeling tight. Not sure if it's helping or whether it's just fading on its own. I also bought some sweet almond oil last week, it's also (along with the Aloe Vera) one of the natural products that the clinic suggest may help with redness. First time I tried it I wasn't sure if it felt a bit odd (may have just been imagining it) so I washed it right off but last night I mixed a little gel and oil together and used that. Will try that for a few days. Would love to be able to put some kind of moisturiser cream on my scalp and the recipient area as it's quite dry and flaky (like dandruff).

Anyway, picture from the office today, again by the window so natural light.

I am surprised to see redness at day 35! You must have very sensitive skin. How was the shedding mate? Can you see tiny new hairs popping?

  4. No, it's not something I've considered or recommend by ASMED. Is that what you are doing? I did have PRP during the HT, but to be honest i wasn't initially going to bother with it as the feedback I got in here suggested that perhap it wasn't worth it. Only had it in the end as ASMED advised it was now included in the price so I figured what the heck. As for post op PRP, at this stage I just want the scalp to heal and the hair to grow, don't think I'd entertain more needles into the head for a long long while.

Speaking of pain, I haven't mentioned in a few days regarding the pain. Still getting some donor area discomfort, particularly when laying down/sleeping .. Guess it makes sense as its pressure on that area, think the short buzz cut is also contributing as it's quite bristle like. Anyway it's seems to be slowly diminishing but if it's playing up when I've gone to bed I've sometimes pop a painkiller. Also occasionally get a little mini pin prick pain in some areas which the clinic said could happen (think she described it as a insect bite lol :D) . Itching has also massively reduced. Still getting the occasional itch and tingle and the scalp feels tight and dry but for the most part I dont notice too much until I start thinking about it. Definitely looking forward to putting some Aloe Vera on the recipient area after Tuesday to help smooth and hydrate the area.

I did see many articles claiming benefits of prp and viceversa, but the theory behind prp looks good and I wonder if it's better to have it then not. Maybe couple of months after HT, not sure if anyone has done it that way though.

As for pain, it's just the healing process as they say. More like your nerves are coming back to life.

  5. Yeah, front hairline still looks a little sore and its still tender and a bit numb but generally seems to be healing good.

Yes, I just wasn't firm enough early on. Clinic advised I should be scab free by day 10, but I was waiting untill day 10 before being firmer to ensure the grafts had anchored. Its a double edged sword though because part of me wonders if not dealing with the scabs earlier may have cost me some hairs, with the scabs perhaps pulling the hair out as they dried out?

Have to say washing it was definitely one of the most stressful parts for me. If I do need to go back at some point for a 2nd surgery (perhaps for more density) then I would definitely stay in Istanbul for at least a week post surgery so that the clinic could washing it for me daily.

Fair enough mate, are you taking PRP injections post hair transplant? Or was it not required by your clinic?

  6. Yes i'm in contact with the patient adviser who told me to use the antiseptic and moisturiser.

Could you elaborate in what way it shouldn't be looking that way please?

I mean 9 day post op most of the scabs should be coming out and not yellowish. But then again it's only based on my experience on this forum and personally. Only your doctor can give you the right answer.

  7. Hi guys. I did the operation yesterday and it all went well. Dr. Yaman said i had a really good donor area and said he could easily remove 5000 grafts but he recommended me to only 3500 because he said it is enough. He guaranteed me a density of 45 cm2.

    Transplanted hair:

    650 single grafts

    1950 double grafts

    950 multiple grafts

Totally 3550 grafts and app. 7400 hairs.

I will take a picture with my professional camera every day for 360 days and make a video of it. For now i want to rest some days and afterwards i will give you a review.

Awesome job, and life changing as some would say.

Just wondering if the density of 45FU/cm2 is for frontal only? and if this is including you existing hair?

  8. Aftermath

    Some hard data

Note: the coverage value is calculated by an algorithm Dr Koray invented and presented at some conferences, which is now used also by other surgeons.

    Hair diameter: 55 micron

    Front left side: density = 59 FU/cm2, hairs/FU: 1.72, 5.5 coverage value

    Front right side: density = 57 FU/cm2, hairs/FU: 1.78, 5.5 coverage value

    Back left side: density = 84 FU/cm2, hairs/FU: 2.10, 9.7 coverage value

    Back right side: density = 85 FU/cm2, hairs/FU: 2.05, 9.5 coverage value

    Back: density = 89 FU/cm2, hairs/FU: 2.37, 11.6 coverage value

    Front area operation stats (day1): 2207 grafts, ratio 1.82 hair/graft, 696 single, 1216 double, 283 triple, 12 quadruple

    Top area operation stats (day2): 2404 grafts, ratio 2.14 hair / graft, 368 single, 1377 double, 626 triple, 32 quadruple, 1 quintuple

Well done mate, do you know the final coverage of the frontal aread in FU/cm2?
