  1. I'll include a photo of my hair arranged over the sparse spots to show what it's like styled.

Not too bad I think, but I really don't want to live with it how it is, if that's it at full growth, as it's quite visible if the wind blows my hair or if I've been wearing a cap for example.

  2. Ok, as I'm in the U.K. And the surgeon is in Turkey, it's quite a journey to get there so I really wouldn't want to go back a third time if I can avoid it.

Presuming I don't get get any more growth, would people say I should beef up the right side of my hair or just concentrate on the middle patch?

And I'm currently using minoxidil only.

  3. I had my first FUE transplant of 3000 grafts in Turkey with a reputable surgeon in October of last year.

However there is a patch in the middle of my scalp that hasn't grown. In the days after the surgery that section went very crusty, so I'm not sure if that was infected or I tried to remove the scabs prematurely, in fact I think the whole right stand looks a little sparse.

Anyway now I'm looking to fill in that area and I'm wondering how many grafts I might need and if you were in my position would you return to the same surgeon?

  4. Not that one result should, by any means, be taken as justification for your choice, but here's an example of a stunning temporal peak restoration by Medikemos (Lupanzula). Admittedly this was done over the course of two surgeries but I don't think I've ever seen such an impressive overhaul of a hairline/temple points.

I thought the texture looked a bit off to me and too coarse looking. Interested to hear others opinions though.

  5. Hi Goonerfan, that does look like a lot of scabbing and very dry, what is the post op care procedure with Demisroy? Do you have to wash it daily or just spray with saline for the first week etc. I had a fair bit of crusting/scabs and some similar lines like a scar which had me concerned that I'd lost grafts, but then I checked with my clinic and they suggested this was down to swelling and the skin expanding and that over time when it's all healed the gaps that look like lines and graftless will go away. Hopefully they are right.

It's been to wash daily with sebamed shampoo (obviously very lightly dabbing on the recipient) and lately to moisturise with aloe vera due to the dryness.

The instructions is to try to remove scabbing from day 10 onwards

  6. Thanks baldbeard, yeah i don't think it's infected either. It's just the dryness that is annoying. Everytime i apply aloe vera, whenever it dries it seems to make it drier. Maybe i should have continued using the saline solution on it.

When it comes to removing scabs and crusts i feel i'm a bit clueless. I'm not sure what constitutes a scab or not. Anyway i'll give it a go tomorrow.

I read your thread, very similar experience to mine. Definitely stay in touch and hope we both get a good result.

  7. Hi, thanks for your reply.

I wasn't too bad with swelling. Next to my ear swelled when i was on the flight home two days after the op, but that soon went down and i took the headband off.

Yes i've been in contact with Muzzafer and i had a yellow patch so he said to apply antiseptic there and mousturise and look to remove the scabs tomorrow (no idea how easy that might be)

No pain or inflammation or anything.

They've been good at getting back to me and advising as i go but i think it's good to get a few other opinions.

How do you feel your procedure went? Are you confident of a good result?

  8. I know i have dry skin at the back of the head (can I safely apply e45 to that?)

And i also have an area that was a little bit yellow at the front so i've been applying antiseptic to that so that explains the slight discolouration)

My question is there appears to be a line like a scar which has appeared. Is that something to be worried about? Might i have lost grafts?

Also what are people's overall thoughts? Does it look ok so far?

  9. Thanks gman, just read through your thread. Very interesting, i'll be keeping an eye on it as you hopefully get a great result over the next few months.

I've been quoted as needing 2800-3000 grafts.

I don't know if the doctor will do my temple points though, Muzzafer has been a bit vague about that, saying they'll only know if i'm suitable for that once they inspect my hair in person.

Do they not provide the moisturising cream? If not, what type did you buy? (Actually i'm only traveling with hand luggage so there might be rules about taking creams or liquids on board anyway)

I'm not considering fin but i will resume minoxodil at a suitable time afterwards (how long did you wait?)

Oh one final question, did you wear a hat or bandana on the journey back to the UK?

  10. I'm just preparing to have a FUE in Turkey in the middle of October.

I'm traveling from the UK so have quite a few hours on the train and plane.

What do people think i should wear on my head? Would a very loose hat be suitable or perhaps just a headband that sort of goes up like a Christmas cracker party hat that doesn't touch the grafts?

Does anyone have any links where i could buy a hat cheaply?

  11. I'm 33 and been considering a hair transplant for a while, but this year i'm determined to go ahead with the procedure.

I've had a few consultations and the doctors have said i'm a good candidate.

I've been using Minoxodil on my crown for about a year, which perhaps has thickened up the hair there.

    Very reluctant/dead against using propecia.

Hair loss is kind of slow and steady I'd say.

Currently seriously considering having FUE in Turkey.

I feel i need to educate myself a bit more before i go ahead and i'd love to get people's opinion on my hair and what sort of result i could expect with an approximate amount of grafts.
