  1. Dear Mr. Alex2015,

I am very pleased with not only your surgical result but also your response to the medical treatment. You are certainly in the upper percentage of respondents! I am very pleased also as the middle scalp has also greatly improved in not only density but also texture. I ask that you contact me as soon as you are able as I would like to discuss your case, preferably in person.

    Thanks Dr. Bhatti.

Like I mentioned earlier, apart from the frontal density on the planted area, I feel good about the result too.

I would certainly like to discuss with you in person, and will contact you upon my travel to Chandigarh though unfortunately it might be some time before that materializes. On a related note, in case you are travelling to / though Delhi and can spare few minutes, pl do let me know. Shall be grateful.

    best

  2. Hi all,

Attaching few pics from 10 months..

like I mentioned in the last post, mixed feelings.. certainly an improvement from where I was & some angles look nice and promising.. but density is not gr8.. especially frontal left side of head.. can see individual hairs that side..

pics inside the room.. no lighting. normal sunlight filtering in the room..

not sure how much growth one can expect from hereon?

    opinions welcome

  3. I agree, more density would have been good. But compared to original pictures there is definitely a progress.

I know that there are 4 more months, where you can see some development. But my question is, in your case, if lack of high density is because of low yield rate or because of low number of grafts on large surface?

    thanks akdjrd.

I would think it is low yield rate as 2200 odd grafts are good enough in my view for the area which I had gotten covered.. I mean there are cases of 2900..3000 grafts in this forum covering a much wider area than mine..

  4. Hi all,

    Posting my 8 month update..

frankly I have mixed feelings.. it is certainly better than before the transplant.. but I was certainly hoping for more density.. 2206 grafts at a rather small area it was.. and after seeing some results on this forum itself.. I was also told during the HT that I have good donor quality ..

still density looks pretty sparse even at 8 months.. i dnt feel any new hairs poking out really.. and last couple of months.. dnt think any major change has happened..

crown is doing well.. been daily taking minox plus finax..

already at 8 months.. dont know how much, if at all, it improves from here..

I have come some way from where I was but I don't think I have reached where I thought I would on this HT journey..

    appreciate your feedback/ guidance.

  5. Yes it is a waiting game, which is little hard but as per my own experience, don't consider final results until 12 months mark, I know mine will improve further as I notice now after 7.5 months, new sprouts feel to my fingers after a close look I notice single root is now producing another hair which were grafted as three hairs in single graft. Till now most of the roots have single hair but if in next few months I get more hair from single root it will be fantastic to see.

    Very nice Ghumanz.

    cheers

  6. Hi all,

Posting couple of pics from 5 and a half months.

If you look closely and in frontal light, can see hairs spaced out on planted area, so does not look very dense. Don't feel many small hairs in planted area either. Hoping it gets better in terms of density over next few months.

Love to hear views - does it get better from hereon or this is largely it?

Still having finax 1 tablet a day + biotin + mintop once in evening daily

    cheers

  7. Dear all,

I have completed 7 weeks post FUE. Have already shed most hairs like maybe 80%.

Noticed last few days very small hairs falling on my office desk (pic attached of one such hair) say 20-40 per day.. have had shedding earlier around 5-6 weeks and those were much longer.

These are like 1-2mm, 60% black rest whitish. Not sure if they are frmo planted area but I guess so as the other hair on my sides and back are much longer.

Is this normal and will not hopefully not impact my end result?

    Advice is appreciated.

    cheers

  8. The grafts look very spaced. It that definitely 2200 grafts? I had a rough count and it doesn't look like it. Excuse my ignorance if i'm wrong.

    Hi

    Thanks for your post.

I do hope it is 2206 - was told the same by the clinic though no way for me to be sure. Can only rely on the doctor's word for this.

Incidentally, I see few long streaks of graftless head today on my recipent area, which is a tad worrying. Not sure why it would be like that or if it is normal.

BTW, what was your approx. count?

    regards

  9. Hello all (especially those who've had an HT in India),

After researching and reading these forums for about 12 months I recently booked in for a HT procedure with Dr. Bhatti in Feb 16.

I'm hoping for some advice on how best to spend 11 days in India post-HT.

I'll be in Chandigarh 1 day before the procedure so I can attend the consultation and get everything squared away.

After the HT my plans are:

    1. Day 1 - ??? Oh dear...11 days to go!
    2. ...
    3. Day 11 - Fly to New Delhi and leave India.

Ideas I've collected from excellent posts by previous DB patients (Jamesaus, sethticles, SHERA, techie, MJ0101 and others):

    • Accomodation: Stay at AB's 17 (decent, clean and cheap).
    • LOCAL Attraction - By myself: Visit the Rock Gardens, Rose Gardens, Sukhna Lake. (I expect this to take 1-2 days total)
    • LOCAL Attraction - Assisted: Go sightseeing with one of the DB drivers/taxis? (I expect this to take 1 day)
    • DISTANT Attraction - By myself: Visit the Golden Temple. (Probably another 1 day?)
    • DISTANT Attraction - Assisted: ????

    ...Any suggestions for good/cheap tours?

...Are there any other local activities/night life/places to go that I should look into or make bookings for?

Because I'll be in India for so long, I'm considering checking into a 'nice' hotel (eg: pool, wifi, room service, good cable TV, etc.) for the first 3-4 days after the HT (particularly when I'm more inclined to stay indoors and take care of the grafts), and then checking into a cheaper hotel for the rest of the stay when I'll mostly be out sightseeing.

    Any comments on this idea?

Is it safe to swim/bathe in a pool after a HT?

I'm not an avid traveler and therefore don't need (or want) to be too busy every single day nor traveling too far. I'm just looking for some interesting/exciting distractions (that will be safe post-HT) to break up the 11 days. :D

    Finally...

After I leave India I'll be catching up with friends for about 2 week and I'm wondering if there's any real chance of 'hiding' the fact I've had an HT? I'm up for 3000-35000 grafts (I'm nearly NW 3 Vertex) and I'm thinking the answer is 'No!' :( (Will make for interesting conversation. :P)

Thanks in advance and thanks to all who've posted/shared experiences on here.

    Buzz.

ps. I did try to find out as much as possible from the Darling Buds website/chat before asking here, but even though I've heard great things about their customer support/treatment, I didn't really feel like I was getting their full attention.

    Hi,

You could spend 2-3 days in Delhi on your return - lots of historically significant monuments here like Red Fort, Humayun Tomb, Akshardham, Lotus Temple etc. Lots of good street food in old Delhi if you are into that kind of thing.

    cheers

  10. What density did the doc do this transplant at ? Also why was crown not touched at all when there is very visible balding existing.

You will have to back to him next year. In my view that could have been handled now as no one wants to go thru it frequently. Lets hope the 6 months of finasteride & Biotion plus minoxidil will add some volume to the crown.

Will be interesting to see hiw the hairline comes out

    Thanks Indi9.

Am not sure about the exact density although I would think 2200+ grafts for this rather small area should be good packing. Personally, I see some of the other threads here, and kinda worry if I would have enough grafts left in my donor area for future transplant, if required. I mean, 2200 are already taken and only cover a smallish area on my front.

Crown - well I kind of agree with you but went with the doc's judgement of maintaining on meds rather than transplant. Perhaps meds can delay the inevitable for a good enough time period

    cheers

  11. Attached pics of day 7. No itch yet - have had some recurring wave like pain through the donor area since day 3 which is still not gone and is an irritant (taking occasional combiflam for this). This pain usual? Can see some clots on donor area in the pics if you look closely.

The recipient area has no pain but still pretty much looks like day 2 or 3, hard to tell a difference. At this rate, unsure if the scabs would fall off in another 5 days (total 12 -14 days), which was my initial understanding. Any thoughts - should it should have been better healed by now?

    regards

  12. 2206 grafts on December 19, 2015 with Dr. Tejinder Bhatti.

Hi everyone. I have suffered from hair loss (runs in my family) for the last many, say 8-10 years, but the condition aggravated in the last 3 years. Have read this forum for the better part of this year before taking the plunge - my first

    FUE transplant.

I would post my pics and review here so as to help anyone facing similar questions that I did for a while.

I belong to India and stay in Delhi, so Dr. Bhatti's clinic is only a 5 hour car drive.

    Procedure

Drove down a day before the procedure for pre-op counselling with Dr. Bhatti (largely hair line drawing, no. of grafts required, the doctor is patient and addressed all my queries, pertinent or otherwise). The next day I had a light breakfast and reported at the clinic at 9.30am (2nd case for the day).

Met Dr. Bhatti and re-discussed the hairline - I discussed my comments on the hair line height higher than my native hairline and roundness/ irregularity of hairline (did not want a very aggressive hairline). Dr. Bhatti was patient and suggested not trying to replicate childhood hairline due to limited donor supply and in general mature hairline being higher. He did agree on making the hairline more natural by having random irregularity. There is a small bunch of hair somwhere in between the crown and the recepient area, which Dr. Bhatti suggested not to transplant (due to shock loss considerations) as he deemed it was only thinning. Likewise, for the crown, doctor suggested medication and not transplant

to maintain it. I trusted his judgement.

Once done, had some pics of hariline clicked by Dr. Bhatti and hair buzzed down. Routine blood tests are run by the team

there. Dr Bhatti administers the anasthesia aided by his assitants, and for graft extraction from donor area (back and sides of head) used a machine, which made sort of a light grinding noise for like 30-45 mins with breaks. From what I could tell, the grafts were then extracted by Dr Bhatti using the punch, and later on collected by his technicians using forceps, who all seemed qualified.

Post the extraction, had a quick lunch arranged by the clinic from Hot Millions.

Dr. Bhatti then made the punches for hair plantation on recepient area - sort of crispy punchy noise you hear for 20 odd mins from the machine. Not painful though, apart from the injections of anaesthesia which are a little painful. The grafts are placed by Dr. Bhatti's team, and the doctor stepped in once to check if I was ok (as is also mentioned in the forms / website). The team looked skilled and went on with their job with light instrumental music in the background. As the next day was off (Sunday), the team, somewhat understandebly, was looking/discussing to finish the transplant asap and did close the job by 4.30pm (around 2hrs 30 mins

for placing the grafts) regularly checking with me if I was ok. Though I do feel that having the doctor check the final hairline and graft placement more often would be better for me personally.

Thereafter, Dr. Bhatti did the dressing and advised me to report in the morning for hair wash and re-dressing, which is done by his team. Followed by a comprehensive post op care briefing/ meds.

    Summary

Like anyone would be, I had questions about this surgery. But, in the end, I'm glad that I did it and optimistic about my future. Fingers crossed!! I was told by Dr. Bhatti that I have good donor area and I think no. of 2/3s hair grafts were good - I've got high hopes for my hair growth. Dr. Bhatti seemed very nice and proficient in his work - he is a busy man though doing 2 cases a day so you got to know what all info / discussion you want with him - he is patient in answering those. I went by his suggestions for the hairline and leaving out the middle part/crown to medication rather than transplant. I had a mostly positive experience with Darling buds - am hopeful and looking forward to my result now.

I'm posting some of my surgery pics here. Thanks for reading and appreciate any observations you may have on my surgery. For anyone wanting to know more about the clinic/ surgery, please feel free to ask questions here or PM me.
