Good hair caliber, small area, longer hair and different lighting.
it looks like a totally life changing result though
hes gone from norwood 5 to what, a norwood 1? you wouldn't even have known the guy lost hair
I can see he is sweeping his hair across from lateral humps, but non the less, id be over moon with that, and only 3000 grafts
-
-
it looks amazing, however, are you sweeping over the hair from the lateral humps to give it illusion of more density?
-
how many grafts is 3500 hairs? and how many grafts do you have left for future?
-
Mic2010, after two procedures and long term consistent use of propecia / minoxidil what makes you suggest i would want/require future surgeries?
Precise number of grafts / grafts remaining i will confirm when documenting my second procedure.
Incase the finasteride loses effectiveness after 10 or so years?
you might get side effects after 5 years and have to come off of it?
always worth keeping some just incase
-
Im have now secured a date and confirmed my smaller second procedure with Dr Reddy, almost 4 years to the day since my first procedure. This smaller procedure will be approx 1500 grafts to slightly close the temple angle and improve frontal density.
I will post some pre and post op pics if anyone is interested in my exciting second journey with Dr Reddy
Harry
So after this surgery, how many grafts will you have left for future surgeries?

Yes i was on Fin to begin with for the first 18months post surgery. I then decided to come off it (for no reason whatsoever) I'm still unsure why i did. I guess i got complacent and my results lead me into a false sense of security that i had 'cured' my hair loss.
I didn't notice any difference until around 6months of being off the fin, i then started to see some thinning in the area behind the transplant. (Scalp slightly visible in daylight etc..)
I am now back on fin 1mg daily and have been for the last 5months, I'm happy to say i have already started to see that area thicken back up and I'm hoping by month 12 onward i should see it 'back to how it was'.
A lesson i learned, if you see good results from Propecia and no sides (like me) then don't stop taking it. The combination of the FUE surgery and the Propecia was and is key and shouldn't be underestimated!
Note the second smaller procedure is not to treat further loss (thats what the fin is for), its to lower my hairline and to close in the temple angle slightly.
Thanks
how many grafts did dr.reddy say you had left?

I thought i would come back to the forum and update my thread from my first procedure which was 3 years ago now! Time really does fly! Im still over the moon with my results and have been in regular contact with Dr Reddy over the last 3 years.
Im now looking to book in for a smaller procedure that will concentrate on my temple angle closure. Something we planned for when we did the initial FUE.
I will post further updates and share my experience once i secured dates with the Dr.
Thanks
you not on finasteride then? have you lost more hair outside of transplant?

Coarse hair is considered optimal for visual coverage and/or attaining the illusion of coverage. It really comes down to above average hair caliber. Some docs refer to it as variances in hair shaft diameter when measuring hair caliber.
Take it as good news!...
yeah i will i always thought the back of my head was thick as when its wet i cant even see or feel my scalp
-
I had my HT consult and the doctor said I have coarse donor hair, possibly 4k grafts in tank, maybe more... I was downbeat, thinking coarse means dry and thin.. but then I started googling and apparently it means good, rather than bad
can anyone confirm/ sorry for such a silly question
-
Apparently he does not take propecia either, so he will look worse as time goes by
to have 3 by the age of 35, is downright irresponsible
-
does propecia help with retrograde?
-
edit : 9000 donor zone, well done you!
do you have a pic of your donor zone?
-
I pmed you, but what is wrong with your donor hair? the sides look thick?
-
norwood 4a. my front has receded at temples but been like that since I was 16. midscalp is thinning but crown is good
i would consider going on meds but there's no point me taking them if a HT is out question really due to propecia potential risks

Some docs will use nape hair when re-building a hairline however when there is retro-alopecia evident, I would hope that they would not use it.
Only a microscopic evaluation of your occipital zone would confirm if that hair was suitable for transplantation, something that cannot be done with photos.
I've had a camera on my donor zone and there was no miniaturisation. I just wondered really if docs actually do use the nape hair as someone on another forum said im not a good candidate due to retro alopecia

anyone know how his hair is coming along?
-
of course it's worth taking it should be the fundamental part of hair loss. it's not a supplement
hair growth hair quality are all additional benrfits that no one knows if you will experience them. the main reason is to slow down or halt the hairloss. you dint have enough donor hair to ever fight hair loss with HT alone
-
you should be taking propecia before your transplant and most definetely after
the main fact it will slow down your hairloss or completely stop it. I'm shocked your asking this question after your HT as any reputable doctor would ask you to take it beforehand
edit : this is your second HT?

How are these results possible?

okay, how is this one possible?
he doesnt look like he has 4k grafts available, and then in the after pictures, his donor zone looks better than before hes had an HT
