  1. The closest two clinics to MI that use Beauty Medical-certified Tricopigmentation (true temporary SMP) are mine (Ahead Ink in New Jersey), or Shapiro Medical in Minnesota. Ive actually had a few clients from MI who would probably be willing to share their experience with you. Nicole is the technician at Shapiro and she is a fantastic option as well.

Can you please tell me the benefit of temporary over permanent? Are temp options priced the same?

  2. I've done some research on this and I'm contemplating on whether I should go with Brandonwoodclinic in Shirley.

You're super lucky that you've got so many options in the UK as opposed to me who lives in Nepal. Flights, cost, hotels... everything's so damn daunting.

  3. Thanks everyone. I received a video clip showing no scar but who are they kidding here? The doc is pretty reputed and recommended (Indian) on this. I'm seriously considering doing it....but I'm still a bit confused about the number of grafts quoted...

Another question I have, what are the chances that a doc will quote 4000 grafts but only implants 3000? Meaning, he just makes it up? Surely, there's no way I can verify if he did indeed implant what he'd told me...

  4. Hi all, I sent my pre-op pictures to 3 different doctors in India (2 Fue, 1 FUT using Trichophytic Closure).

One says I need 2200 grafts. Another says 3000. Third says 4000.

    I'm very confused.

Also, the FUT doctor claims I will have invisible scars (he's the cheapest of the lot). Can I trust him in his claim? All 3 are recommended and reviewed in this forum.

  5. I'm not sure how much Brandwood charges but im sure if you email them they'll give you a quote.

Vinci is a great choice as well. If I were in London I'd go with one of those two places for sure.

PS: Temporary SMP is not my personal preference so I'm not real knowledgeable regarding providers of Tricho Pigmentation in the London area, but there are plenty of other guys on this forum who can steer you in the right direction if that is an avenue you are interested in exploring.

What about HIs hair? I'm not sure if 2 hour drive from London will be feasible as I can only be there for upto 10 days.. (that means 2 days set aside for the procedure alone).

  6. Would you not prefer temp SMP ( tricopigmentation ) ?

Hi. I contacted a clinic in Delhi (closest to me) and they told me that I qualified for HT but not for Temp SMP which was a big wtf because I've already had HT done and I'm not completely bald (Norwood 6/7). Haven't really bothered finding out about it.

What's the advantage of Temp vs Perm? Because from my understanding, cost is the same and temp actually only lasts upto 3 years.

  7. If it were me, I would make the 2 hour drive to Brandwood Clinic in Shirley, West Midlands.

Simon and Paul are 2 of the most skilled and experienced practitioners you will find and I don't think you will find anyone better than them. Not sure what their pricing is though but I'd imagine they are reasonably priced.

I would also check out Vinci Hair Clinic in London.

I believe those are your two best options but do some research on all providers in or near London (HIS Hair, Skalp, etc.) b/c that region is saturated with providers.

As far as 3 sessions in 2 weeks, that may be a bit of a stretch. I'd say realistically your timeline for completion would be somewhere in the one to two month range.

Hey thanks for your reply. How much do they charge? I've emailed Vinci Hair Clinic.

  8. Hello all.

I'm in a spot of bother and sort of desperate after an unsuccessful FUE experience in Istanbul.

The reason why I'm bothered is due to cultural expectations and my marital status (still unmarried and I'm 31).

Little bit of background. I'm South Asian (currently in S. Asia) by origin, and went to Istanbul to get HT in May 2015. Over 17 months on, my HT did little/nothing.

Instead of undergoing another HT (I can't afford to shell out 5-10k for HT from a reputed doc), I've decided on getting SMP.

bWhile I'm aware of Caboki (and have used it too) and other concealers, I don't wish to sport a bald look during my wedding day. Things are a tad complicated as I'm undergoing an arranged marriage meaning I won't be able to use a concealer on my wedding day and then afford to wash it later at night. That also rules out the option of hair piece (I'm wearing one right now).

I don't have any plans to visit the US anytime soon. Hence, I can't visit a clinic in NYC or LA.

    My questions are.

    1. What sort of certification should I be looking at off prospective clinic? Is there a standard certificate? The reason why ask is I was quoted about 800 dollars by an Indian clinic (India's my closest option) but I don't wish to visit another run of the mill clinic and waste my money.

    2. Can you sport a full hair? I have diffused hairloss, especially around the crown area. I'd much rather sport a lengthy hair instead of "shaved" look. Thing is, in my culture, "shaved" look = bald head. So SMP in itself will be deemed a failure.

    3. What are reputable clinics in Asia? The farthest I can visit is Bangkok or a clinic in Thailand. I looked up SMP clinics in India and while Dr. Kapil Dua's clinic seems to offer SMP, it is a temporary one.

I'm a guy under a severe stress and I feel extremely insecure due to hairloss despite me having a round face (I've been told that shaved look/buzz cut look does suit me).

Please help me regain my confidence back.

  9. Hello,

I'm a South Asian man that got a HT (3900 grafts as per them) abt 8.5 months ago. I needed/wanted HT for balding scalp. 8.5 months on and my results have been very disappointing. I'm probably being impatient but this was yet another run-of-the-mill clinic in Turkey.

I'm really confused about what I should do next. Shaving my head isn't an option as bald headed guys aren't well received in my culture.

I do use Caboki at times and while it does wonders for functions and what not, it's not a permanent solution.

I've thought about SMP or hair system (wig?) but SMP doesn't seem to be easily available in South Asia. Hair system seems extremely pricey. A clinic nearby quoted 300 dollars and it's supposed to last 6-8 weeks.

I don't really know what I seek via this thread. I suppose, a bit of support or encouraging words.

I'm really frustrated and disappointed with my decision of going to Istanbul. I'm well aware of other reputed docs but I couldn't afford to drop 10-20k for HT.

  10. Folks,

I had a transplant in 3rd week of June and I'm really concerned and confused.

I haven't really seen a ton of shock loss. I've seen some loss, though.

My concern pertains to my current appearance. At the moment, my crown region looks pretty much the same pre-op. Is that completely natural/normal?

If yes, then when should I start seeing improvements?

  11. I'm 21 days post-op myself. Haven't seen a whole lot of shedding either. There are some pieces sized as big as eye brows when i feel my scalp area...

Btw, can i scratch my head when i get an itch? Also, my doc advised me to stop taking minodix until another week as i might damage my grafts? is that plausible?
