Your result turned out well. Looks even better at 17 months. Congratulations.

I also went to Dr. Diep and I am almost at 8 months but unfortunately, I look like you at 4 months. Still a nice improvement from where I started but I was hoping for more density. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Thanks I took a look at your thread and hopefully not only do you get more growth but it also thickens up for you. At 6 months you could possibly still see 50% more growth.

Hey man do you have any post op pics from your failed surgery? And did diep mention anything about scar tissue in your recipient?

Yes. Here is a picture of my results 1 Year after my failed surgery. I had very little growth and a lot of what appeared to be holes/pitting in my scalp because the grafts were placed too deep. This is actually the results after two (2) failed surgeries by the same doctor. My third and final procedure was with Dr. Diep.

Hey amazing results. How many more sprouts did u notice coming out after 5 months?

I kept seeing growth until about 8 months and after it started to thicken up. I’m at 17 months post op and I feel like it got alttle thicker in the last couple months. I no longer feel like I need another procedure. Unless of course I’m under really harsh bright LED light but that’s not very often.

  4. Yes Dr. Diep does knock you out with the cocktail of pills you take before surgery.  No that is not typical of most clinics but thank god he does! My first procedure with another doctor I was wide awake and it was very painful, uncomfortable, and felt like I was there forever.

For FUT, once you’re knocked out he cuts out the strip and hands it off to techs for dissection. He then stitches you up and makes the sites for the techs to place the grafts in. That’s about all he really has to do for FUT... He was probably in the next room working on his FUE patient. He only does one FUE max per day and one FUT. The FUT patient doesn’t need his undivided attention like the FUE patient does.

  5. Ur hairloss wasn’t that bad to begin with..

So knowing what u know now n what u been through n the money u spent . Would u of went the hair transplant route again ? I’m in the same

Position as u .. I’m still debating if I should do this ,. I’m booked for 2000 grafts with dr diep later this year for $16000k to the hairline like u .. do u think it be worth it for me ? I appreciate ur feedback ..

I needed to repair the mess I had from two previous failed surgeries.

If my first two surgeries would have looked like this one then I would have been very happy.

I think you will be happy with the results but you might end up wanting another transplant later on (most people want more density). I do think I look better than before.

If you can accept your hairline then that’s the cheapest and best option. otherwise prepare to be invested for the long haul. Diep is great but maybe there are other doctors just as good and not as expensive? Maybe not.

  6. 8 months post op from repair surgery with Dr. Diep.

Maybe I’ll have some more growth in the next 4 months.

I read somewhere that you can still expect 20-25% more growth at this mark, not sure if that applies to fast growers?

I am pleased with the results from Dr. Diep yet I still think about having FUE to add density to my hair line and into my fut scar. Might go with Dr. Nader in Mexico.

    Opinions?

  7. I definitely look much better than where I started and I only hope to get more growth. IF there is isnt more growth to come then there are areas that were either not densely packed enough or did not grow. Hopefully things will get better but if they didn’t I might get FUE to do a touch up and so that I can fill in my scar and add density. I’d probably try a different FUE pro unless Diep gave me another good deal. In some lighting it looks very good. Overall Dr. Diep and his team did a nice job!

  8. I believe he said I was a 3 too but I’m not too sure .

Here are some pics with very bright and regular lighting. Hoping to get more density months 6-12!!!

I cut my hair to a 3 guard recently and you can slightly see a bit of the scar on the right side of my head, only about an inch of it so not too bad. much better than my previous scar from my prior doctor. There is also hair stubble along some areas of the scar but that hair won’t seem to grow and get longer... hope it will eventually grow and conceal the scar more. The missing hair along the scar makes it slightly look like I have a hat line, impossible to

    notice in a picture.

I haven’t worn a hat for 2 months which is crazy because I wore them everyday for years. I think it looks way better then what I started with.

Not happy with density yet but depending on the lighting I’m in, sometimes my hair looks good. At this point density is my only concern.

  9. CONS-

No major changes yet. Hoping to see a growth spurt soon. Hair still lacks density. I do see some hairs sprouting but not too many. Here are pictures of my hair in regular and really bright light.

    PROS-

Even tho it’s not very dense yet im not wearing hats anymore. It’s current state is better from where I started. the scar has continued to heal well so I’m cutting my hair with a 3/4 guard. I can see hair beginning to grow through the scar too so hopefully I can cut it shorter soon.

  10. Hello, Today I'm at 4 months post op since my repair FUT surgery with Dr. Diep.

    PROS:

I've posted a picture of my old scar which would not allow me to use a clipper on my hair because it was too wide... With my new scar from Dr. Diep I am now able to cut my hair down to a size 3/4! Very happy about that, I can also feel small stubble of hair growing through the scar so I hope in several months I may even be able to go shorter.

    CONS:

I don't see any NEW growth... So unfortunately I obsess and stress about my hair daily. The hairs that sprouted early have kept growing which is great, but I just haven't seen any new sprouts. I know they don't all grow in at once but I can't help to think that this is it. I've heard people say that once it started to grow it just wouldn't stop but I don't think I feel the same way.
