  1. i thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated, i am considering same buit i am extremely nervous... "but i guess that goes with the decision making process"

Yeah. It's a life changing decision. I will tell you that I am so glad I did it. I go out in public with full confidence and I couldn't be happier! Just remember that it's an investment towards your well being and happiness. That in itself is priceless. Good luck.

  2. Was going through your other thread where you mentioned that the Doc said way over 3000 grafts

"To my surprise, Dr. Diep had to come in serveral times because the nurses had started they had hair follicals left and all the holes were taken up. At the end, Dr. Diep stated that he did well over 3000 follicals for me, of which I was sooo excited to hear! He was able to do the front and the rest on my dome. So overall my experience at the office was please. Dr Diep was great, and the nurses were great!"

Plus the ACell shot... I guess that could be the differentiator here in making the result what it is... Simply Mind blowing. Otherwise its hard to believe how Dr Diep could achieve this outcome with just 2500-3000 grafts. And do you know the liquid Dr. Diep uses to hold the grafts...is it saline or the ATP (Liposomol ATP) liquid to hold the grafts while they are sitting out and for spraying on for the first few days after the HT Op. Will be great to know if this was the case.

So it has to be 3000+ grafts and the A Cell shot (Plus the ATP if it was used). Did he provide any specific medications to promote hair growth other than Rogaine and Propecia ? Any supplements or shampoos ?

All said and the result is fantabulous! Happy for you!

Good catch. It's been over a year and I didn't go thru my thread when I wrote my follow up. I'm just happy and I just wanted to show my results. My apologies if I misrepresented anything. Definitely not my intention. With that being said I do not know what liquid he used. He only said rogain and Propecia. They give the best chances of keeping ALL the hair left on your head.

    Thank you again!

  3. I am thinking about getting this doctor. Im curious because if I could ever get the same hair as you, did Dr. Diep say you can bleach it? :D That would be like the best feeling. It would be like being bald and then turning super sayon! Geling the hair into blond spikes.

You are a funny dude. If u have any questions do not hesistate to reach out.

  4. Heard some comments here from a patient of his who posts often that he is difficult to get a hold of after the surgery for follow up questions, etc.

Like I said in his thread I'd rather get a 10 result and 4 "follow up availability" than a 8 result and 8 "follow up availability".

That said there is a big psychological impact on this surgery as seen by many comments in many threads here as many people get into panic over any small issue post surgery ("I sneezed too hard on day 2 - am I doomed to lose 10% of my grafts??" haha) so I can see why prompt responses to any query are a big consideration to some.

Agh gotcha. To be honest since I was local I was able to come see him during his times that he was available so I didn't have too much of that issue. I may have had to see him about a few issues. One being my shock loss and the other was just a concern over swelling. Both times he made himself available. He is typically booked out 6-8 months so I can certainly see his lack of availability but I think his nurses and staff do a good job at answering some questions. With that being said I am extremely happy with my 1 year results. I am hoping my 18 month results are better as I was told that it could take up to 18 months to fully see the full potential. Good luck!

  5. Must say this is an outstanding result...extremely natural looking hairline, densely packed, no wiryness or tangled outcome as some FUT surgeons claim for FUE.

I am turning into a big fan of Dr. Diep. Cherry on the cake...done with just 2500 grafts??? OMG...that saved u some money as well and I think he got the perfect tuning/mix for the Acell shots. Like some one said...this one is a Home Run...Out of the park it goes.

    Happy for you mate!

Thank you! Again as I said I am truly blessed.

  6. I can't believe you got that sort of square footage covered with 500 grafts in the crown, when so many say its the black hole of grafts and sometimes 1000 doesnt even seem to cover a similar area half as well.

    Count youself among the blessed.

I've only seen 4-5 Diep cases here but each one seems to be a home run. I guess his main issue is "bedside manner" but guy gets amazing results with some really pronounced stages of Norwood - I usually see NW4/5 with him and he shaves off 10 years quickly off their look.

What do u mean by bed side manner? I am truly blessed.

  7. hey m0dthispny,

just read through your thread regarding your journey and i'm extremely excite to have read it. i have a consultation scheduled with Dr. Diep in a couple of weeks and i was really nervous even about the consultation. especially after reading some negative comments about Dr. Diep. But your thread definitely helped a lot and now i'm looking forward to the consultation.

i just joined the forum yesterday so can't send PM yet, but if you're open for me to contact you directly please let me know. appreciate it!

No worries my friend. dr Diep is one of the best in FUE here in the states. Ckat238@gmail.com. Contact me directly if I can help with anything.

  8. I did a bit of research and came across Dr. Diep's name. From there I stumbled across this post, which prompted me to create an account literally just now. I think that I am finally ready to pull the trigger and have a procedure done. I have been procrastinating for years and this thread finally gave me a HUGE push, thank you SO much for sharing your story, as well as pictures and details of the procedure!

I know that each case is different, but around how much did you pay for this to be done? I need to know what I am about to walk into so I can plan accordingly..

    Thank you!!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I think his price per follical is 7 dollars or so. Multiply that by 2500 plus 500 for the ACell shot.

  9. Super results. Mind blowing. You were an inspiration in my journey with Dr. Diep. But my crown has not filled in as well as yours at 7 months.

I am glad I can be of any help to you and your journey. We are a band of brothers in this battle of hair loss. I am glad I can help with any of your concerns my brother.

  10. Great result and you actually look a lot like HTsoon in the hair at least :) Ironic both went to same doctor. Congrats and nice style of hair by the way.

How did you split the grafts between crown and front? For 2500 with that sort of crown thinning you really got a home run result.

Thank you! I think he did 2000 in he front and 500 in the back.

  11. Hello All,

I cant believe I made it to the 1 year mark and could not be happier with my results. I have posted my journey here on the forums so please refer back to my older posts to follow along. I have been absent for the past 6 months because I wanted to just let my hair grow and allow everyone to see the difference. With that being said here is my backstory:

I have been slowly loosing my hair starting in my early 20's. My hair dresser started to notice my heair was thinning but I thought nothing of it until several years later. HInd sight beeing 20/20, I would have started rogain when I was forst told but my subborn ness led me to where I am today. I am a norwood 5. At 37, I finally am able to afford this hair transplant via FUE method. I have performed a ton of research and I settle don Dr. John Diep. Meeting with him was great. He didn't rush me, he didn't try to sell me the most expensive procedure, nor did he try to push anything I didn't need. With that being said, I had my procedure done by Dr. Diep in his Los Gatos facility 29Jan15.

You can see my intial post here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178272-my-procedure-dr-diep-fue-2500-grafts.html

Currently I am on Rogain and Propecia. Many asked me if I had any side effects of Propecia. I will say at first yes. But Dr. Diep stated that you have to give it three months to let your body get adjusted to the medication and your sex drive will be back to normal. He was right. I was back to normal after 2 months of use. With that being said, here are my pre-op pictures and my 1 year anniversary pictures. I have been contacted by many forum members asking questions about the surgery and Dr. Diep. I will say that this is the one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has made my quality of life so much better. I walk with confidence! It has shaved 10 years off of my life. Absolute life changer! Its well worth the money!

  12. Hey guys,

So met with Dr. Diep today.

He seemed pretty confident. Showed me a bunch of cases. We went over all the usual stuff. I also asked him which parts of the surgery he was specifically involved in - everything except the actual placement of the grafts. Overall, I was happy with the consultation, and he definitely seemed to be the most knowledgeable and reliable surgeon I have met so far.

He is booked all the way till November though. Prices seem reasonable, not too far from what others have posted and what I found on the internet.

I have scheduled an appointment with Dr. Gabel on July 22nd.

I think, its going to be either Dr. Gabel or Dr. Diep for me. Going from all the reviews I have found so far, I am now slightly inclined towards Dr. Gabel, but I can only say for sure after talking to him.

Once again, I would definitely appreciate any advice from you guys. I am looking to make a decision by the end of this month!

    Thanks!

I had my HT done with Dr Diep and I have been very happy with my results. With that being said when I first booked my spot with dr Diep I was about a 6 month wait also. What I did was book with him but let Tina know that if there were any cancelations give you a call. If you are flexible you may get in here as soon as a month. With that being said you WANT to have a surgeon with that type of waiting list. If he can take you right away, you may want to stay away. good luck

  13. Hello Everyone,

I am over 4 months Post Op FUE HT and I feel my progress is going pretty well. I only have a concern. In the morning especially and sometimes in the evening when I take a shower during shampooing I notice about 4-5 hairs shedding. Its a bit concerning as I am on Propecia and Rogain and doing everything the Dr has requested from me. It looks like longer and shorter hairs are shedding. Is this normal?

    Advice would be greatly appreciated.
