  1. I just had a 2000 grafts (FUE) transplanted by Dr PJ Mazumdar at Downtown Hospital, Guwahati at a discounted rates of less than Rs 50/graft. I am quite satisfied with it for now. He even fixed my former weird hairtransplant by Dr Manoj Khanna (my former HT transplant was done in a line pattern like that of a Barbie doll and he fixed and even it out by puting hair in between them so much that the lines are no longer visible) we had done the transplant in 3 session as he explained to me that the chances of survival for the extracted follicles will be much higher if they are inserted again on my head as soon as possible, therefore he divided it into 3 session. Anyway the result will speak for itself. I'll post my result after 6 months. I highly recommend him. Feel free to check out his site (i.e. Dr. P. J. Mazumdar, Downtown Hair Transplant Clinic in Guwahati, Assam and NorthEast)

  2. Dear Portalhair,

Your HT seem to be much better than mine, I don't see any unnatural line pattern transplant and looks much thicker (Yeah.. So practices does improve skills after all..haha). Significant visible hair growth result could be seen only after 3 months for most people. BTW i assume you opt for FUT. Do you take any additional medication. Hopefully you'll have a thick full headed hair in no time. Wishing you all the best.

PS - Please upload a higher resolution photos in the future its really hard to assess the picture (if its convenient)

  3. I'm glad you're satisfied with Dr. Khanna (may be he get better who knows), I feel like I needed to straighten out my remarks on him, first of all I never say that he was unfriendly, rather he is friendly, polite, eloquent and quite convincing, in short, he's a marketing genius. But my experience with him regarding hair transplant was very disappointing and way below expectation, to be honest, extremely regretful.

A few years ago, he implanted 1500 graft FUT (which was doubtful as it's very thin) on my receding hairline. He implanted the graft in a regular line pattern, like that of a barbie doll, which looks unnatural and extremely fake. I could only comb my hair in such a way that it look ridiculous and I dare not parted my hair sideways ever, I've been ridicule so many times. To be honest, if I could see the end result before hand I would have never opt for HT.

I truly don't know if he get better or not, may be he does. Anyway, concerning his skills, your HT result will speak for itself and I think its too soon to recommend or condemn or judge his skill at the moment. But one thing I can say with certainty is that he does charge higher than most HT surgeon in India.

Note: Please share your update pic ....3, 4 & 6 months post ops pics, etc.

  4. So.... It seems like nobody in this forum had a positive experience with any hair transplant surgeon in Kolkata. Sad...so sad... (Coz I'd already purchased my flight ticket for 11th February a couple of days ago) After reading all these negs.. Its really perplexing. Anyway after surfing the net for several days I've come down to these doctors viz. Dr. Arindam Sarkar (link removed by moderator) Dr. Srinjoy Saha, Dr. Souvik Adhikari and Dr. Maneesh Sonthalia. Can anyone share their experience with these doctors or suggest another reliable doctor in Kolkata?. Please keep it blunt, honest and authentic.
