  1. On my second HT i knew the best method for me.

Buzz the hair down months before and people will be accustomed to you with short hair.

Day or two before i did grade 2 on top and grade 1 on donor area to which they left it as it was workable, no shaving from them.

Get a Cap adjustable and ensure clothing gos over head as in caught a graft n lost it.

After 12 days the scabs had gone and i used Dermatcn to just help a little.

I never grew my hair out n like it short with a little Dermatch still.

  2. Turkey is good and what would you define as mainstream. Uk is dire as ive had HT in UK and Turkey and would not go in UK it was backwards.

Turkey is having an issue but i would still go you can be killed anywhere in Uk my wife works within mental institutions and enough risk on the streets thanks to Goverment cuts.

You also need better pictures as from the dire quality pic you seem very thin on hair shaft n donor, maybe i am wrong.

Have an open mind and do alot of research as its a major under going if you get it wrong.

  3. I had a HT in April 2014 with Dr Hakan and i am happy with my results let me say firstly.

The technicians did 95% of the extractions and i would say 75% implants on the scalp with the Dr only doing the hair line and some scalp. He did disappear as others have mentioned and intermittently returned to check on progress to which i knew he had a new chair in the next room within the hospital to do 2 or possibly more surgeries in the day.

From my experince i could not say if he left the hospital or not but can only confirm that techs do indeed the vast amount of the HT.

  4. Hi Johnny2000

Hope it works out for you this time fingers crossed. Given recent posts i count myself really lucky. How did it compare to your first HT with Dr Hakan ?

The yellow looks like saline build up to me and should fade within several days.

In the donor area if you keep it short you could try Dermatch to blend in as i do on my right temple as Dr Hakan didnt place enough grafts or regrowth was not above 80%.

    Wish you well

  5. Hi Johnny2000

I am sorry to see your results as we went through this together a few weeks apart. I am happy will my HT and have no issues. It is so different from my experience and can clearly understand why you are not happy. You have shaved hair to which i still do however its not the best method for pre op to carry a HT. I had shaved hair years post op and think it will not look good grown out as i hit the stage to me when it looked crap growing it out.

I wish you well hope get the results you wish for.

  6. I had motorised extraction by Dr Hakan in April for 2400 grafts in one day. I was told i would need 4000 but in the initial meeting with the Dr he said 2400 would be enough.

The Techs removed the grafts a bunch of them two at a time cycling for rests, then the Dr came and did some on the scalp then he did the hair line consulting a senior tech i assume.

Swelling as minimal and was gone 24hrs post surgery.

Tips. Travel pillow is a must, secondly make sure your clothing can go over your head easy with room to spare as i pulled a graft out whilst putting a polo shirt on. Take loads of movies and books as its very boring post surgery. I would buy a peak cap with adjustable clip as they give you a terrible hat to which you will stand out travelling home, theirs pulled a graft out so i went out and bought one for ?2 locally.

Im very happy with my current progress as its a nightmare time afterwards waiting for the growth and to easy to stress out.

Good luck and you are in safe hands given my experience.

  7. Minoxidil and propecia are the two main players in hair loss. Both can have side affects but most people are ok on them, however i would start them separately to assume whats doing what.Personally i would avoid a HT at your age and given aggressive hair loss as you seem to have poor donor area given the required coverage. Dont go with one assessment and do plenty of research to avoid a poor chioce for life.Me i do Dutasteride EOD and this thicken up my hair, but the temples just kept thining out so i had a HT with Dr Hakan in Turkey to which im very happy with as previous HT in Uk was a waste of time donor and money.

  8. Ive never shed on using Fin and Dut. Dut was more effective for me but my hair line was getting dire so i did a ht and had hair line n scalp done and will drop to Fin as im unsure of Dut long term.

Many people shout about sides but i think many are just an assumption as i lost my father as i started Dut and thought i had brain fog, however on reflection think it was stress related and it was so easy to assume the wrong conclusion.

Some people will hate drugs and expect issues and some like me dont, but that said all drugs are actually a side effect and that must be considered

  9. Toubey

I think you need to do a lot of home work about hair loss as you show to be void of any knowledge on this subject. Scalp muscle exercise is useless period.

The only approved method of combating hair loss is Propecia and Minoxidil. There are other things but i will not mention them as you need to do the research and make you own well informed decision.

The surgery will look dire and look very dolls head, so i would consider some cover up to lessen the effect like toppik or dermatch.

  10. I think you should reconsider finasteride as Dr Hakan does advise to use it as does alot of HT surgeons. Most horror stories are BS as often on hair loss sites people claim results in a few week, unfortunately people claim all sorts of crap. The drug is FDA approved in combating hair loss so i would try it in low dose and build up.

Regarding HT i think 30s are the minimal age to be under going a HT and if you are not going to use Fin to combat DHT then wait longer as a HT will look dire.

  11. The best way to get around this is some weeks prior to HT is shave you hair down to 1 or 2 # and people will become accustomed to your look. Just prior to the HT shave donor 0# and blend into scalp 1#. Dr Hakan didnt shave my 1# scalp so it looked okish and the donor will blend in other than having a harsh shaved patch.

  12. Hi Johnny

You spotted this a mile away well done. I cant see why they would do this as my surgery is excellent barring a little area in the donor area is patchy as i shave hair 1#, but it would be ok longer.

This is not acceptable and hopefully is not under handed as i was happy with everything n felt happy overall.

Credit to this site and i to await the outcome.

  13. Hi guys i too had a 2400 graft by Dr Hakan and i can only speak for myself but i had some grafts that did not scab at all so im unsure you can count or guess on grafts in all cases. Now post op my coverage looks good as i too thought not much grafts due to scab count. The transplanted hair is growing slow n finer than other hair, however i await the shedding.

Hopefully some real Veterans will comment on this as i do feel sorry for you if it does not meet your expectations.

  14. At day eleven i trimmed my hair 1# all over and the scabs have got and its not red so i can go out with my new hair n looking good until the dreaded shed. I would say 2 weeks post op should be a safe bet youre going to look ok if you have a very short hair cut prior to op which i have. I buzzed my top to 1# n Dr Hakan didnt feel the need to buzz it down any more so this would give 6-7 days growth on a 0# buzz on scalp. The donor was buzzed to 0# but this looked ok at day 2 only red.

On reflection i would buzz the rear or know donor area to 0# n blend into 1# onto scalp myself as they just do it and it looks very harsh no blending in.

If youre travelling ie flying get a justable peak cap, i also had a hoodie i pulled over the cap to cover rear n put headphones in to avoid other travellers.

  15. Im 10 days post op n very happy with the post op results. If i could pick a fault the donor area on right is great very even but on left a little patchy as i shave my hair currently with a view to have an hair style to which would not matter once hair grown in.

The pain has been very little at best like sun burn in donor area. The work looks amazing as it blends in to direction and not to thick which to my mind will look natural long term. The Ht hairs are fine but look so clean i am really happy n await the shed n ugly duckling stage. Ive done everything by the book but worked the scabs off shampoo n scalp massage as post op day 8-10 they are in and the hair shaft is available to shed.
