  1. Ersko - great write up and great results. Really encouraging. I am booked with Erdogan for 4,500 grafts on July 1st. I am dreading one thing only, how to conceal the redness post surgery despite planning to stay in Istanbul for 2 weeks post surgery. My question to you brother - how long post surgery do I need to wait before I can wear my hat (actually I have 20+ hats which I have accumulated over the years to hide my head) Does wearing a hat damage the new grafts?

Keeping tabs on you and looking forward to your progress.

  2. Relax guys.

David-L actually Iran is a top hair transplant destination in the Arabian Gulf despite what some might think on this forum. Obviously the immediate and natural reaction would be like the aforementioned comments 'STAY AWAY' were in reality thousand viait Iran purely for a hair transplant procedure.

A good friend of mine went to Shiraz, Iran - 5000 gratfs FUE and paid $2.6k all in including medication. A year later his results were average and actually at par with many of the photos I see on thsi forum of patients who had surgeries in Istanbul Sweden US etc.

I will double check and share the info with you.

  3. Wow very nice indeed my friend. I have met Dr. Koray in person for consultation and I must admit his method of articulating have me the comfort ai was seeking for. A quick question, why did you opt for the clinic as oppose to the Radisson Blue for accommodation?

I am scheduled for June and your monthly uodates will keep on motivating me given that I am also turning 32 this year and have a similar hairline as yours.

All the best and happy growing!:D

  4. Dear members,

First and foremost I have to thank all the members and moderators of this website. I want to give back to this community as much as possible merely to reciprocate and be fair to my fellow brothers. I arrived in Istanbul yesterday for a live consultation with the one and only Dr. Koray Erdogan. ASMED is the cleanest clinic I have visited in my life therefore I concur with everyone who has stated that ASMED is a top notch facility.

I am 31 yrs old, Arab, male boldness does not run in my family but my hairloss began 3 yrs back due to a strefull and extremely difficult separation with my fianc?. Nonetheless, I moved on and am not lingering in the past. I am a norwood 2a and the Doctor suggested that this is deteriorating with the possibility of being 3a in the future.

Now to the good stuff. These are the observations made by the doctor after an hour of assessment and discussions:

    1. Total donor capacity - 8550

    2. Caliber of hair - 65 microns

    3. Temporal density - 50-60 uf/cm2

    4. Periatel density - 80 uf/cm2

    5. Occipital density - 80 uf/cm2

    6. Calculated density- 2,80 hair/foticiles unit

    7. Hair loss area - 110 cm2

Operation was scheduled for February 2015 but Dr. Erdogan has articulated that it would be better if I use Finasterid Propecia 1mg for 6 months and come back for a 2nd consultation given that this may save my existing hair hence he will have a more accurate estimation for the surgery.

I have no clue what the aforementioned numbers mean but he conveyed that these numbers depict a positive picture for surgery.

I will keep this thread alive to post my progression or regression. Pictures will be sent by the clinic soon and I will post it in order for my fellow members to view.

  5. Thanks to all the members on this forum for providing meticulous details of their hair transplant experiences. I will be posting many pics once I go through with the FUE.

As the title mentions, the aforementioned are the 3 candidates I have short listed for my transplant. Instead of sending pictures via email which is one option I decided to fly to Turkey for live consultation.

Dr. Hakkan and Dr. Erdogan were humble to provide with a date and time. On the contrary, Dr. Demirsoy's clinic refused to provide a live consultation unless they view my pics. Is this the level of professional which I have to deal with? I honestly got shocked by the attitude of his representative who instead of finding ways of facilitating a meeting, is giving me bs as to why pics have to come first.

Nonetheless, I believe these are the views of the individual and not Dr. Demirsory and I am sure a reputable Dr such as him will not mind meeting in person wthout having looked at my pics first.

I will keep all posted. 31 yrs male, arab, 4500-5000 grafts needed.
