  1. Wow I feel your pain. Its unconscionable what some people (Drs) will do for money. Thats why this forum is so valuable. A Dr or clinic can give you a line of BS but thousands of former patients in a mostly unbiased environment like we have on the HTN will tell you like it is. There are so many blogs and images on here you should have a pretty good idea as to what todays transplant surgeons are producing. I have seen some phenomonal results with very undetectable hairlines. I have also spoken to numerous satisfied patients. I am a mere 4 months out and the difference it has made in my looks and confidence in appearance are worth every cent I spent if I never grow another hair!! You are clearly describing the plug technique of days gone by. I don't think many Drs can still make a living that way as word travels fast and you can't show any legitimate before and after pics.

Follicular Unit Grafting will provide you the outcome you had hoped for and possibly without the need to remove all of the plugs. I feel pretty certain that the results of any kind of "reversal" will be far more noticable and undesirable than a well done revision by a competent surgeon using FUG technique. I urge you to consider your options before you spend more money and regret the outcome. Your scar from the donor site and likely the plugs will always be apparent. Continue to reach out to the members on this Forum. They have no reason to tell you anything more than their honest opinions as well as their experiences as most have had procedures. I suspect the high majority would tell you that their only regret is not doing it sooner.

Its a new age my friend and I feel badly that you were done wrong previously but don't let the anger and bitterness cloud your perspective about what is possible now with the advances in the techniques.

If you want to post some pictures we can give you additional input. I am certain there are guys that were in your situation that can share their experience with revising old pluggy procedures.

    Good luck.

  2. I'm no expert but I have looked at hundreds of patient photos and I gotta agree with the others this is not all that bad. If you are really self concious you might experiment with some toppik or Dermatch to help beef it up a bit, but really I think it looks decent and suspect you like all of us are overly critical of yourself.

  3. yeah and I like unicorns and long walks in the park......

Dude save the shameless solicitations for another site. We are dedicated to legitimate experiences from bonafide patients who aren't on the take from their Dr buddies. I already had a posting to my personal page from another "satisfied customer" of Dr Kahans.

As Thanatopsis already stated, your "tremendous growth" at 3 months would be unprecedented. And your statement on your pictureless profile about your hair transplant working to a "T" is laughable considering you would not have even begun to see the outcome yet.

If you were so proud of Dr Ks work you would have posted the pics. Save your acting for the "major studio" you supposedly work at and stop trying to sell Dr Kahan on this forum.

  4. Theres something called tact that is sadly lacking here, thats the point that most readers/responders are getting at. The majority of the members of this community are looking for legitimate feedback and research. However when it comes veiled in caustic rhetoric including some aimed at the individuals who are dedicating considerable time to keep this web forum active, it undermines the message considerably. The notion that half the posters on this board have agendas or are somehow on a payroll is absurd. I have found this forum immensely helpful both prior to and after my own hair transplant. I have also corresponded with numerous members on this site including ones that had procedures with my own surgeon which was invaluable. I did not sense the least bit of bias or agenda in any of this interaction and will continue to become better informed on the state of the industry/science as well as post op protocol and experience through the HTN. If you don't find value here then don't bother.

  5. Its worth noting also that Bosley recently purchased MHR but apparently are operating them under the original name.

I also had a consult at the Chicago Bosley clinic and found it to be a transplant mill set on making money not the best hairlines.

  6. I have the same question. I am going to Costa Rica in a few months (4 months post op) and would hate to have to keep my head covered all the time. Also I would love to blend the scalp color and possibly camaflouge the thinning a bit with some sun on my dome.

Anyone with post op tanning experience please chime in.

  7. I know its premature to be asking as I'm only a month out. My scar seems to be healing quite nicely and I am wondering how short I might be able to get away with. I would love to hear from you in regards to how short you were able to cut the back with a reasonable concealment of the donor scar. If you have pics and coordinating guard #s for a reference that woudl be a bonus.
