  1. I think Dr Kongkiat Laorwong of Absolute Hair Clinic definitely deserves recognition on this forum for his consistent technical excellence, and the positive feedback from his patients. In fact, I feel this recognition is long overdue.

As you correctly mentioned in your original post Dr Laorwong performs grafts at a high density.

I posted about this same thing back on 22 May when I found, after the scabs had come off, that the hair in the recipient area was absolutely indistinguishable from my natural hair, even though my hair was only 1/8in (3mm) long all over at the time, due to the density and natural placement of the grafts in the recipient area matching that of my natural hair. A thumbnail was attached.

I am now 7 weeks post-op and those grafts have now moulted and started regrowing. But since Dr Laorwong told me at our initial consultation that his graft survival rate is over 95% I am confident the regrowth will ultimately result in completely natural-looking hair that is undetectable as a hair transplant.

    Hello IanfromOz,

Would you choose Dr. Laorwong over Dr. Path for large FUT?

  2. Hi friends! I'm sorry to have gone AWOL, has been busy enjoying life with a full head of hair. A picture says more than a thousand words, so here's my update as of 1st June 2017 (59 weeks and 5 days post-op).

I'm using Finasteride (5mg cut into 4 pieces) once daily and Rogaine twice daily to maintain existing hairs.

im sure I speak for many here, we are all happy for your progress!

I am considering Dr. Path as well for FUT.

Question, is your hair diameter very thick and is your hair density abundant too?

  3. Hello all,

I really hope i can qualify for FUE.

    May i ask:

    1. what is the minimal hair shaft density?

    2. what is the minimal follicles per / cm squared?

    3. can under chin facial hair help with crown are with FUE?

My goal is to get a shaved head look keeping around 1/4 inch or so short. I am obviously realistic. i dont expect to have that thick shaved head look, but something that is OK / Decent for a man who is 45 yrs old, in decent shape and trains MMA :)

    Thank you everyone!

  4. Hello Folks,

    Great to be here.

quick story, I had struggled with THIN hair my whole life. Since I was a kid, my hair was thinner than most. So some kids said I had a bald spot at literally age 8-9 yrs old. No one would say im bald or anything because I do creative hair styles to keep it looking as full as possible but its something I had to deal with my whole life.

Now in my early 40s, I do see receding. I believe I am Norwood 2-3. Some slight thinning at the back.

I did one 2000 graft FUT session and the results are not satisfactory. I got a hairline back but the thickness behind the hairline is not good.

I really want to do FUE for my next procedure. Maybe 1500-2000 grafts to fix things up a bit.

My former Dr. is against FUE. He likes FUT strip. However reading all the information on this site, I find that he is wrong about many things in regard to FUE.

He also says "FUE IS NOT FOR FAR EAST ASIAN MEN". I know Caucasian men in general have more density than Asian Men but is what he is saying true?

I currently live in Hong Kong and I know there are NO GOOD FUE doctors anywhere in Asia.

I read over some reviews of good doctors. Where should I go? Any good recommendations? Belgium? India? Turkey?

Thank you all and thanks for all support. Hair loss and regaining hair is such a mentally hard thing...
