  1. G'day from Oz to you Tommy (my faceless friend),

I, like Tom139 and NewHaiRy, am a genuine 100% satisfied patient of Dr Jennifer Martinick, and wanting to share my legitimate HT experience. My before and after photos are on her web site if you would like to check them out.

Unfortunately, it's members like you, who question if we are real patients of Dr Jen or merely affiliated with her clinic, that keeps me on this thread, and stops me from posting in other areas of this site to offer support and guidance to others thinking about taking the HT plunge.

You have a cheek to question my authenticity, when you have not even posted 1 photo of yourself in the 9 months you have been a member - I, on the other hand, an active member for only a few days, have posted 41, including 10 more this morning of myself a few years before my operation, just to prove to you and everyone else on this site that I am a genuine HT patient.

Furthermore, if I wasn't a 100% satisfied patient, I wouldn't be going back to Dr Jen in two weeks time for a further 2,000 grafts to my crown area.

And for the record, I agree that Dr Path. is an excellent HT surgeon, afterall he was awarded the ISHRS 2010 Golden Follicle, and Dr Jennifer Martinick may have even presented the award to him in her capacity as President of ISHRS - incidently, she was awarded the ISHRS 2003 Platinum Follicle.

Well done Rob thats the Aussie spirit mate!

    Great pics too congratulations

  2. Hi Sugarhighs,

She said that things like anabolic steroids, whey protein isolates, creatine, growth hormones, arginine, and what really surprised me energy drinks. They have arginine and high levels of sugars. She started explaining about different

metabolic pathways but I kinda got lost on that.

    Hope this helps.

  3. When I first began to lose my hair at a rapid rate, I was taking whey protein isolate. This has given me a biased opinion on these supplements making me believe they may cause/attribute to hair loss (which are still with me).

I would like to ask if anyone has evidence that they do not in fact contribute to hair loss?

Many protein powders supposedly increase testosterone, this surely increases DHT production, so would it not cause further hair loss?

If this is the case for some powders but no others, which types of protein supplements would be best to consume without any effect on hair loss?

I went to a Trichologist to see about my MPB. She asked about what supplements I take and had a list of things that as she said "can contribute to hair loss". I understood that to mean it doesn't cause hair loss but can speed it up but not in everyone. Whey protein isolate was one of them. She also sais that whey protein concentrate won't have the same effect as long as you don't take too much of it. I bought the help hair shake and have been using now for a few months. So far so good. I'm not sprouting heaps of hair but my hair does seem better with less shedding.

  4. hi guys..i have just added myself as a member to

this site as you people share a lot of useful info..

i am from india and would really appreciate if u members can help...

actually dr jennifer martinick(perth, australia) is coming here in april and i plan to get my first ever HT of around 2500 FU grafts done from here...

i just want an opinion from people on this site who know her or have had a HT from her...or any kind of info about her good or bad..

    any kind of comments

as it can really help me in making up my mind for her..

I agree with Shaggy, you wont have a problem with Dr Jennifer Martinick she is a specialist and knows what she's doing.

  5. Does anyone have any idea if this product works. From what I have read, it will not regrow hair but is supposed to speed up the growth of transplanted hair growth from 12-to 15 months to 9 months. Just want to know if anyone has any experience with it before I possibly waste money on it. Thanks all.

I came across this posting on another forum site that mentions the Help Hair shake helped him :)

  6. First of all I didn't say "the doctors who designed it are all hacks"

I said the doctor who designed it is a hack, referring to Larry Shapiro. And to be honest I lost a lot of respect for Dr. Cooley and Dr. Mwamba when I saw they were endorsing the shake.

It's a gimmick pure and simple. You could take a whey protein supplement along with a multiviatim and achieve the same results for a fraction of the cost. Anyone who thinks that the shake can have any effect on hairloss either has an agenda or is extremely foolish.

Seriously go to the website and look at the before and after pictures and tell me if you really believe those results are achievable by drinking a shake. If those results where true this would be as close to a cure for baldness as you could currently get. It is clearly a snake oil.

I don't mean to be harsh, however we get a lot of company shills and people pushing an agenda on this site every day and their typical m.o. is to join and immediately push a certain doctor or product and their posts are usually filled with inconsistencies, and you seem to fit this model.

    Hi there,

My only MO is to share my own personal experience with other individuals. I had a look at the website and the before and afters look believable to me. I understand there are a lot of people pushing their snake oils on this site and other sites, but to rubbish a product and disrepute someone's reputation is just as bad unless you have real evidence to support it.

  7. HI there,

I'm not pushing any products just simply sharing my own experience. Incidentally with regard to that, some of the research I have done includes the site (Link removed by moderator) which list some very predominant international doctors supporting this product. Do you somehow know something that they don't or are they all 'hacks' as you stated in your earlier post?

I also believe doctors such as Dr Cooley and Dr Mwamba use and recommend the Help Hair shake and have also posted on the Hair Transplant Network. What makes you think you have more knowledge than these doctors - unless it is simply you intention to rubbish the reputation of these doctors for your own personal gain.

If you don't like the product then don't use it. At least come up with a more substantial, credible response than saying it is "A waste of money" and the doctors who designed it "Are hacks".

And to answer your other question my profile reads "I just wanted to pass on my own experience with Dr Jennifer Martinick. In my case I had a great outcome and could not speak highly enough about Dr Jennifer Martinick. She spent a lot of time discussing what was achievable and what I could reasonably expect from a hair transplant.

This means exactly what it says - It does not say that I have had a transplant only what I could reasonable expect to achieve from having one.

Hopefully this clarifies the concern you must have for my hair loss situation.

  8. Yeah and I ride a flying unicorn to work everyday...

I'm curious in your previous post you state:

However on your profile you state that you have had a hair transplant with Dr Jennifer Martinick. So which is it, have you had a transplant or not? I really don't like to see new members pushing products especially when they are caught in blatant contradictions or lies.

  9. He would have experienced the same thing if he didn't use the shake.

The help hair shake is a waste of money and the doctor behind it is a hack.

Its a free world and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I was simply sharing my own personal experience. The Help Hair protein shake helped me and I know of a colleague who had a hair transplant who swears by the stuff and continues to use it. Like I said I did a fair amount of research including getting advice from another doctor as well as a nutritionist. They all agreed the protein shake had good quality ingredients that could well help with providing the proteins and vitamins hair needs to grow healthy. The doctor who designed the product certainly has a credible reputation. Good enough for me.

  10. Hi everybody,

I am considering having a hair transplant done with Dr Jennifer Martinick of the new hair clinic, I had a consultation there and came out feeling pretty positive about the whole thing. However after doing some research have heard some less than flattering remarks about her.

I am a strong advocate of not believing everything you read/hear, your more likely to write about a bad experience than a good one. I do however if possible want to be fully educated before making this big decision. So anyone who has had this procedure done by her, or knows someone that has would you recommend her?

I am 23 years old and am a Norwood III according to them. This will be to restore the temples and frontal hairline. I am based in Perth where her office is so distance wise this is convenient for me. Any response will be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

    Hi there,

I had a very good experience with Dr Jennifer Martinick. I did a fair amount of research before I made a decision and ultimately chose her because she has the experience and a good reputation, plus she is considered one of the leaders in the hair restoration industry.

It depends on what your expectations are I guess. At the end of the day these peoples are doctors not miracle workers. Maybe our expectations are unrealistic at times.

Anyway, each to their own I guess. Like I said, I could not speak highly enough about Dr Martinick in my experience.

  11. Hi there,

I personally haven't had a transplant but know of a colleague of mine who did. Following his transplant (he had 1500g FUT in Australia) he was working out a lot at the gym and was drinking various energy / protein drinks. His existing hair that wasn't transplanted was continuing to fall out fairly rapidly. He went and saw the hair doctor who put him on a trial to use the Help Hair protein shake and after 3-4 months he could notice that not only his existing hair was not falling out but his transplanted hair was growing quicker than he was originally told it would from his doctor.

  12. Hi there,

I have been using the Help Hair whey protein for nearly 6 months. In my experience I seem to be losing /shedding less hair now since I started taking the shake and my hair generally feels better.

Plus it also tastes pretty good when compared to other protein drinks I've used in the past.

Hope this helps and good luck..

  13. Hi Bill,

I have been using the Help Hair Shake for about 5 months and have noticed my hair is thicker and I don't seem to lose as much especially when washing it. I also drink the shake after I've been working out. On top of all that it actually tasted better than a lot of other protein shakes I've tried. Hope this helps good luck :)
