  1. Hi Everyone,

I recently got back on the hairloss cocktail of Rogaine and Propecia. However, I've had some pretty insane shedding over the last few weeks. I know the conventional wisdom is to wait it out, the hair will regrow, I just need to play it cool and have faith in the hair gods... but has anyone experienced shedding like this? Cuz holy hell is this messing with my head.

  2. Hi Everyone,

I've been considering switching from Oral Finasteride to the Topical Finasteride solution offered by Hasson and Wong, however, in the last week I noted that information regarding Topical Finasteride, as well as the patient before and after photos, have been removed from their website.

Does anyone know why they have removed all reference to the treatment from their website?

  3. The scar at the back is quite thin and has healed nicely. I've been able to cut the hair down to about a #3 with little to no signs of the scar.

I had some lingering pain from the incision that subsided about a month ago. Now, as I mentioned in my last post, I hardly feel or notice my hair. It's just a mop on the top of my head. A very, very expensive mop!

One thing I would like to say is that I'm happy I opted for additional graphs. I was originally scheduled for 2,500 but choose to push things further which was ultimately the right decision for me. I think it's wrong to suggest young patients shouldn't be aggressive with their hairlines. You have to be realistic of course, but it's your hair and your life. Make that decision for yourself - I'm happy I did.

  4. Hi Guys,

Thanks for your comments. It crazy thinking back to how much I used to fret over my hair - now I don't even notice it. It's truly a liberating feeling.

No, right now I'm not using any concealers. I am still on regain but haven't been taking propecia. However, I am thinking of getting back on it since I want the result to last as long as possible.

  5. Hey Guys,

I agree that things are progressing nicely all in all, just bizarre to look in the mirror and see one side kicking ass and taking names, then the other side bald as before. To answer your question HRSP10, both sides were receding at about the same rate. And the area that is somewhat "bald" at the time of transplant had no hair growing on it. The same can be said about the left side that is experiencing fantastic results. Hence my concern.

This month things are going to kick into high gear for you. The difference between my 3 and 4 month photos are astronomical in scale. Good luck.

  6. Hey Guys,

I'm just coming up to my 4-month mark and have shared my results on the blog. I'm starting to get concerned with the distinct lack of growth on the right side of my transplant. I haven't seen this before in any other photos online. The left side is look great.

Anyone experience this? I'm still early in the growth process but I'm also not THAT early. Things should be starting to level out at this point.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I'm getting closer to posting my four month results, however, as I draw closer I've started to notice a definitive bald spot on the left side of my head. I've been reassured that hair grows in cycles and this is likely the cause.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does this look normal?

  8. Hey Agenteye,

Yes, last month I was feeling pretty low and concerned about my transplant. Not about Rahal's work but rather how my body would ultimately respond to the transplanted hairs.

Seeing some growth has certainly calmed my nerves, and I'm really looking forward too what the next 30 days have in store for me. Also, once the hairs have grown out a bit further I'm sure it will start to blend into my native hair.

    Only time will tell.

  9. Hey everyone,

Thanks for your feedback and I apologize for my late reply.

I think I've just mentally hit the wall with the ugly duckling phase. Rahal is an excellent surgeon who has consistently provided great results, and truthfully, the last week I've even seen an increase in tiny hairs beginning to sprout.

I'm hoping this is a sign of good things to come.

  10. Hey Agenteye,

I can see some hair starting to pop out, but other areas have little to no action. I'm more apprehensive at this point than at any other thus far. The next 2-3 months are the make it or break it in terms of initial growth. Honestly, if I had hair I sure I'd be pulling it out from stress haha.

    Denny,

Thanks for your comments. I often go back and look at the post op photos; they do look fantastic. I'm truly hoping for an amazing result and will certainly keep everyone updated as I move through the process. I'm hoping to update biweekly.

If only you could use photoshop in real life :)

  11. Hey Guys,

I've just passed the two month mark.

Hair Restoration Journal for mr_predictable - 2 Months

Still nothing happening in terms of growth. I have a few scraggly hairs pocking out but they have been growing since the transplant. The scar from my donor area is quite red and I have experienced some shock loss. I recently shaved the back of my head to a #3 and it is very noticeable. I'm hoping the redness dies down and continues to slowly disappear over the next few months.

We shall see. How do you think it looks so far?

  12. Raphael84,

Here's hoping! I'm in the tough part of the process right now but am slowly counting down the days until I can unsheathe my new locs from my oppressive hats.

I see you also had a transplant from Rahal that was similar in scope to mine. According to your profile you're at about month 10? How are things looking for you?

    Thanks for you comment.

  13. Thanks for your feedback Agenteye, can anyone confirm what he has suggested?

I've just posted my 1.5 month update - not a lot has changed but the photos are certainly higher quality than my last update. As you can see I'm living the ugly duckling phase.

Hair Restoration Journal for mr_predictable - 1.5 months

I'm experiencing some minor shock loss around the donor area but nothing major. I'll try and get a few photos taken over the next few weeks.

Not so patently waiting at this point!

  14. Wow your hair is looking fantastic for 6.5 months, if I get anywhere near the density I'll be a happy camper. You're right, I'm at 1.5 months right now and the waiting is killing me! The mirror is my mortal energy at this point.

How is your hair feeling? Does it feel natural like your original hair did?
