  1. I would agree with what Blake said, I think you may be able to hold you hairline where it is (the solid part, not where it started thinning already) with finasteride and transplants. I had a simlarish transplant to what you would need but I was on meds and and 8 years older with no crown loss at the time of transplantation. It seems that you are losing in the crown to which is why I would consider meds. It may not give you your hairline back, but it can stabilize your entire head for years. Without them, you may be chasing the hairline that you implant until you run out of donor. I think meds are a must for any 25 year old getting an HT.

I got still no crown/vertex loss. Those gaps on hair is becouse of hairstyle and curly hair.

However, my hairline is a problem and no med will give me back solid NW1.

  2. Good man posting the photos - not easy to do.

You sure look like you could end up a NW6 in 10-15 years. I had more hair than you 12 years ago and am now approaching NW4A with the potential of a 5A in the not too distant future (without meds).

You've only got so much donor hair and let me tell you it may not be enough to cover half of your head let alone all of it.

The problem with young guys is you want the NW1 or 1.5 look and anything less than that would be a disappointment. Contrast that with a 40 year old NW6 who would be delighted to get anywhere near a NW3. That's why the top docs generally avoid young guys not on meds.

Some docs would still do a procedure on you but what will they say in 10 years when you show them your abnormal look? They will bring out copies of the papers you signed which advised lifelong use of Propecia and the words "Sorry but we warned you this might happen".

I'd recommend you take a trip to Manchester and arrange to meet Mick from Farjo. Also contact Spex (see his website Spex Hair).

Only 6 or 7 % of MPB males reach NW7!

Even 23years old NW1 can end as NW6 in 15 years.

Why should 20-30 years old guy be happy with NW 2.5 or NW 3?

It doesnet fit his age, its not good looking?

I will never understand stupidity of advice: wait til you are at least 40.

And then what? You missed your best 20 years with NW3 or NW4 ?

  3. So, Fin slow down our hair loss. My question is:

Guy is NW2.5 and start using fin in his 25. He use it for 15 years and then stops (no matter why).

For those 15 years he progressed only to NW3 (kept most of his hair).

When he stops fin, will all saved hair during those 15 years fall out, or will he just continue to lose hair

from NW3 at the pace he was losing it before starting fin?

What if he in next 5 years dont lose hair at all? Does that mean that we would end like no more then NW3

even without 15 years on fin?

  4. Businessgirl (Carol),

  6. Exactly....and that's what much of the medical industry does.

They "buy time" for patients with various ailments.

Like with LASIK eye surgery the eye continues to change after surgery,

so the results may not be permanent but the patient "buys some time"

and can have years of great vision.

People take all kinds of meds and are able to put off surgery...they "buy time".

Time is everything.....time is our life.

Propecia "buys time" slows hairloss for possibly years/decades.

If you are not on propecia you are "not buying time".

Thus will most likely lose more hair at a more rapid pace.

I honestly feel if I had not started on propecia in my 30's

I would be MUCH balder today and need much more surgery.

Taking the meds may have consequences,

But not taking the meds also has major balding consequences.

That is not what i meant.

Point is that Fin wont make your goal achievable: you wont save your hair.

You will still go bald, only losing smaller amount of hair. Process is not halted, it is slowed down. Your hair isnt geting better, its getting worse.

  7. rephrased:

So you are going to "not be bald" for the next 30 years?

What when you are 55-60 years old you still want hair?

Nope, read some studies and veteran users comments, doctors also; Fin wont save you from being bald. It SAVES time. It slows down the hair loss. In first 5,6 years it may totally stop it, but you will continue to lose hair and every year will have less hair then before. Fin slows it down, but the process continues.

  8. If Jason Statham was not an action movie star and working in the local factory you can be sure he would have nowhere near the female attention he gets. Therefore i find these comparisons a bit futile.

In saying that he does rock the bald look good. Its true a good shaped head is key.

However bottom line i think the sad fact is almost everyone looks better with hair or a shaved hairline.

What a true! That is what i am trying to prove all the time. Bald (mpb, not shaved) CAN NOT look good.
